I have been a Taylor for awhile now. Wiz has been making some amazing, origional and inventive mixtapes since Prince of the City 2. Between Flight School, the classic Kush and OJ, and How Fly ft. Currency Wiz Khalifa has an enourmous amount of talent. Yet in his official debut album it seems he is leering more towards a pop/hip-hop sensation as apposed to his origins which consist of intelligent and classic beats and fresh, powerful lyrics. While he has dominated the mixtape scene, it can be understood that there are alot of beurocratic politics in releasing an album which could be a potetial explanation for more singsong melody's. To get an appropriate understanding of his style simply listen to 'On My Level ft. Too $hort'. Black and Yellow is a single radio pop mix for which i personally have little love, but it is a single and should be enjoyed as shuch. Overall this is a very upbeat album which isn't confusing for most Taylor Gang fans, but I think it is an overall consensus for us to hear more of his harder rap beats reaching back to Cabin Fever, Kush and OJ, and Prince of the City 2. Wiz I do understand what you have done with this but I think we all want to hear some more on what you have to offer on your next album. Your a prolific and taleted artist and I know you'll knock us all out with the next one...until then TGOD.

Aside from a few tracks, this is a pretty solid major label debut from Wiz. It's not near what his mixtapes have come to be, and I think it's what fans EXPECTED, just not what we wanted. Props to Wiz for taking his brand to the mainstream, he's on the radio now and still selling shows out - looking forward (still) to more releases like Kush & OJ, and a another project hopefully with Spitta. My favorite tracks are; On My Level with Too $hort, Rooftops with Curren$y. I skip #3, 4, 7, 8, 9 & 10 everytime.

Ohhh wiz has done it again!! He is a wiz at being wiz. Not whiz as in pee or the one that starts with j (the lonely island sings it; in my pants) cuz that's grody. Good job khalifa make us prouder in the future :$)

Wiz is a performer and an artist that I can say has a whole lot to offer. Everyone is trying to be with what the next underground movement will be and believe me NOBODY is doing anything new that hasn't been seen under the sun.

I believe that the Record Label had more say than Wiz in the album. His Mixtapes are better...got a few good songs but not worth it.

Wiz did it again. His mixtapes are amazing so its about time a company realizes him. Some people might not buy this because all of his songa they actually PUT on the radio are $h!t. But this album has some amazing laidback beats, the best one is On My Level. Basically theres a couple of skips...but its worth it

All this is: a few techno/acoustic riffs that were made into songs when he decides to become a singer instead of a rapper, now. Curren$y is OK, on this album, but Fly Solo was by far the worst song. Wiz Khalifa tries to do his Bruno Mars Lazy Song impression, but he's still singing about champagne? I completely wasted my money on this and I thought the songs here would be more like Black and Yellow, and like his old stuff. Three more sellouts this year. (Cudi, Wiz, wil.iam)

If ur a true wiz fan u should support him even when he switches it up. I give this album a 4/5 but i give Kush & Oj a 5/5

It's never going to be considered a great album, but to be honest as an album to just sit and relax to, you can't really do any better and that's why I like it because sometimes that's all you really need.

What is this about a man being a sellout? How can we question a musician when we don't know his motivations. Maybe he craved the money all long but you just didn't know This is a good album, whether he changed styles for commercial success so be it - I like it and so do many others Keep it real keep it broke i once heard.

Good album but not as upbeat as his mix tapes... In terms on being a 'sell out' im guessing when Wiz wasnt signed he could write songs he wanted to write. When he got signed he would have been asked to create an ablum that the lable liked and saw as sellable.....and here it is tbh im sure its not got anything to do with what wiz wants...

Album is really good, will have you listening for weeks, every track is good, I wouldn't say their is a bad track on their, defonetly invest in this otherwise your missing out.

This album is generic as hell which Wiz clearly made just to get sales and radio spins. His old stuff is far better. His subject matter consists of poor rhymes about weed and girls. AVOID

Black and Yellow is a quality single, but it doesn't represent the whole album. The collection is chilled, with many stand out tracks and no filler. Wiz is like a young Snoop, approaching the top of his game. Well worth getting. If you haven't got his past 2 independent albums, or the many mixtapes - go get those now. Pure class.

Like some other reviewers I have followed wiz Khalifa since the beginning "prince of the city" etc... And just to say I'm glad he finally made it he waited long enough. Anyway this album is an amazing , hip-hop / chill out album it combines the two. This is by far not him at his best but none the less every track on here has the you feeling like you can Listen to the album on repeat so it's bit confusing. But what I'm trying to say is it's a worth the buy it's not a waste of money trust me and for the fans that have followed from the beginning you can atleast by this cause of all the free tapes. The stand out tracks - When I'm Gone - a nice chilled song On My level - nice chorus and a few nice lines No Sleep - just good lol The Race - has a feel of the old wiz Roll up - one of my personal favourites Black and yellow - the anthem of the album And last but not least... Wake up - love the lyrics simple as that As you see not many tracks I left out and this maybe my easiest 5* rating the next big album to watch for Tha Carter IV

after reading some of the reviews i was considering not getting this... but im glad i did. wiz has smashed it!!!!

Managed to get this album last week due to the leak, but I can gladly say it is what I expected. The songs are chillaxed and the vast majority have a decent and recognisable beat. Standout songs are The Race, Rooftops, Hopes and dreams and wake up. However, the album itself is not as good as his first breakthrough underground albums such as Burn after rolling, prince of the City's and his duo mixtape with Curren$Y (Who is beginning to hit his prime lyrically). I would definatly recommend buying this album as it is likely it will be one of the best Hip/hop albums of the year. 4 stars because so many tracks were released prior to the release date. Overall, Wiz Khalifa is changing for the better and Im sure he'll continue to produce mix tapes from his original style but he has waited long enough to be recognised and he will soon become big a long with Kid Cudi, Mac Miller and Curren$y.

If you want to listen to his old stuff and mixes then keep listening but you can't blame an artist for earning more by going for the main stream route... Wiz has been putting out mixtapes for a long time for his fans, to build his support and it has certainly paid off. This album is going to sell. Hes got a lot of relaxed and chill songs for summer which are just generally amazing. Fans maybe dissappointed because they know that his style has change, which it has, but when it comes to making money on music, this is how its done, signing a big record deal they expect money to roll in. However hes done well to keep as much style of his as he can on his songs. overall i like it alot.
