Michael Joseph Jackson, just the name is enough to make ppl smile, cry, laugh, rejoice. He was and still IS an inspiration to millions of ppl around the world. He inspires me even, to be myself, to keep going. I still cry when I think about the fact that he is no longer here with us. He is missed GREATLY by millions upon millions of ppl. He didn't deserve what ppl said and did to him. He was such a good, generous, caring person. All i can say now is that he's in a better place where no one can hurt him anymore. He was beautiful, but ppl didn't see that. His heart was beautiful, everything about him. He IS the greatest artist/singer/dancer/entertainer of our time. There has never been a greater compilation of MJ ever!!! I got this album in stores when it came out! I downloaded it onto my ipod as soon as I got home! Then the first time I played a song on the album I was disapointed I was excpecting the live versions! If you're a really big MJ fan then don't buy the album, if you are barely getting interested in MJ this is the perfect album. So fans just buy This is It and Shake your Body Down to the ground. (conclusion if you are too lazy to read the long paragraph up there!)

Mj was an amazing artist, some even called him king like Elvis. The thing that upsets me is how people say stop hating. Well they don't have to, even though I like mj's music I think that people have the right of free speech. And I read this one review that said mj was different than all other rappers because they supposedly all talk about sex, money, etc. But that's not true. And another review that said if u don't like mj's music you don't know what real music is. Do I really have to explain what is wrong with that? I can't believe I have to buy the entire album just for 'This is It'. This is the first time I won't be purchasing an MJ album. I already have multiple versions/remasters/remixes of all of these songs, and I'm not paying $13.99 for the new single. I'm really dissapointed by this.

What can you say but, awesome! Great songs from a great talent who left us too soon. I can't wait to see the film and this will get me pumped up for it! I really love that there is a "digital booklet" with lots of great photos as MJ and his crew (including a Canadian dancer!!) rehearsed and prepared for the show, a nice touch when downloading the album. I'm going to state the obvious: every song on here is a classic. While I think the new "This Is It" still feels greatly unfinished (the orchestral version is much beter than the standard one, but even still you can hear how rough around the edges it is) the classics are there and sound as good as ever. However, with only 6 new tracks fans may want to avoid this, and pick up the EP version. Sony really could have done a lot better with this, including the Live tracks that will be featured in the film rather than the studio masters we all already have purchased several times over. A great compilation for the newly anointed Jackson fan. But not worth the $14 for a fan who already has several copies of the songs already (though the option of a 6-track EP is nice to have, and is what the fans should be sure to grab).

Michael, u left us so much behind and i thank you. U truly were a musical genius! And this is NOT it ur spirite will live on through ur music 4ever so we just cant stop lovin' u!!!

Ok i can obviously undersyand people sauing hes a great entertainer, but honestly how can you call him a great singer? He just squeals and growls every so often! Hes a dreadful sing especially when you compare him to the likes of Whitney Houston, Tom Jone, Leona Lewis etc. And bear in mind that if Micheal Jackson came out today most people would laugh at him because in his "era" there wern't that many well known artists. Based on vocal talent, his songs are pretty bad and you know, you got to let people have their opinions, so saying " keep them to yourself" makes you sound like a communist because remember the point of DEMOCRACY is to voice your opinions. If you had never heard of Michael Jackson and bought this you did good ,if this is the first album you have ever bought from Michael Jackson then you then you have bought into one of the best albums in the world period otherwise this latest album release is a masterclass from the record company on how to fleece the fans who adore him and anyone else who just appreciates amazing music...ok lets cut to the chase we all wanted the single This Is It and were always gonna buy whatever fom it came in -and the behind the scences demo track were good but COME ON..why no live versions, indeed why wasn't the whole album live save the title song -we have the songs already in a gazillion formats -we love the songs ,so did we really need to buy them again unless they were live or incredibly remixed...We love you MJ ...not the format .

We all know that we want This is it, and thats it. We all already have many, if not all the other songs featured on this album. Surely a single version of This Is It would do very well in the charts too. I don't want doubles of songs. Great music from a great man. All his music is worth the money. Just not a great decision to put This Is It as 'Album Only'. The movie version is brilliant.

Every track a winner - just shameful fan exploitation of fans, who will already have the bulk of these tunes, just not "this is it". MJ's legend will live on - certainly a lot longer than corporate greed. I thought the movie was excellent & my respect for MJ helped me swallow the cost of effectively the new song. I think its a great album all the greatest hits plus originals with a special twist and these were the ones that michael was going to perform to his fans. I just wanted the track " this is it." I already have the rest off the tracks numerous times,so basically I had to pay £9:99 for the one track I wanted. It's clever business if you ask me,because 99% of people buying this album are only really wanting "This is it" and already have the other tracks,but If you ask me It's worth the price.

Please ignore those that say it's a rip because we've heard it all before. This is an album dedicated to his rehearsals and if you're a fan, you'll want to listen to the voice of MJ hear the emotion in his voice, whilst in the back of his head he knew he was preparing for a live tour- how can this compare to other 'the best of' albums. The movie was incredible and I'll never be tired of his music plus, i rarely listen to live music, but I can't get enough of Michael Jackson. Price is a little steep however and, the fact you can't purchase This Is It single unless you buy the album.

Itunes, it appears, are aiding the financial recoup for the costs of the tour. To be honest, they recouped the cost of the tour the day Michael died. The amount of airplay all over the world of Michaels songs, generated so much money that it is believed Michael is worth more to record companies (the capitalist market) dead, than he is alive. Absoultley disgracful. The man was an artist, albeit a brand concious musician - he had to deal with so much in his lifetime that it would be a lot more respectful for us to appreciate this, and not buy into the recoup of the f'ing century!!

i saw the movie and the songs are all the ones we saw him practising... but in the movie hes made changes to the songs like in smooth criminal its a different gituar or somthing, so i though they could of put those live ones on the album, or maybe put at least one or two of his new ones on. i hevent got some of the songs though so i suppose I will just have to have some doubles if I want to get "this is it" which if i may piont out a great song about mj. god bless his soul. peace!

the fact is Itunes are also selling a version of this is it called highlights and it only has the tracks on it that weren;t released before, so if you don;t want to buy all the songs on this album, you just buy the other one, but yes admittedly Itunes in opther cases sell certain songs if you buy the entire album which isn't fair, but here you do have a choice, buy the highlights album or this one.. I didn't buy this from Itunes as I wanted the packaging with it as I have been an MJ fan for over 20 years...bt if you just want the new songs, just buy the highlights album...a lot cheaper..usually you don't have this choice but fortunatley in this case you do..

Look everyone, i know it's expensive just for two more songs. But think about it, this is probably the last. Let me tell you what - go to a shop, eg. HMV and pick up the CD version. Then leave it there, and you don't have to get any more albums. It's good just to say that you had the last album, and its good to feel that you've got the CD. i Know it's a couple of £ extra. Think about it though, unfortunately this is probably the end of Michael Jackson CDS! So buy it as a CD. I did and i won't regret it, because this is the last album. This is an amazing album, despite consisting of a lot of material thats already been released. Most of the first disk is remastered - and you notice the difference even on my tiny little macbook speakers. A lot of effort has gone into the remastering of these tracks and if you like decent sound quality - skip the iTunes store, buy the album and your local HMV and rip it yourself in Apple Lossless. The thing is, I can't help but feel that the iTunes sample of 'This is It' sounds better than my lossless rip. In short - a great album and well worth the purchase.
