- Best songs I've heard in my life

One word. EPIC.

- Getting better and better

Switchfoot continues to improve upon their already highly refined sound. This album rocks in every way possible. They go hard, they go light, and they continue to glorify God in their music. Simply beautiful.

- Ah-Maz-Ing. Nuff said.

One of the best.

- They've still got it.

goodness, they know how to touch hearts, don't they?

- sl

i love switchfoot especially this album

- Great album

Switchfoot releases yet another great album. I would expect nothing less from them. Classy musicians.

- Raising the Bar

This album is already the best of the year, hands down. "The War Inside" me is one sided. They just raised the BAR.

- AMAZING album

Switchfoot is my all-time favorite band because they sound awesome and the songs have a very good message in them. This album was great sounding and the songs fit perfectly well together just like any switchfoot album would, and the last song totally topped the whole thing off! Let's give it up for switchfoot!!!

- an inspiring album

This album is AWESOME. although I was not expecting so much "rap" the key tracks like afterlife, the original, and dark horses make up for that. this album has a surprising amount of energy and songs like Dark Horses get my adrenaline pumping full force while sitting in a chair. A five star album and my 2nd favorite.

- Absolutely Amazing!

I've followed Switchfoot for a while and have most of their albums. This one tops them all! If you love this group, this album is a must have. They still have the deep lyrics and bring a great sound to the table. You won't be disappointed!

- We all have our Vice Verses

Switchfoot is on a roll and seems to have hit a high point on this album. It is very muscular witha great groove through out.I was impressed with the vocal phrashing as it seems Jon is in a grove.Personal favorites are The War Inside, the spoken word beat infused Selling The News,The pure pop of Restless, the intimate Vice Verses and standout Where I belong.I highly recommened this album while it is different from other switchfoot albums, the boldness of vice verses makes it stand alone in there impressive catalog.

- ummm meh

whew.. can we just be honest and say this is probably their weakest to date… the thought that comes to mind is store bought

- Switchfoot as Themselves

I've had a love/dislike relationship with this band for the last couple years. I've been listening to them since 2000 and love their older stuff. I've felt their last two albums were less than what they could accomplish which made me hesitate to buy this album. I'm glad I bought it. This is a defining album for this group. All the songs are distinctly Switchfoot and there is a wonderful blend of their new harder sound and their original simple sound. The words in this album are genuinely heartfelt and you can feel every word Foreman sings. This is their best album to date.

- One of the Year's BEST

It's right up there with Foo Fighters's Wasting Light. It's incredibly good!

- Great! :)

This is a great album. I didn't love Hello Hurricane, like most people do, and Restless is probably my least favorite on this album. Jon just isn't singing his best on that song, and I don't like those whiny, strenuous, never-ending songs like that. The rest of the album is awesome and it made me smile at some points listening to it for the first time. I like what he wrote about this time around its nice. Good stuff right here.

- WOW

This is a great album. I agree with liveridelx nobody knowes about switchfoot!! Spread the word.

- Step up from HH

This album took me a second to get used to. I love switchfoot and after hello hurricane, great album by the way, I was just kind of disappointed with the musical creativity in it being a drummer and musician myself, I was looking for something more back to a great sound and lyrics like nothing is sound and oh gravity. After a while though it really started getting to me and I love it thanks to songs like restless selling the news souvenirs where i belong dark horses…heck really all of them are great! Step up from HH I think, so i am pleased :)

- Very Good!

I have been a fan of Switchfoot for YEARS! First heard them on KLove Radio....now I own all 4 of their CD's and have seen them in concert. Truly love their sound, their music and their message! You guys are great. Plz keep up the good work! God Bless!!

- Wow

Switchfoot went really alternative sounding with some of the songs, but stuck with their original amazing sound. with others. I recently got to see them on their tour and I loved them. Dark horses has such a cool meaning. Also, Jon can rock the rapping thing in selling the news. This album totally rocks!

- Great!

This and hello hurricane are the two best things since sliced bread!!!!

- A Renewed Love

To be honest with you, I had become bored with Switchfoot. None of their recent albums had really done much to resonate with me... but this one is different. It is musically excellent and lyrically spectacular! I really feel that their lives as Christians is very evident on this album. The lyrics seem to be real and honest, with plenty of encouragement and exhortations intermixed. Both the music and lyrics on this one demand to be cranked! Thanks for giving those of us that are following Christ, a rock album that is deserving of recognition, while ministering to something more than our ears.

- "Let's go, boys; play it out!"

I've been waiting for Vice Verses for a very long time, and - as a longtime fan - I was worried that VV couldn't live up to the expectations I had laid on it. But my fears proved to be unfounded as soon as the opening chords of 'Afterlife' blasted through my speakers. Now, I know that some people have a different opinion than me about the quality of these songs. However, in my opinion, Vice Verses is Switchfoot's best release by far. In fact, even my least favorite song on the album (Dark Horses) is still better than most of their other material. Highlights on the album are the first three songs, Thrive, Rise Above It, and Where I Belong. Even though VV may not be as lyrically complex as the band's previous albums, I actually kind of like the direction they've taken. It's less cynical. VV encapsulates the goods and the bads in life. It's a welcome change musically as well. Everything sounds so fresh that you begin to wonder if it's still Switchfoot in places. But any risks the band takes pay off very well. All in all, Switchfoot has crafted their most cohesive and stunning album yet in the form of Vice Verses. In my opinion, this is the way Switchfoot always should have sounded. I hope they continue this new direction in the future. Keep it up, boys; play it out!

- Switchfoot is Amazing

This album is amazing and twice as better in the concert I went to

- NOT Their Best Effort

Sorry, but I refuse to jump onto the bandwagon. This is nowhere near the musical experience of Hello Hurricane nor Oh Gravity, and I still consider The Beautiful Letdown and Nothing Is Sound as their two best albums. Honestly, the only songs worth listening to are Dark Horses and Restless...maybe Afterlife. I am truly disappointed with this album, because Switchfoot has always been one of my favorite bands. Hopefully their next effort with have more energy, variety, and overall appeal compared to this sub-par release.

- Switchfoot rocks

Vice Verses is by far the best album to be released this year. I've been anticipating it's release for a very long time. Vice Verses definitely expresses the polarity of life. "Let's go boys, play it loud!"

- Switchfoot at Their Prime

This album is hands down Switchfoot's most refreshing and diverse album to date. For those who were turned off to Hello Hurricane, say Hello to Vice Verses. This album is sure to bring back the Switchfoot fans and to reel in a lot more. Switchfoot has a tendency to try a different sound with each album they produce, and this sound works perfectly for them. Vice Versus is undoubtedly their best work yet.

- Great for running...

One of the best albums I've heard in a long time. Every song is excellent and will speak to a lot of hearts as it did mine. great job

- Ditto (on the amazing album)!!!!!!

Ohhhhh Jon Foreman and Co. have done it again... I hate to say what everyone else is saying but yes this album is possibly the best album i have ever heard. The mood swings from introspective (vice verses, restless) to fist pumping (dark horses, the original). Enough said, BUY THE ALBUM ALREADY!!!

- Perfection

This album is the best yet! (did you catch that?) God's plan shows through Switchfoot.

- the best

everything that i expect from switchfoot musics

- Ehh..

Absolutely love this band, not so much this album.

- Switchfoot does it again!

Saw them in concert the week this album came out! They put on a great show. Switchfoot is an amazing band. Everything about their music is great: the lyrics, the message, the instrumentation, and the vocals. My favorite tracks are Dark Horses and The War Inside, but there isn't a bad track on the album. I highly recommend this album to anyone who is a fan of Alternative rock or Christian rock. They do both very well.

- Must Listen

Great album

- Still The Good 'Ol Switchfoot Boys...

A pretty solid album overall=) My personal favorite of theirs, is still Hello Hurricane, though. Honestly, all their albums are true greatness in it's own way, but I think they achieved the usual sought-after attempt of perfecting every song, when they released "Hello". I can't say the same with this one. I love "Selling the news" "Restless" & "The war inside" the best. But in the end, they're still incredibly talented artists, and no matter what they write, it's ALWAYS gonna be better than whatever circulates mainstream radio today.

- Amazing!!

One of the best albums this year

- vice verses rocks

awsome band nice lryics and just an awsome christian band all together go switchfoot!

- Decent

It is good. Definitely worth it. I like 10 out of 12 songs so far. But I have been listening to it quite a bit. Dark horses, afterlife, the war inside are my absolute favorites.

- Best

I was meant to live for this.

- Born for the blue skies.....

Switchfoot is an amazing band, and are Christians!!!! kinda hard to pull that off, but switchfoot does with flying colors. My fav song for vv has to be dark horses. Also check out the following switchfoot songs; the sound (j m Perkins blues), mess of me, stars, and this is home. I own all of their albums, because they are easily my favorite band. I was really bummed that I wasn't able to go to their last concert. A bunch of my friends went, and said that they rocked the house. Keep up the good work, guys!!!!

- awesome

switchfoot is my favorit band. i cant decide what the best song is but out of this album i like darkhorse and afterlife. keep rockin!

- five stars!

i would give five star to most all of them except the original and selling the news. selling the news is a funny but odd song, and the original has good lyrics but not a catchy toon

- Never cease to amaze

It seems like every time switchfoot comes out with a new album, it is my new favorite. No exception here. Five records in a row that have blown minds. The After Life starts the record off with a very similar feel to Needle and Haystack Life. The Original feels like a song from Legend of Chin, but with more of the tone of something from Hello Hurricane. War Inside is a very new angle to Switchfoot. Very bassy and groovy, awesome new look! Restless reminds me a lot of Dare You to Move, poppy, but not too mainstream. Blinding Light is another somewhat poppy song, but still absolutely awesome. Selling the news is the oddest of all, Foreman unravels a completely new side of himself. He "talks" the verses, but I love it. From there on, it is simply vintage switchfoot, each song with a new feel, but without a doubt straight from the heart of the band. Dark Horses is very similar to that of Mess of Me or The Sound. Hard hitting and energetic, this whole album is a must have!

- Amazing.

Best album ever!!! Just amazing! Especially Thrive! I can relate so much to all the song. I love it! Switchfoot is the best band ever.

- This is the best album,

NUFF' SAID!

- what happened

A big step back after the genious of hello hurricane. Besides dark horses, afterlife, restless, and the original- the rest of the album was extremely disappointing. Don't believe the hype.

- OK

Good going switchfoot about time you started making good music.

- Pure Genius

I have all of Switchfoot's albums. I am completely mesmerized with this one. It has truly made me a believer again. Out of the gate... "Afterlife" brought me to tears and everything in between really makes you reevaluate your priorities. But then to close it with "Where I Belong" Is just a confirmation that as a Christian you are not the only one with that yearning to be home - the home that Christ has prepared for us. Thank you Jon and Tim and boys for sharing such thoughtful and meaningful words about salvation and the love of Christ into beautiful songs for the entire world. God Bless You. Maggie Conant

- The Best Yet

So thankful for this band!

- Happy to see switchfoot spotlighted on the Itunes home page

I hate it how a ton of mediocre pop musicians make all the headlines, while bands with meaningful lyrics and catchy songs like Switchfoot get less attention than they should. The songs in this album stand out, provide a nice, classic rock and roll experience, and go heavy on thoughtful lyrics. Thank you Switchfoot, keep up the good work.

- Best of Old and New

Switchfoot's eighth set, Vice Verses, brings together their roots from the very beginning along with their newer sounds to formulate a piece that will please fans of the same way, old and new. This album serves up the same as the last time for the most part, as Hello Hurricane comes through a lot on these songs. It's no coincedance as these albums were written in the same period. The only thing is Vice Verses brings a certain edge with things the band has never tried before- but the risks were well worth it. Afterlife (5/5): Nice opener, power anthem with a good message. The Original (3/5): Not bad, the drums and guitars throughout are infectious. The War Inside (4/5): Good edge, gives it a darker touch. Unique from the others in sound. Restless (5/5): One of the better, this "ballad" showcases the more acoustic set and Jon's mad vocals. Blinding Light (4/5): The early Switchfoot comes into play here, but with a twist. Really relaxed. Selling the News (4/5): Many seem to be iffy about the spoken verses, but the different style is a fresh approach that gets stuck. Thrive (5/5): For being one of the slower, its one of the best. The simple instrumentation is breathtaking with its impactful lyrics. Dark Horses (5/5): Lots of edge here, really gives the spotlight over to the bass and drums. Souvenirs (5/5): This mid-tempo, feel good brings in the surfer, beachy sound. Similar to HH's "Your Love Is A Song." Rise Above it (4/5): Cool sound, the cowbell and various other intrumentation provide a chill yet strong song. Vice Verses (5/5): One of the band's best ever. So raw and subtle, but so powerful in meaning. Awesome. Where I Belong (5/5): Sums up Vice well. The reference to Afterlife and the big percussion drums at the end finish it big and well.
