You Make My Dreams by Daryl Hall & John Oates Song Info
"You Make My Dreams" is a 1980 single by Hall & Oates from their album Voices. The song reached number five on the Pop Singles chart in 1981. Vocals from Hall & Oates "You Make My Dreams" were later sampled on R&B singer Amerie's song "Take Control". American pop rock band Mêlée included a cover version of "You Make My Dreams" on their album Devils & Angels. It has been featured in the television shows The Office, Cupid, and Glee, as well as the movies Step Brothers, the documentary My Date With Drew, and The Wedding Singer. The song made a minor comeback in 2009 when it was featured prominently in the indie Sundance hit film 500 Days of Summer, in the hit comedy-musical show Glee and in the medical drama Private Practice. Regardless of the song's quality and inherently universal application to positive relationship upswing sequences in fiction, it is insanely overused in said situations.
