Satch Boogie by Joe Satriani Song Info
"Satch Boogie" is the fifth song from the album "Surfing with the Alien" and along with "Surfing with the Alien" is one of Satriani's most famous songs. The song was considered the 55th greatest guitar solo ever by Guitar World Magazine readers on the "100 Greatest Guitar Solos" list. The solo is done by fast tapping, hammer-ons, and pull-offs. It also appears in the popular video games Guitar Hero: World Tour, Guitar Hero On Tour: Decades, and as DLC in Rock Band 2. In all three cases it is the most difficult song for the guitar instrument. The song is based on the idea of "swing drummer Gene Krupa playing his kit and falling down the stairs simultaneously, but keeping his swing going all the while".
