- Best Current Rock Artist Out There!!!!

Chris Daughtry is just amazing. There's no other word for it. Unlike most current rock or pop artists, Daughtry only has one song that has a swear ONE (Ghost of Me) and he does not computerize his voice like many artists today do (Sorry, I'm kinda a freak about that, I hate when singers computerize their voices)! He totally should have won American Idol! Once again, he's is fantastic!!!!!

- Leave This Town

Daughtry’s new album, Leave This Town, has shown just how much his talent has developed since his self-titled debut album. Not only have his vocal skills improved, but his song writing skills have as well. Many groups recycle their music leading to their albums becoming bland and repetitive. However, it seems Daughtry kept his creative juices flowing in this album and came up with new material. Certainly, it has paid off, this album’s foundation of rock mixed with some slow melodies connects with the listener. “Life After You” is a rock ballad that connects with the emotions of anyone that has gone through a breakup. Regrettably, however, I would have to disagree with Mr. Daughtry’s opinion and message that there is no life after the breakup and all he is living for is a life full of laughter. It is probably for the reason that he is living for a life full of laughter that he feels there is no life after a separation. When a person finds their worth and chases after something that can easily fail such as a relationship or laughter they are only setting themselves up for disaster. You have to find your worth in something that will never fail. In my life, that has been Jesus Christ. He has never failed me and has brought me through some very tough times. In “Tennessee Line,” Daughtry shows a little country coming through in his music. The use of acoustic guitars and fiddles are a nice change from the rock base in the rest of the album. The lyrics in this song interested me as well. “I open my lungs to breathe in forgiveness and love. Haunting me now reminders of how I used to be. And on down the road my troubles are sure to follow.” It seems rare for a mainstream musician to talk about forgiveness and bad choices from his past coming back in the way that Daughtry does in this song. It is interesting that he goes on to say that he has sworn off his past, from the first to the last bad call he ever made. This is similar to the Christian on life. The forgiveness Jesus Christ can give is bigger than any wrong thing that humans can do. However, it sounds like there is some history that the person is thinking about in the song, and he is having a hard time forgiving himself for. Overall, this album is fantastic. I have to admit, I love it and it never gets old. The lyrics and melodies connect with the listener. The lyrics are deeper and have more meaning than a great deal of music that is out on the market today. Like much of the other popular music, many of these songs are songs about a love. It is interesting that love songs connect so well with their audience. I think people are looking for love in so many places and songs about it meet people where they are. It is sad, however, that people look for love in all the wrong places. Like I said before your love and worth has to be found in something that cannot fail. I cannot wait to see where Daughtry goes from here. This album does not disappoint and I don’t believe any of his future work will either.

- Daughtry is back

Chris daughtry is back o ya

- Love this band and music!!

Great songs!! As far as I can tell, the kids can listen in too!! I hope I can go to a concert!! No surprise is my fav song on this album!!

- Daughtry is awesome

Daughtry is one of the best bands ever. This album is awesome. Not as good as the first but still good.

- Once agian AMAZING!!!

Ok remeber agian I have seen some pretty bad reviews about Chris so lay off people!!! Yes he sounds abosutly amaZing and doesn't lip sing like some other lame singers. He is real. He has fresh music. He has every good vocal. He is absolutly amazing!!!

- Wow

Daughtry as always been a guilty pleasure of mine. When I picked this album up, I was expecting to hear songs similar to his first release. When I pushed play, and "You Don't Belong" played, I gotta say, I was hooked. But that song kinda set a more hard rock tone for the rest of the album. So, I was expecting to hear more songs like that. That kinda left me disappointed. But, as a whole, I do like the album. I wish he would explore his hard rock side a little more for the next album. But, all in all, a pretty good record.

- AWESOME!!!!

BEST ALBUM EVER!!!!!!!

- AWESOME 2nd album!

Daughtry does it again! I love this album as much as the first, so happy this band was discovered after Chris appeared on American Idol (I still think he should have won that). Rock at it's finest, the way it was meant to be heard... awesome instrumentals and great lyrics. Keep rockin' guys! Congrats on all your success.

- AMAZING

He is one of the best singers out there! His vocals are incredible!

- I LOVE CHRIS DAUGHTRY!!!

Definaltly buy No Surprise and Life After You!!!! It's their best songs!!!!!!!

- this is all good!!!

i knew the moment Daughtry set his fine self out on "IDOL" that he was the real thing. he showed his worth with his first album (which i rushed to buy as soon as it came out), and he's done it agan. why every one thought that Adam Hicks was better was beyond my comprehension. and by the way where is the winner? in my opinion, he's right here where he belongs topping charts and breaking hearts. way to go Chris. keep up the great work! i love what you're doing.

- I like life after you

Awesome song life after you

- An acquired taste, but well worth acquiring

When I first listened to this album, I actually was kind of bored. The only song I liked was "September". But I gave it a few more shots, and over time I grew to like "No Surprise", "Life After You", and "You Don't Belong". I then realized that "What Have We Become" was officially my favorite Daughtry song so far, and got hooked on listening to "Supernatural" as well. Most recently, I've decided I really like listening to "Every Time You Turn Around" and "What I Meant To Say". In short, over the course of dozens of listenings, I went from being bored to deeply impressed. In retrospect, my problem the first time around was that I was mentally comparing this album too heavily to the pop-heavy tunes in Daughtry's debut work. The music on "Leave This Town" is every bit as good, possibly better, but very different, so it wasn't at all what I was expecting. As I got over this shock, I began to really enjoy this new, harder-rocking version of Daughtry, and I can't wait to see what comes next! In short, don't expect to love it the first time you hear it, but it's still a must-buy with some really powerful stuff.

- Great from the Start

On idol at first I thought he was ok but then he got better and look Chris rocks

- greatgreatgreatgreatgreat

awesome! i love no surprise!! thats the only song i got; don't know about the others. BUY IT!!

- daughtry is AWESOME!!!

this is a great album!! anyone who hasnt seen daughtry live...U GOTTA GO SEE EM!!!! i went and saw them in grand rapids and it was the best!! i got a high five from chris and met josh paul out by the tour bus..he signed an atograph and took a picture with me!!! thanks daughtry 4 an awesome experince!!!

- Joel S.

Love the songs!!

- Ph3@7m3 you are literally deaf

You are an idiot ph3! Who are you into? Dolly parton? Brittney spears? Maybe even Lindsay Lohan I see the iq resemblance. How is nickleback the worst band ever? That's because they aren't! Daughtry is a great band and obviously many agree. Oh yea that's right they had the top selling album of the year! So try fighting that one. Great album keep up the amazing work Chris!

- Awsomeness!!!!!!

This album is the best what Simon cowell

- Love it!!!!!

I absolutely loved this album! I love the band and I loved him in concert.. His new album should be on everyones iPods or on their cd shelf!!

- September

Can't wait to see the music video for September

- SO BORING

what is up with american idol winners? they are amazing during the show and then afterword their stuff is CRAP! this is sooo generic and boring that i can't stand it. i don't like a single AI winner because their stuff is the most boring music on the planet. if u want awesome rock music, listen to Three Days Grace.

- Chris

this album is awsome! I saw Chris and theory of a deadman in concert in pensacola.you should check out theory of a deadman!!!!!!!!!

- eh..

i've always liked his lyrics, but i don't really want to cry all the time and that seems like what all his radio singles try to do. i can sometimes listen to him on the radio but i can't listen to an entire album of him. his voice and the music all sound the same which makes it boring to listen to.

- Ahh, Daughtry, how I love you!

This is a fantastic CD, totally worth the 3 years! My favorite songs are September, Open Up Your Eyes, What I Meant to Say, and Life After You. I don't enjoy You Don't Belong and Every Time You Turn Around as much, but they still are very good, and people more into hard rock seem to enjoy them more than me. All in all, awesome CD!

- .... :D

It really p**ses me off to sit here and read people comparing Chris to people such as Nickleback and Creed. NO! Chris's voice is extremly different and less raspy might I add. As for the actucal musical sound that is what defines what genre they are in. Goodness people, he is good at what he does and he seems to be the only Idol winner that is actucally sticking around besides Kelly Clarkson. This album is worth the buy. So just do it.

- I Love Daughtry!

Daughtry is the best band ever! This album is great! Chris's voice is amazing. I can't wait to see what Daughtry's next album will be like. My favorite song is Life After You. :) I love this band!!!!

- Awsome singer and talented artist.

Chris has truley become an aswsome singer and song writer. Both of his albems are extremley awsome. Since American he has risen to becoming one of the top song writers in this time, has probably has more to come. Looking forward to him comming here in concert in las Vegas At the orleans arena. I know it will be a great concert to go to,looking forward to going. Chris you rock keep it going, and keep rocking. Daughtry you rock!

- Great album

I think that this is a great album, especially life after you and some others

- STICK WITH THE FIRST

THE FIRST ALBUM WAS AMAZING,YOU COULD BUY THE WHOLE THING.ON THIS ONE,BUY "NO SURPRISE AND RUN.

- Awful

The more I hear their music the more they sound like all the other bands out there. I am so tired of hearing them on the radio.

- amazingly awsome band

I like almost every song. a must buy.

- He's done it.

I always told myself that it was gonna be hard for Chris Daughtry to top his debut album, because he set the bar SO high... But I'd like to say that he actually did it. Well, there was no doubt in my mind that he'd do it, I just never expected Leave This Town to be this amazing.

- Songwriting, Performance Both Improved On Leave This Town

As much as I like "No Surprise", the sizzling, energetic first single off Daughtry's Leave This Town (the follow-up to their multi-platinum self-titled debut), I'm even more impressed with the quality of the rest of the songs. Creative and original (especially considering this is mainstream pop/rock), this collection eliminates much of the 'cookie-cutter' nature that I felt many of those songs had while retaining hook-laden melodies that made it so successful commercially. Dubbed by Chris as "a very big rock album", this sophomore effort starts that way with "You Don't Belong", a heavy rocker filled with '80's-inspired guitar riffs and power chords. Rather than using studio musicians as the debut did, Chris' bandmates recorded the musical tracks, and that's one of this album's major highlights and improvements. The almost not-stop touring allowed the band to develop chemistry, and the resulting cohesiveness shows through on the recording, giving this album a more loose, 'live' feel. "Every Time You Turn Around" keeps the rock edge going...the band members were given latitude to "throw things in on the fly"...an extra solo line here, an extra cymbal crash there, and this song is a good example of that. "Life After You" finally slows things down a bit, but that's not a bad thing on this record. The string of mid-tempo or slower songs that dominate the rest of the album are not contrived or 'manufactured'-sounding...in fact, Chris' weathered voice bleeds passion and sincerity combined with his relatable relationship-themed lyrics. The production allows 'holes' to open up for the vocal(s) to be heard clearly. Chris (collaborating with some of his rock 'buddies' and producers, including Nickelback's Chad Kroeger on two songs) seems to have honed his songwriting skills further...his almost innate ability to craft melodies and write lyrics from the heart continues to grab you and reel you in, without 'recycling' too much from the first record. Two songs in particular stand out for me... "September", a heartfelt ballad about growing up in the summertime in his small, North Carolina hometown but having to leave things behind to move forward, and "Tennessee Line", a country-flavored tune (fiddles and all) featuring country legend Vince Gill on background vocals. Unique and captivating, these gems are refreshing to hear while staying within the confines of the basic formula for Daughtry's success. While returning producer Howard Benson throws in a few extra production tricks here and there, he manages to keep the sound fairly natural and the enhancements aren't too overdone. The bottom line: Great songs, solid performance, and an overall stronger rock attitude. I'm not sure if the changes would be enough to win over those who didn't like Daughtry before, but if you did enjoy Daughtry Part 1, the sequel isn't likely to disappoint.

- :)

"Life After You" is a Great song!!! I love it!

- Stunning

I was able to catch Daughtry in concert in Nampa. I really hadn't listened to a lot of his stuff and mostly went to the concert for Lifehouse, but after the concert, I'm hooked on this album. I love almost every song on this album including Np Suprise, Life After You, September, Learn My Lesson, and the bonus track What We Have Become. Hope there next album is as amazing as this one! And if they come near your town, the concert is DEFINATELY worth going!

- Excellent Album for Daughtry

Excellent album. Another Daughtry success!

- A nice listen

This is a nice listen, but it's not great. The reason being that it doesn't sound much different from the first album. A lot of the same chords, different arrangement. I won't forget Daughtry's first album. This album, probably. Still love you guys, but there needs to be more experimentation. :) Saw you in concert in Baltimore. I've seen better unfortunately.

- Best Band Rite Now!!!!!

I have read some of the reviews saying Daughtry is getting boring but he is not, he is amazing and rite now the best singer out. This album isn't like other that has 1 or 2 maybe 3 good songs, all of them are great except for maybe one but for you to like them you have to make a connection w/ their music.

- Daughtry Rox!

Daughtry is my faveorite singer ever! I have all of his songs and I think hes the best! Songs i recomend: No Suprise Supernatural Learn my Lesson Tennise line

- Saw him live

If you want music with feeling get LIFEHOUSE. Daughtry is a bald motley crue wanna be. He is know for his slower stuff and its a joke when he does heavy songs. His concert was way to loud and the only reason i suggest going is drung 30-40 yr old women who swoon at his baldness and boot kicking like he is a metal god. Now i would say if Daughtry wants to sound better get a better sound board guy that fat bald guy with the red beard did nothing. Lifehouse made these guys look BAD

- Tennessee Line is a must have

I was born in Tennessee but sadly no longer live there. When I saw this song I listen to it. It is well writen and the music is great. Vince Gill adds a touch of Tennessee with his voice. This song is great if you like rock, country, bluegrass or all give this song a try it is a must have. September is a cool song also.

- GO DAUGHTRY

What the hell people?! Why was Nickelback brought into this?? Nickelback is frickin amazing by the way!! My favorite band. But they have almost nothing to do with Daughtry the only thin is that Chad Kroeger (the best front man ever) has helped write some songs with Chris. So don't brin Nickelback into Daughtry teritory. Not the same band!! Daughtry did amazing on this cd so anyone who doesn't think so can go listen to Lady Gaga or some stupid pop music. This is rock, maybe not hevy rock, but it's rock. And they arent asking u to listen to them..... So u hater out there, don't listen it's that simple

- Another Great "Multi-Hit" Album by Daughtry!! Way to go Chris & Company!!

What more can one say about Daughtry? They're Amazing!! Chris and company really know how to crank out some great songs and several on just one album!! (which is RARE for the majority of music artists, where you might get 1-3 decent songs out of 12-16 songs on an album). *Yet, Daughtry definitely aims to please and one can tell they really enjoy what they're doing. Chris is just an amazing songwriter and I'm so glad he chose to form his own band vs front a band. *Great Album, yet again!! Tho I really didn't expect anything less from Daughtry (think I'm a lil late in writing this review or maybe I did write a review when it first came out and forgot, which is probably what happened as I've had this album for almost a year now.. oops:)~ *If you loved Daughtry's debut album "Daughtry", you'll equally love n enjoy this album!!

- Call Your Name!

I just love "Call Your Name". It's the best of both worlds of ballad and rock. So soft and tender in the beginning, with a great falsetto from Chris with a little twang, smashed together with a climatic rock that lasts about the last minute of the song. I am reminded of an Evanescence's song. I know that on this album "No Surprise" was the most promoted, but it's too much like Nickleback. Sorry. It sounded copycat, but I felt this before I even found out that Nicklback co-wrote "No Surprise".

- One word...

Outstanding!!!!

- LOVE IT!

I love this album. 'Tennessee Line' is absolutely my most fav! I also really like 'September', 'Life After You', and 'No Surprise'. Daughtry has yet to disappoint me!♡

- pretty good...

... well pretty good for average

- BUY LIFE AFTER YOU

enough said, it is an AMAZING song, and it is something for couples to listen to together. plus, I gotta admit that this is better than Daughtry's (isn't it all caps like this: DAUGHTRY) first album.
