This is quite a bit different from Joss Whedon's normal work, but still has that quirky sense of humour. It's a shame the video isn't available on the NZ iTunes store because that would show this in context. the soundtrack is still great on it's own.

why are we left with just the soundtrack why cant we download the show itself on itunes can some please answear this for me? its available on the US itunes so why cant we have it?

This is a collection of epic songs from an epic movie. Do you like Joss Whedon's work? You'll like this movie. Do you enjoy Neil Patrick Harris? You'll like this movie. Do you love life, puppies, carnival rides and in general all things awesome and shiny? You'll love this movie and this soundtrack. Buy them both, you will not regret it!

It took me a while to get around and see this but boy am I glad I did! The songs are so delightfully clever. Joss and his brothers have poured on the wit and charm and given us a deliciously nerdy romp!

The music is great, and from what I hear, that is as much a function of Jed Whedon of Southland fan then of his more famous brother. Music is a tradition in my family, and I'm glad it is in theirs!!!!

The music sounds even better when you're not trying to catch every visual joke. $9.99 is a bit steep for 25 minutes of music, however. Perhaps there could be a way to prorate prices for short songs ($.25 for songs 0:01-0:15; $.50 for songs 0:16-0:30; $.75 for songs 0:31-0:45). Next time, I hope Joss writes more (and/or longer) songs. That being said, I'm happy I have the soundtrack.

All of these songs are wonderful. The lyrics are catchy, and the vocals are well done. I highly recommend it, even though many of the songs aren't that long.

I don't care if it's expensive. I love Dr. Horrible! worth the $10. i love slipping, although it's kinda short and lacking without the sound affects and visual.

Firstly, This is AMAZING... I Love everyone involved with this.. Secondly, to the ones complaining about it being over produced and what not, well ITS NOT, its just a pure layer of vocals and music as opposed the video which is amongst other layers of sound effects.. so if you want the pure music without any other noise that distracts, then this what you need but if not then just rip the muic from the vidoes.. Lastly, and most importantly, to the ones complaining about the cost, first of all its only $10, these guys did all this for free no one was paid for anything, they put online for free, so now its time they get paid.. and lets be honest lots of people would pay more for a good sandwich.. SO STOP COMPLAINING and Enjoy good creative projects..

With only a meager amount of credits in my account at any one time, this show makes me waste too much of them on well-written, humorous, dramatic songs. Why do you have to write such good songs, you jerk?

I've been a Joss Whedon fan for years, however, the BEST part about this soundtrack is Neil Patrick Harris. His voice is simply amazing, not to mention, Felicia Day's spectacular pipes. And then there's the irreverent "A Man's Gotta Do" with the strapping Nathan Fillion. Let's face it, Dr. Horrible, Penny, and Captain Hammer (corporate tool) are the perfect trifecta....Thank you Joss Whedon. If it weren't for your brain, we wouldn't have such a lovely and delightfully entertaining piece of work.

I LOVE Dr. Horrible!!! He is amazing. these songs are like awesome. I would definatly pay $10-$15 for the soundtrack and movie. Here is what I think of each song... Horrible theme- Nine seconds, just the same old. My Freeze Ray- One of my personal Favorites. I love Neil Patrick Harris' voice, its amazing. Bad Horse Chorus- This tune is very catch, I could dance to it. Caring hands- Its ok I would think its one of the top 7 A man's gotta do- I LOVE this song, its so amazing. I would definatly recommend this song. My Eyes- MY FAVORITE!!! Over all this is defanitly the most amazing song. I LOVE the harmony between Neil and Felicia. Perfect. Penny's song- Its awesome. that's all i can say, Awesome Brand New Day- I love the beginning to this song. Neil can sing. So they say- Another one of my favorites. I love how everyones sings in this one. Everyone's a hero- Awesome, kinda repetitive though TOTALLY WORTH $10-$15!!!

What a fun and relaxing break. Without trying to take itself seriously at all this project and album have an elegant and brilliant simplicity. Looking for a good laugh - definitely an album worth getting your hands on!

Awesome and nerdy fun

Yeah, it's expensive, but totally worth it. The songs are cleverly written and go along with the show. It's nice not having to fast foward through all of the dialouge in the video. There's no way you can even just look at the soundtrack without buying it. Best Songs: My Freeze Ray Caring Hands A Man's Gotta Do My Eyes Brand New Day So They Say Slipping Everything You Ever Also, the actors/ actresses make the songs and videos that much better. Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion are beyond funny and Felicia Day has a gorgeous voice and fits the role of Penny perfectly.

Back again with my ratings on a scale of 1 to 10!! Don't have to bother with the "songs I'm unfamiliar with only ten seconds blah blah blah" because I know all of these songs. I'm such a fan!! 01) Horrible Theme - Y'know, it's a theme. Nothing to it, but you know, for a theme that's only nine seconds, pretty awesome. - 10 02) My Freeze Ray - Couple of years ago 'round Oscar night, I watched NPH sing and I thought "Wow, that guy can't sing." I'm proud to say that I'm wrong. Slightly hilarious love song. What else would you want? - 10 03) Bad Horse Chorus - I sing this to all of my friends and they seem so creeped out because they've never seen this which I am shocked at but still!! - 9 04) Caring Hands - The one flaw was Penny. I just didn't think that she was really...right. - 8 05) A Man's Gotta Do - This one made me laugh. A lot. Especially when Captain Hammer is constantly hitting Dr. Horrible's head on the car. So funny. He must have like some kind of head immunity not to die from that. :D JK - 9 06) My Eyes - Perfect. Absolutely perfect. I'd love to sing this at some kind of talent show with my buds, if only they knew how awesome it was. The only reason why it's not a 10 is because I'm jealous of Penny. Evil villains are cool. Wait, just went back - I'm giving it a 10. Felicia Day shouldn't ruin this for me. - 9 I mean, 10 07) Bad Horse Chorus (Reprise) - Again, sing this all the time. I even yell it out the window in the car and see people's weirded-out faces. - 10 08) Penny's Song - Pretty good. I mean, for Penny. - 10 09) Brand New Day - Revenge is a dish best served with frozen yogurt. - 10 10) So They Say - This one creeped me out. - 10 11) Everyone's a Hero - Grrr...I hate this guy!! But, for the egotistical "cooler-than-thou" not-so-super hero, it's pretty good. - 8 12) Slipping - As if right on cue, Dr. Horrible steals the show again. Bravo, NPH. You always make me laugh and sing along to the randomly catchy songs. - 10 13) Everything You Ever - This made me sad (for Horrible and Penny) and it made me happy (whoo-hoo, Penny's gone). - 9 14) Horrible Credits - Again, just a theme. No words, no amazing voices, no nothing. But it ended "the most terrifying musical...blog...really almost ever." (DH's words, not mine. It was at an Emmys.) - 9 I LOVE DOCTOR HORRIBLE AND YOU ALL SHOULD TOO BECAUSE IT'S AWESOME SPREAD THE LOVE!!!! EAT FROZEN YOGURT EVERY HOUR!!! NOT THAT I DO THAT BUT YOU GET THE MESSAGE!!!

Why do people like this? I can't figure it out. "Repo..." was a total bomb, and yet it was way better than this mess. The music was better, the singing was far superior. This thing was just plain awful!

Although it doesn't sound as vibrant as the songs on the actual video, it is very close. It may be that without the visuals it just seems flatter, but there are no sound effects of screeching cars, soup ladles refilling the same basin they came out of, or lasers. This is a good thing since it would sound as though the songs were ripped from the series. However, after saying that I have to comment on Penny’s song… It is just the opposite, the low notes tend to warble as if it was recorded from your mother’s tape deck back in 1982 and you set the volume too high to begin with. The rest of the album is great, so I wouldn’t let this one song stop you from buying it, but if that song is one of your favorites, you are going to be very displeased.

I was turned on to this by a friend who raved about it. I don't know why I waited so long. This production reminds me so much of "Little Shop of Horrors", another great show.

Dr. Horrible was my favorite thing to come out of the writers strike. And the soundtrack? Awesome! Fantastic! Legendary! (I couldn't resist!) Just one thing I beg of Joss, please release Commentary! The Musical! as a soundtrack. I cannot get $10 Solo out of my head! I'll be at work and it will just pop into my head and I can't resist singing a few lines.

My Husband made me watch the sing along blog, and I LOVED it. I am addicted. It is so funny and sweet and great. I love the music. Joss is a genus :)

This whole "Dr. Horrible" thing is so freaking funny!! Seriously! I just watched the whole series and immediatly wanted to watch it again. The music is terrific and hilarious. Even just listening to the Horrible Theme makes me giggle with glee! The actual videos are a terrific bargain on iTunes. Unfortunately the actual tunes cost more then the show but well worth it for a fan! Enjoy!

the music is absolutely fantastic. but the true beauty is in the plot development of the actual movie! This is now one of my favorite musicals of all time!!!

This show was done on a beer budget, but with pure talent, anything can be made great or at lease five stars on a beer budget. The music is wonderful and classic Joss Wheadon-esque writing, make it a brilliant web series. Literally, the best one out there next to "the Guild" another great webisode series.
