I bought this album randomly one day. Just have to spread the word about how great it is. So Hi So Lo and Thunder are some of the best songs on the album. I highly recommend buying this.

i love this song!! im 13 yrs old and i usualy like the pop music but this guy has awesome songs! i dont know y u guys dont like the new stuff by this guy i mean artists try new things all the time and he is just tryin somethin new..

What a drag! This album was way over-engineered and sounds more like a club rap or R&B album than the inspired reggae that was in "Youth." Truly disappointed to find most tracks are sung through an auto-tuner as well. What a shame that a talented artist didn't stay true to what made him interesting in the first place. If you're a fan of "Youth", I'd skip this album and buy some of the live tracks instead.

I very much enjoyed Matisyahu's more original flavor however I like his new approach. I like the reggae infused with a bigger beat however it IS more mainstream sounding. It's catchy, the lyrics are inspiring and meaningful. Not a fan of akon being in this album however besides that this is a very awesome album!

Addin this album to my growing wish list when I get on my PC. Glad to see Matisyahu is gettin props by ppl outside his sect of the music industry. Thanks Akon for helping make a good album and thanks matisyahu for sharing the flava u got with us.

if ur a jew and reading this. we cant be critical of matisyahu. the fact that an orthodox ma can have an effect on so many people and live his dream. we have to support him for whatever he chooses to do.

I must admit, when I first got this album I hated it. The hip hop/pop influences in this album really dilute the good messages of Matisyahu. The way to like the album is to (for a few times) ignore the music and focus on Matisyahu's real talent--his lyrics. Okay, my track-by-track review: Smash Lies 5/10 We Will Walk 9/10 One Day 10/10 Escape 6/10 So Hi So Lo 7/10 I Will Be Light 10/10 For You 8/10 On Nature 10/10 Motivate 6/10 Struggla 4/10 (the little voice must die!) Darkness Into Light 6/10 Thunder 7/10 Silence 9/10 I guess it's pretty easy to see the good tracks. Hope this helps!

I really have grown weary of music fans who come back to an artist just expecting more of the same. Do you do the same work in your career year after year? Do you not grow into new roles, perhaps even try different industries? I can look at just about any bands reviews from album to album, always a bunch of whiners who basically wanted a rehashed copy of the previous work...sorry folks, most artists don't work that way, they want to grow, evolve and try new concepts. I don't believe Matisyahu has gone pop any more than bands like Metallica or Aerosmith went pop. They get more mature and mellow perhaps, but I don't consider that a bad thing. Musicians are just like everyone else, most don't aspire to create 15 undistinguishable albums to please the first set of fans they acquired.

where is the Matisyahu that we all knew! come on! King Without His Crown was just pure amazing and on top of that spiritual. i have had many people listen to them and admire thier work. what happened now? where is the soul in the music? it is gone. i wish mainstream was just a fake concept that musicians would not have to face. if they can be appreciated for the music that created them not what the society wants now.

When I first heard this song, I immediately liked it a lot. Now, I found it on iTunes and listened to it. It sent chills through my body and gave me goosebumps because of how true and meaningful this song really is. I listen to hip-hop/pop music, and none of those songs are as great as this. I'd highly recommend it.

Best song I've ever heard in my entire life. Just listen to it. The lyrics are just so great. They added on to my hope for finally seeing peace in my life time. As for the rest of the album, ehh. His earlier stuff was better. However, One Day just gives this album a 5 star review in my book.

I love Matisyahu!!! He is my favorite singer/rapper/beat boxer artist of all time since I discovered him back in February. I purchased most albums available on iTunes from him by this point. His voice works miracles and gets my mind off bad thoughts. He is clear in his head and thinking unlike a few other famous singers. He is true to his word and religion. The music itself is a great beat that is enjoyable to listen too. I have a small con but it's not his fault. I wish iTunes would put some of his older works that I find on his website on iTunes. I can't wait until his next album! Matisyahu is the best!

Great music that makes the message more accessible to todays audience but I ask Mr. Matisyahu not to conform his message to fit it as well. An album I can truly listen to all the way through. Although I do miss the old reggae genius.

This album is a major let down compared to Live at Stubbs. If you've never listened to him before then you'd probably like it, but his old albums are WAY better, especially for us Jews. I was hoping to hear more songs like 'Lord Raise Me Up'. Not feelin this album at all:(:(!

Absolutely amazing and incredible album, nicely done Matis!

You have to see him live to understand this album, to understand why it is so different. His live show is incredible at the very least. You really get to see what inspired Matisyahu to forge Light the way he did. It's indescribable, so I strongly urge you to see a live performance. Once you do, you will never have the same feeling about this new album.

As most already know, Matisyahu dosnt like to label himself under one genre of music. But in this overrated "sell-out" of a cd he has done just that. This entire cd is nothing but hip/hop music with a slight reggae beat barely heard in the background. No "live feel band sound" anymore, just studio recorded beats. Just horrible, like nothing the Great Matyisyahu has ever done before.

Why is this guy in the reggae section?? Seriously, every time I browse this section I can't believe they put "matisyahoo" in this category!! All fans of this dude's not so great vibes should advocate for a better artist category.

I can't stop listening to this album. Matisyahu rules!

I can totally see why some people think of this as his "sell out" album, but they're not giving "Light" a chance. That being being said, It needs to be listened to more than once before final judgement is handed down. It has a different sound than his previous albums, but the message is still there. I hate Pop music, & radio songs, but "One Day" gives me chills every time I hear it. "On Nature", "Smash Lies" & "I Will Be Light" are also some of his best songs on record. Forget about genre's... Relax & enjoy.
