is it just me or are they keep getting better and better

This is not the Shinedown I am used to. I rarely listen to this album. (Can I have my money back?) Hope the next one is like their previous work or else I'm don't with this band. They need to keep true to themselves.

I heard them live at the Uproar Festival live and was really impressed. Once I started listening to their cd's they are super dinamic with their artistic ablities to create music. This and The Sound of Madness are my two favorite and if you can get the song Son of Sam I would also recommend. Enjoy! \m/...\m/

Every track on this album is great (minus "Nowhere kids" and "My name"). The rest of the album makes up for these two songs though IMO. This album may have replaced "Sound of madness" as my favorite album. Looking forward to their next album!

I waited for this album for months and got the CD the day it came out after getting the Bully single. Love every track..

This has got to be my favorite album by far. Sure the sound of madness had good songs in it but you can't beat Adrenaline, Enemies, Nowhere Kids and for my sake. I'm more into the faster harder rock like Adrenaline but a good soft one like Miracle or Through the Ghost is great too. My point is this is a great album for any Shinedown fan, hard or soft rock.

But 3 stars is awful for Shinedown album. They're an incredible band, and I get that they like to change up their sound on every album. But I guess after they try 3 different variations on their rock sound that I love, they're due for one that I really don't like. The whole pop-rock description thing is actually pretty apparent through the album. No songs are really awful but nothing stands out to me. But it's hard to follow up sound of madness (my favorite Shinedown). All this said, it's still pretty good, just not my thing, sounds too pop-y… I mean like 1/2 of pop songs say "put your hands in the air"… I can't believe they have said that now too (some songs fall short to the shinedown standard on the lyrics front).

This album is awesome. I have not stopped listening to it for months. It's just as great if not better than the last album. It has deep songs, angry songs, happy songs, etc. and they mostly all have a different sound. They keep it interesting throughout the whole album. To introduce this, I am a huge Shinedown fan, I own all their albums and have seen them live multiple times. A lot of fans seem to be complaining that this album is much softer than the last, with more power ballads than the hard rock sound of Sound of Madness. While this is true, in my opinon this isn't really a bad thing. Most of their incredible songs have been slower, such as the crow and the butterfly, if you only knew, 45, simple man, exc. These slower songs on this album are what really make it wonderful, and stand up to the high expectations set by their previous slow songs. Through the ghost, unity, I'll follow you, amarylis and miracle really show off Shinedowns talent at songwriting. They put so much emotion and meaning in their music, mre than almost any band currently writing music. This becomes apparent the more you listen to this album, and you will definitely notice this if you ever get the chance to see them live(I highly recommend it). Now on to the faster, heavier songs on the album. These are wonderful too. Bully is a stand-out heavier track for me, because it is so relatable. I put it up there with Sound of Madness as their best heavy song ever. The other hard rock songs, adrenaline, nowhere kids and enemies are all excellent. All in all, I consider Amaryllis to be Shinedowns greatest record yet, ever so slightly beating Sound of Madness. Buy the whole record!

Second Chance brought me into Shinedown and Sound of Madness and Amaryllis are my 2 favorite albums! I'm looking forward to the next album!

shinedown is ok. Enemies is pretty cool, but I don't know any more songs cuz me friend showed them to me. Any way, I'm glad they don't cuss a lot cuz that ruins it. I like skillet, disciple, red, pillar, and tfk lots better.

Shinedown is an amazing band and I've been following their music for years. They relate to me word for word oftentimes. This album is a fantastic following Sound of Madness. I would say that this was their weakest outing as a group, but its still shinedown. Sure they may have made more radio friendly music as opposed to the hard hitting jams of Sound of Madness but don't ignore Amaryllis. Still a darn solid album. I recommend Adrenaline, Nowhere Kids and Unity.

Love shinedown, but this is about 50% good. Distinctly lacking in those fast vitriolic ranting songs with lovely dirty background riff. Too many slow paced radio songs

And it just gets better & better after every listen - I've had this on constant repeat & whilst its all killer, no filler the real stand out tracks are Adrenaline, Enemies, Nowhere Kids plus the lead single Bully plus Shinedowns mellower side on I'll Follow You & For My Sake. All in all, their best yet! Buy this album - YOU NEED IT!!

Unlike these bands that churn out album after album, Shinedown took 4 years to pen 'Amaryllis' and it is well and truly worth the wait. Each of their 4 albums are brilliant in their own way and this album is no different. Combining elements of 'Sound Of Madness', 'Us and Them' and 'Leave a Whisper', 'Amaryllis' deserves all the credit it gets. Amazing! Shinedown are Back!!

Bit frustrated to many radio friendly soft songs. There at the best with their faster paved meaty rock songs. Even though the first albums had slower songs on the bonus cd had a few proper rock tubes on. Shame they haven't done the same this time. Their starting to sound like nikleback. Before this album was released I knew sound of madness was going to be tough to beat but I think they've done it! Definitely different to sound of madness and I guess it will appear with time as to whether for the better but loving it so far!

Don't get me wrong, like most of you I was wondering if that was going to reach the dizzying heights that the near perfect Sound of Madness record left off, and I had my doubts, but quite frankly this is amazing! Songs like Bully, Adrenaline, Enemies, For My Sake, Nowhere Kids, My Name this album does not shy away from the heavy, gritty, tunes we know and love shinedown for, and not forgetting Unity a catchy radio pleaser to the masses, Amaryllis has everything - and more.

They have done it again. It's been a long wait but it was worth it now that it's finally out! See you at Download 2012 :D
