- Too Slow

Just feels so slow! Jonny Craig be slow on your side project not EMAROSA. Nothing has really wowed me on this album compared to relativity. This is your way out is long gone people so dont even bring it up. It would have been nice to hear jonny yell more and the instrumentals pushed further.

- true music

Im all about bands that keep true to there music and sing about topics that affect them. not including money, hoes, and ridin dirty with 24's. this band is legit. Jonny Craig is legit.

- depends on what youre after.

honestly, i agree with everyone who's saying that this is no longer emarosa. i honestly think that this sounds like another Jonny Craig album (notice Jonny is spelled jay-oh-en-en-why. no h!) but im not complaining at all. i loveee Jonny Craig with all my heart. he's my inspiration. if youre after the old emarosa dont even listen to this, you'll only end up disappointed unless you like Jonny. Jonny fans will love this, old emarosa fans might not like it so much. Jonny has a beautiful voice. just sayin[;

- Amazing!!!

Every song in this album rocks, vocals are incredible and even the song titles have enough depth to show how much dedication they put in.

- Come on......

Anyone who likes this and calls themselves a fan of Emarosa is lying to themselves and everyone else. This is not Emarosa. Jonny Craig is a great singer, don't get me wrong, but he was good, in Dance Gavin Dance, NOT Emarosa. This is now a bunch of the same $h!t thats everywhere right now. I mean, this is ridiculous. If you like what Emarosa has sadly become, (not exactly Jonnys fault, it's just the way thing s happened) then don't listen to Emarosa. Listen to a more popular mainstream band. If your a fan of Emarosa (like me) then you will listen to This is your way out, or check out the band Agraceful (where the original screamer for Emarosa went). Please, I wish everything just went back to the way it was......... P.S.: @elp3::::: you should NOT WANT MORE ACOUSTIC FROM THEM BECAUSE THAT IS NOT THE KIND OF MUSIC EMAROSA IS SUPPOSED TO BE!!!!! If you want acoustic, go find acoustic. You, obviously, are NOT an Emarosa fan. Good day.

- Album of the Year imo.

Honestly, this is one of the most amazing albums ive heard this year. Mostly because, of the vocals and the drums. Jonny's vocals are amazing and i think that he should stay in this genre. It's a definite buy if you ask me. Every song on this album is amazing, there is not one song i dont like. I love how they brought out the drums on the album, the drums are louder than the other instruments and its amazing. BUY IT.

- slighty disappointed

I am a huge Jonny Craig fan all the way back when he was in Ghost Runner on Third and i have loved all of his music ever since but i would have to this album was slighty disappionting. By no means is it a bad album but its just not what i had hope it would be. This album in my opinion doesn't even sound like Emarosa but more like Jonny's 2nd solo album. I just don't believe that Jonny cared how the instruments sounded and just cared about his voice. Ionno i just guessed there would be more songs like Just Another Marionette.

- o

chocolate

- Sorry but..

Emarosas first cd was magnificant. I want the old hardcore emarosa back, Johhny Craig didnt have to go turn Emarosa into DGD!!! Emarosa would be way better off with the origonal members

- Emarosa Distilled

If "Relativity" was a breath of fresh air to the post-hardcore scene, then Emarosa's sophomore effort is a second breath of that same air, which is no longer fresh and actually tastes slightly stale. While J. Craig and crew still deliver the hair-raisingly epic riffs that defined their unique sound, they are less numerous and less intricate on this album. Gone are the unexpected tempo changes, erratic song structures and non-traditional vocal phrasings that attracted a generation of ADHD-afflicted listeners. "Emarosa" showcases the band in a distilled and simplified form. Sadly, parallels will be (and are being) drawn between Emarosa and other notable, straightforward acts (Thrice, Thursday, and perhaps I'm dating myself, but hints of Sevendust). Despite their best efforts, this album just comes off mediocre in comparison to their first.

- I am wowed

Yes, I've heard previous albums and own relativity in its fullness. In all honesty though, I'm more appreciative of this self titled. This is the first album of 2010 I've downloaded in full. At least 8 solid tracks I'm so glad I've heard and will continue to hear. Great music. I'm sorry for the "fans" who feel the inclination to 1 star this because Emarosa didn't do exactly what they wanted, or perhaps did what they did not want. Play on Emarosa.

- not a sophomore effort...

this album is not a "sophmore effort". The first album is this is your way out. This is the second album with a different sound. It is not bad although I feel the first album is the way emarosa should have been. I like J.C. in dance gavin dance better of course but oh well every band changes lineups now a days.

- amazing

this is where its at. Jonny Craig does it like no one else can.

- They did it!

Jonny Craig and the rest of emarosa finnaly managed to work great together. When relativity came out the band was background noise to jonnys amazing vocals so because jonny had to carry the band by himself it made it an ok album. But this time they really got it down. I'm so happy for them as a band I still miss the days of jonny in dance Gavin dance but I really think there could be something good going on here if they keep it up. Maybe next time try a screamer. A must buy!

- Beautiful

The whole cd is amazing, people who say it's not a good hardcore cd, you're right, the genre next to the cover art at the top of the page says 'alternative',it's not supposed to be hardcore, if you want to mosh in your room at night in front of the mirror, get something else. the writing in the cd lyrically and musically is brilliant and deserves a good listen.

- Sadness

Emarosa was the first post hardcore band i ever listened to. they were my favorite band hands down. when Relativity came out i almost cried. It's just not the same. Emarosa used to be the best band, i wish they would go back but we all know that's not going to happen. it's all about the money. Same thing happened to Breathe Carolina. They're first album was good, then they decided to make music that sounded like Selena Gomez wrote it so they would make more cash. A band that stayed at their sound and didn't care about the money was The Devil Wears Prada. I give them so much credit because they are really popular right now, but they still stick to their brutal metalcore. I like this new Emarosa stuff, but i think it needs a little brutalness to it.

- I honestly think this has to stop.

I can no longer stand this band. They should have quit after Chris left.

- cheers for johnny!!

i love this its sooo much better than the other two albums espiscially utah johnny craig is an amazing singer and really has amazing talent!!

- Unique and powerful, A+

words cannot express what a feat this album is. It's like you can feel the band members gelling together, and molding themselves into this amazing band. relativity was a good album don't get me wrong, but sometimes it is all over the place. The structure of every song is unique and powerful, add Jonny craig's voice and you have something that cannot be ignored. In a decade, Jonny's voice will be a religion! A must buy, for anyone who appreciates beauty in music, and the creativity of a flawless vocalist!

- Improvement

I got really bored with Relativity. The vocals didn't go with music. However, now the vocals and the music blend in beautifully. Everything has improved, except the vocals, they've been always amazing. Emarosa completely stands out from any other band in the Post-Hardcore genre.

- Why isn't this on MTV?

if only artists that actually write there own music could be in the video rotation on mtv. Emarosa was great with Roetter, but Craig's vocals have taken this band into a genre of there own. With hints of alternative, post-hardcore, r&b, and pop, anyone could enjoy this. My mom even does (and she's a teacher). True talent reallly should be recognized. And i can't wait for the saga of I Can Still Feel Her to continue!(:

- Out with the old in with the new!!!!

Jonny makes everything sound so passionate. I'm glad they got rid of the old singer he sounded horrible. All he did was make his voice high pitched, he sucked. I don't usually write reviews but I had to back up my boy jonny.

- Emarosa's moving up

This album did a lot of things different from Relativity, and the main thing is that everything slowed down, and opened up. The instrumentals are stronger than they were in Relativity, and every aspect of this album makes it sound huge to the listener. Everyone on here that's bashing the album is wishing that the album would be something that it's not. Take the album as they wrote it, they grew and wrote things a bit differently. When you listen to Relativity every song is EPIC, and every one of them hits you in the face with loud vocals, and powerful guitars. This album went a little bit more to the artistic side of all the members of Emarosa. Regardless of what anyone says, there are parts like in I Still Feel Her pt.4 where they have that same edgy punch you in the mouth sound. It's progress, and this is an amazing album.

- UGH!

I'm so upset by what this band is putting out, this is your way out is seriously one of my favorite albums ever its what got me into post-hardcore/hardcore music and emarosa is like my favorite band.(maybe I'm wrong but) Self titling an album is like saying this is what represents the band and this album doesnt do it justice. not bad music but its super mainstream verging on whiny. I'm so upset I was really hoping for another "This is your way out" but this is far from it. If you like alternative this is your album though (like All time low, Boys like girls, Fall out boys... sorry)

- I think Jonny and the boys have done an awesome job!!!!!!

When Relativity came out I was a bit unsure of the direction Emarosa was going and if I even liked it. It was very different from the Emarosa I was crazy about. Besides a few Demo's like "Corsets are Cages" and an EP like "This is Your Way Out", Emarosa never really developed there sound. Well, after listening to "Relativity" a few times then putting it down for a couple months then picking up and listening to it again, it hit me like a ton of bricks. These guys are AWESOME!!!! OK so Chris Roberts left the band and Jonny Craig stepped in, but boy, did these guys step up there game. They went from your typical scene post hardcore band, to there own sound. Now with the new album I think there sound is really starting to take its form. The songs are more structured and the progressions are not all over the place. Listening to "Relativity" for the first time is like BAM to the face, where are we going? I will have to say that this new album is definitely the best album of 2010 in my book. Great sound, beautiful melody's, catchy versus/choruses and Jonnys lyrics are deep and to the point. Great Job Guys!!!!!

- It sounds good!

Emarosa definitly is not the same band it used to be. The only thing it has in common with the cd this is your way out, is the band name. But honestly this cd is really good. Jonny Craigs voice is amazing and the band together makes a great sound. it's not as if they pulled a spill canvas. Now those guys sold out. Emarosa is definitly not post hardcore anymore but that doesn't make it any less good unless you only listen to that type of music. My favorite song from this cd has to be Pretend relive regret.

- Great band

They became my fav. Band :)

- Awesome

What a great album. Well done music along with great production and vocals! I for one em a new listener to this group so for all you new comers; this is a wonderful album and deff worth every penny!

- Freakin' Wonderful.

This is a great album, a must get. Jonny's voice will give chills, when it gets soulful and rough you will get chills. Every song on here has a great groove and a great feel and catchy chorus all without being repetative. Also, anyone know what the cover art means?

- Are You Sure???

Is this still Emarosa??? How does a band go from metal to Alternative? I cannot beleive it I want the old Emarosa back...

- Anything Jonny Craig sings deserves 5 stars

Enough said. Buy the album. 

- Another Great Album by Emarosa

I don't know how I stumbled upon this band, but I have downloaded a few of their songs from past albums, and I am blown away by this band and specifically the lead singer's voice!! Not to mention their lyrics are great too! I wish more people knew of this band cause they are incredible! I just downloaded this album, and I already love every song! It's a little more mild than past albums, but still good. Download!! Now!

- small improvements take them to the next step

is this a completely different album than relativity? no. but is it better? definitely. johnny's vocals are still at the forefront putting the musicianship behind it. but it now works so much better by instead of seemingly fighting against it, but complimenting it. the self titled CD also has some catchier songs ("a toast to future kids!' and "share the sunshine young blood" and "the game played right"). but it also has some heavier songs ("broken vs. the way we were born") and "i still feel her pt 4" even has screams and a breakdown making it the most intense song on the album. if you liked relativity you'll like this. if you are a fan of the genre this is a must for your collection and if your new to Emarosa it has just enough of appeal to keep you coming back. its not this summers best, but its still a good effort you should check out

- Nicely Done...

...I like the way that Emarosa keeps evolving into a full rock band. I know some people miss Chris and all, but do you honestly believe that "screamo" Emarosa would stay around forever? The band is getting older and their music reflects it...great job gentlemen...

- emarosa is gonna rise

ok dude i thought i had already reviewed this so i took the time to while trying to find it look at what others had to say i wont NOT put things in perspective like theres better albums but narrow it down to JUST EMAROSA and youll see this is a experiment with being soft not changing their genre to please fans and it seems its working. then the lexington natives throw us i Still Feel Her pt.4 and whats this JONNY CRAIG SCREAMS? sahweeeeet dude the vocalist does get PLENTY OF credit where credit is due i mean he's JONNY and not Johnny Craig. still hes not the only member of emarosa. EVERY MAN INVOLVED WITH THIS ALBUM (Will Sowers, ER White Jordan Stewart LUKAS KOZEWSKI Jonas Laetjakder) worked just as hard. dont like this album if ur just here for jonny craig this is a band who plummeted out of christian hardcore and into a genre of there own not mainstream think of it like sparks the rescue Screamo wasnt working for them it doesnt work for everybody personally i hope to see self titled 2 soon cause these boys are working hard god what i would give to see them with bmth and august burns red this fall! pretty much all the songs are worth a stream if not better

- Rockin

Another Emarosa cd you can listen to from start to finish without skipping any songs. So glad they got away from the screaming. Anybody can scream, but not everyone can carry a tune. Perfect music for driving or hitting the gym.

- Talent Beyond Measure

With definite influences from his solo project (A Dream is a Question You Don't Know How to Answer) Jonny Craig knocks this sophmore effort out of the park. With a much more subtle, less in your face metal rooted sounding album, Jonny Craig's voice is put on a pedestal that can hardly be matched by any artist today. Craig's voice is able to truely show it's mettle without the hard guitar riffs, as in Relativity, drowing him out. (Although i found Relativity to be an amazing album in itself.) All in all, an extremely solid sophmore attempt, well worth the wait and money. Every song sends chills down my spine as Craig's immense range seems to echo through my mind. A true work of art by a master of his trade. Well done Emaraosa, well done.

- :(

what happened to emarosa :(...i loved the first album...and i was just thinking hey they probibly came out with a new album...and this is what i find :( booohooo

- Let

I'm not biased, due to the fact that I stopped listening to Emarosa over two years ago when I got bored. This is not "Emarosa" anymore. I think the band should seriously reconsider renaming themselves, because they really have changed their sound. This CD isn't bad; however, it's miles away from what they used to be. I could rag on the album all day (Mr. Craig whines ninety percent of the time), but I won't. Safe to say, nothing's new here. More of what the teenage girls want.

- In all honesty.

This album is, miraculous at least, anyone not impressed, most likely didn't give the album time to grow on them, I allow, each song to catch my interest one-by-one, by listening to all of them in a shuffled pattern, and wanting to hear more of that certain sound after awhile. Of course, anyone that listens to Emarosa, knows Jonny Craig can deal multiple eargasms. Not gonna lie, he's a beautiful talent, and the instrumentals, are very noticeable. 5 Stars without a doubt. I will never, stop listening to Emarosa, and this album has given me reason to back that statement up. Best songs, in my opinion, as of now; Share the Sunshine Young Blood (Very Dance-able), and The Game Played Right. Enjoy this fantastic album. ;D

- i dont think so..

I'm done with this band now, old Emarosa was the best and Relativity was pretty good too but Jonny was perfect in Dance Gavin Dance, now that hes got all these different projects going on his voice has gone mainstream and I cant tell if I'm listening to his solo album, isles and glaciers, or Emarosa. I was a big Jonny Craig fan even back when he sang in Ghost Runner on Third. Plain and simple...it's all about his voice now. The music used to be innovative and different from other post hardcore bands. Now it's like ok the "great Jonny Craig" is our vocalist so we dont have to try as hard with our music, just play a few chords and we've got a song here. I listened through about half of the album before I actually got tired of hearing Jonny's voice, and the music wasn't keeping me tuned in for long...to me this band is no longer Emarosa but just 'Jonny Craig'. I'm not hating on this band, it's just disappointing to see two great bands like Dance Gavin Dance and Emarosa go in the wrong direction by their singers.

- Best Emarosa CD by far!

Every track on this cd is very catchy. Someone who likes arena rock that's catchy and has amazing vocals needs to buy this album. The best song on the cd is Broken vs The Way We Were Born, with 2nd and 3rd going to Share the Sunshine Young Blood and Truth Hurts While Laying On Your Back. Get this cd today. What on earth are you waiting for?

- Love Jonny..

i Loved Dance Gavin DAnce when jonny was in it, his voice is one of a kind. This is first i've heard of Emarosa and i think this album is amazing. jonny is a brillant singer.. i wish DGD would've kept him, but this album proves that he can sing anywhere he goes

- change

everyone getting mad about this cd being so different from the old emarosa needs to calm down. If you want to listen to a band who makes the same cd over and over with a new album name you should go listen to nickelback.

- THIS IS NOT ALTROCK... This is a little something called post-hardcore.

iTunes... you disappoint me.

- Depends on your mindset.

If you go into this album thinking and comparing to only pre-Johnny Craig emarosa, yes, you will be dissapointed. No one ever said that this emarosa is bad, though. It provides catchy tunes and still flawless vocals from Johnny. No question this isn't the "old" emarosa, but it's new. And change isn't always bad.

- well i dont wanna see it anymore to bad hes not me and these feelings u just cant ignore!

we are life.... amzing album jonnys best

- Epic!

If you dont love this you might as well be deaf :)

- Great.

I really enjoyed Relativity. But I felt that it was a little hard to listen to because the songs didn't have choruses. However on the self-titled my only issue with Relativity has been addressed and what is left is a masterpiece. Great song writing mixed with Jonny's awesome voice make this one of my favorite albums so far this year. I would recommend buying the album in it's entirety but a few of my favorites are Pretend.Relive.Regret, A Toast to the Future Kids!, I Still Feel Her, Pt. 4, and We are Life. Definatly check this album out.

- I'm sorry Emarosa,

As I previously gave this album a bad review. I have listened to it thoroughly now, and I must say it has grown on me tremendously. Yes, it is different, but it is also a very powerful album displaying johnny's amazing range alongside great music. If you liked relativity, listen to this, and it WILL grow on you. My favorite song: I still feel her pt.4
