This is sick Daft Punk are back yeahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!
This is an awesome album and definitely one of the best of the decade. It has hints of 'new' yet it remains with the whole retro electro feel. Incredible.
I have heard a couple previews of songs, and I can already say that Daft Punk will be back in the glory once more as the fathers of electronic music !
Really good songs and are really catchy!
When I first got this album I didn't like it but the more I've listened to it I've really enjoyed it and I'd say it's one of my favourite albums ever.
I would argue this is their best album to date. Well worth the wait. It pays homage not only to disco, but the origins of electronic music (I'm thinking 'Giorgio by Moroder' here). A wonderful album, with hints of a futuristic Pink Floyd album :) A wonderful experience. Love it.
I love daft punk They are by far my favorite musicians there music never seems to not excite me when they make new songs its always a new type of music. Thanks Daft punk for such an awesome new album. It is definitely the Top album of 2013
Just had a listen to "Get Lucky" recently, and can't wait to hear the rest of the album! Its gonna be awesome!
Daft Punk have taken an approach similar to that on Discovery - it's pretty mainstream, but incredibly catchy, it will be massive. But anyone doing a Review who calls them the fathers of electronic music..... ever heard of Kraftwerk? Or Chic even, as this new Daft Punk album is pretty disco-fied, and Nile Rodgers even plays on it. Aside from their absolutely awesome approach to doing a live album (Alive, 2007) Daft Punk haven't fathered anything utterly original in the studio since Homework in 1997.
Loved it! Can't wait.
Listening to the stream i can say this is not daft punks loudest most electroest/loud album. This is a solid album made to be a statement to the dull repeated electric genre of today. I hope and excpect to see something more like discovery in the future but for now lets just relax to this really chilled out album
not impressed... It's not the Daft Punk I loved. Stop making reviews if you haven't brought it! Overzealous lot...
Love this album so much, people are saying they don't like it because it's not their normal style, it's not meant to be. It's such a refreshing change from the bedroom produced tracks that are dominating EDM as of late. As a 16 year old Daft Punk have given me something from this era that resembles something of real music. Must buy album.
Done it again. Sensory bliss.
Hard to listen to good quality tunes nowadays but this fella's got it right once again. Will love to hear from them often tough.
Lets be honest, we don't even need to listen to it to know that it'll be a 5 star album.
Awesome album :D So much musical glory in one package!
The new album is absolutely amazing. It so mellow and chilled back. Would love to hear a little more of the old electro like your last songs, eg one more time and around the world. Was looking forward to seeing those famous dragon ball z type music videos as well. Can't wait till the next album but a good buy.
I know my only complaint will be that its been categorised under "Pop"
Can't even believe how good it is they've come back and definitely absolutely killed it AMAZING
Think this may be one of the most innovative interesting albums I have heard for a long time. To be honest not something I instantly think "yes" but a grower and difficult to describe initial emotions. "Interesting, innovative and different" spring to mind but to me that often demonstrates a great album which will be remembered for years to come and I have been around along enough to say that...
Looks amazing
To be honest I was really looking forward to getting the album! But then I previewed every song (which I recommend you do so) gosh, I only like one song! Get lucky, it's now me and my friends song... But either way I only listened to them for something like half a second... DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!
I would say without a shadow of a doubt Album Of The Year. Amazing. Can't describe how shocked and pleased I was with the outcome of this album. Total change in style and definitely Daft Punk's best album. Shocking to the senses.
You can tell a great album when you can just play it over and over and like every song. If you like good music get this album.
Good record. Good to listen to but very different to their old stuff. To be honest I was expecting more... still solid work though =)
Love it
Breathless. Nothing more to say. Definitely the best album of 2013
How can you guys write a review and give 5 stars????? Definently NOT worth 5 stars sorry!!! 3 at most.
Not feeling it. Preview before you buy.
Don't believe the hype
Like, best album Evaaararrr, definite buy
Best album by far!
This is real music with real instrument samples and not just a computer program just translating notes…. If you dislike this album because it wasn’t “hard enough” or “dance enough,” then good, stick with your "crumby dime-a-dozen EDM four beat, four beat, four beat, build, cut the music for 4 counts, drop" stuff. That’s not at all what they were aiming for and I’d rather not have you as a fellow Daft fan… The EDM market is so flooded with no-names and horrible repetition, and that’s why they didn’t head that direction. “Give Life Back to Music” and take a look how this album was produced, then watch some of these new kids just clicking things on a home pc with the same filter the next guy uses on his track… It just doesn’t compare.. This is structured music and not just collected sounds. If you touch yourself to EDM, this one isn’t for you.. and I’m glad this pushed you away instead of you trying to group Daft into your favorite (insert no name artist here) playlists!
Awesome album and pharell is great
Amazing. There is a reason why it won a grammy for album of the year. Just a masterpiece of music, timeless.
You can sit there & listen to every song & feel the love that was put into it. I know some people were expecting the album to be like past workings. But DP evolves with everything they do, it's like they don't repeat the same thing twice. I really love every song on this album. Daft Punk is pretty much all I listen to & this album tend to come before the others. Unless I happen to be watching "Interstella 5555" then it's discovery jamming for a good while. Much love to DAFT PUNK & Daft Punk fans !!!
This is easily one of the best albums of the past decade, and I bet the next decade too. Very highly recommended.
I always enjoyed the kind of slow song by DP and this album gave me what I like.I do really like the electronic sound of DP but this just shows that they can branch out.
I'm not a big fan of modern electronic music. But I like this album cause it sounds like it could be from the 70's-80's ..if u want something different then get this album✌️🍀👍
It's good stuff, you'll want to cherry pick certain songs and try to find stuff you like but I recommend listening to all of the songs.
This album means SO MUCH to me. And it absolutely deserved album of the year. Random Access Memories is an album that changed my universe forever, hopefully it made all of us see what real music is. No other album has had such an affect on me. Most people probably think Daft Punk took on a new style for this album. The truth is, they've been making disco music since their first album, Homework. They captured the essence and the groove of disco music with "Around the World" in the 90's. And they continued that with a full album of sampled disco-flavored tunes with Discovery in 2001. In Random Access Memories, the robots have taken what they've learned about live instrumentation and they're applying it to their electronic sound to make a magnificent tribute to the music that have inspired them. Their reaching for the roots of the music they make. And they're reaching for the stars. The genre of disco has resurfaced recently. I'd bet my life that Daft Punk inspired all these artists to make this kind of music.
Daft Punk is one of the best electronic artists out there, hell maybe even one of the best out there in general. This album only solidifies this statement. RAM has honestly changed the game. I've never heard an album that sounded like this one. It brings the old disco and 80's sounds into the modern era. This beautiful combination of the two eras brings forth some of my favorite songs like "Give Life Back to Music", "Beyond", "Motherboard", "Touch", and "Fragments of Time". Touch though is something special, it has such beautiful lyrics and sound. It is probably one of the most immersive musical experiences I've ever gone through. This album is a musical journey that deserves a listen from everybody.
I love Daft Punk but this album isn't as good as other albums like Homework and Discovery. However this album redeems it's self with masterpieces like Touch and Contact which stands out as the only song on this album to use samples.
This album is one of the best of the whole time.but you need to pay attention to details.thats what makes this outstanding
This isn't bad because it isn't EDM, like many reviewers seem to think that their fans miss. This album is bad because it is filled with poor sound and cliche chord progressions and melodies. This being the case, this album is miles behind in its time period and an overall disappointment and huge step down from their slick sound and chord progressions in Discovery and TRON: Legacy. No song stands out. Get Lucky is the only mildly decent song on the alum, and even that disappoints. If you want the album, I can't tell you no, but I am just giving the reason why this album doesn't live up to the Daft Punk name.
Wanna see Daft Punk before I die!
Masterpiece! All I got to say
Great stuff from daft punk
Although they changed their style a little, it's still better than the rest of the trash out there
Whether it's Discovery, Homework, Human After All, or the Tron: Legacy soundtrack, Daft Punk can honestly do no wrong. This album, relased only 2 years ago, proves that statement to the farthest extent. "Random Access Memories" is not only their best album to date, but also one of the best albums of this decade. In a day in age where music is infested with un-original pop songs and people admire no talent hacks who are only known for making tabloid headlines instead of making music, Daft Punk as always has come to prove that music isn't dead. At the very start of "Give Life Back To Music" you can already tell that this album will be a great ride from start to finish. The album mixes catchy dance songs with very technologic sounding songs that would put the hyper person into a trance. The songs that stand out to me are "Give Life Back to Music" "Doin' It Right" "Lose Yourself to Dance" "The Game of Love" and "Touch". Some tracks "Contact" "Within" and "Motherboard" may not stand out as well as others, but are still enjoyable songs regardless. However, the two songs that make this whole album worth it are "Instant Crush" and the best summer anthem of the 21st century "Get Lucky". Due to the high amount of effort, fun, and originality put into this album, there is no denying that "Random Access Memories" truly deserved to called the best album of 2013 and even more deserving of the 5 Grammy noms they swept. Also featuring other great artist such as Pharell Wiliams, Nile Rodgers, Julian Casablancas, among others, "Random Access Memories" is in my opinion THE album of our time. Even if it's too early to say, I cannot to see what these artists from another world have in store for us next. A+
In the year 2000 I purchased a book, “Rolling Stones 500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. It is an amazing book. Each page has a giant picture of the album cover with the page next to it explaining why they chose it, who they influenced, who they were influenced by, etc. Obviously it started at 1 and went to 500. This hugely expanded my knowledge of some great music… Long story short - If I were to add an addendum to this book, I would most certainly induce this album, without a doubt, one of the greatest album that has been released in the past decade. And I am in no way a huge Daft Punk fan (as far as their past albums), but this really is inspired. Enough Said.
I was sitting in my dad's '07 Altima on a May afternoon waiting as he picked up my brother from school when I heard a tune on the radio that had a pre-chorus with harmonies reminiscent of an Earth, Wind & Fire song, and an ambition for nostalgia. Using the Shazam app, I discovered that this was Daft Punk's song ("Get Lucky" with Pharrell Williams), prompting me that a new album was expected. I pulled up iTunes and there it was: Random Access Memories. I was hesitant seeing the mixed reviews by iTunes customers, but after previewing every song I knew this album was great, so I bought it and gave it a listen. The album is a great introduction to the shift in Daft Punk's sound. Rather than picking up where 'Human After All' left off with its distorted beats-heavy sound, they took a step back to pay homage to the sound that inspired them: the sound of '70s L.A. club music, but that's not all. Daft Punk also seems to have infused another music scene of that era: progressive rock music, particularly of Pink Floyd's 'The Dark Side of the Moon.' And just like DSoTM, it took me on a marvelous journey through time and space, with both albums having an epic closing (comparing RAM's "Contact" to the Floyd's "Eclipse.") The album features live instrumentation courtesy of several carefully selected session musicians and even an orchestra like their work on the 'Tron: Legacy' soundtrack three years prior. The record is also a great audiophile's grab. The bass is smooth and everything from highs and lows are fine-tuned. The overall sound is pretty immersive (check out the watery 'blubs' on the last 7 seconds of "Motherboard," or the song "Touch," or better yet the whole album!) Without going into too much more detail, this album is a modern masterpiece. I also have it on vinyl because it's just that good. To my satisfaction, it won the Album of the Year Grammy (well deserved, too) making it the first electronic music album to win in that category. Definitely worth a listen.
Once I got this album I listened to it more than 20 times in a row (according to my play count on my iPod) before listening to any of my other music. If that isn't a sign of replayability, I don't know what is. This is up there with Discovery (another one of my all-time favorite albums from any artist). It is no wonder this album won so many Grammy awards.
love it. music hasn't been this passionate since the beatles
its a bland disco album end of story. repetitive and unprofessionally written. once you brainwash enough people they all start to follow.
Daft Punk's album Random Access Memories is more than just RAM, RAM doesn't tell a story like this album does. Starting with "Give Life Back to Music" then to "Giorgio by Moroder" and ending with "Contact" Daft Punk tells the story of our yearnings for success, our deepest thoughts and our innate passions. Daft Punk's ability to create music that is different than any other genre yet that is still pleasing to the ear is astounding. They have truly found the meaning behind the phrase; "Once you free your mind from the concept of harmony and music being correct you can so whatever you want" (Giorgio by Moroder). The real question is, can they follow this album?
An absolute masterpiece!
This album has some sick grooves, like on Motherboard and Touch. I love it all and recommend it.
This album is beautiful. It's new while also being classic and it's an experience all throughout. Every song has its own special meaning and if you sit back and close your eyes, every drum beat and touch of a synth will impact you. This is a must have.
All the songs are cool except Giorgio the moroder I don't get it
The Combination Platter of Pharrell Williams And Nile Rodgers, That In Itself Speaks Volumes! This Was a Phenominally Funky Album!

Never will I love another band more than these amazing robots people can go an make fun of there helmets an disco funk but that wonk change the way I feel about them.... Daft Punk shift to the disco genre with Random Access Memories. My picks on this album are "Give Life Back to Music", "The Game of Love", "Giorgio by Moroder", "Get Lucky" and "Instant Crush".
This is one of the most well-put-together albums that I've ever heard. The music type may not be for everyone, but they are pioneering new grounds of music. I could listen to this album on repeat for hours.
It's rare for a modern electronic musician to give homage to their predecessors, let alone devote a whole album to it. In this scene's unrelenting march for the "newest" sound it's refreshing to see a group pay respects to their roots. A true class act, they absolutely killed it in Berkeley 2009!
I started listening to Daft Punk since Tron Legacy in 2010 and they were AWESOME! Since then, throughout the years, My older brother showed me Homework and I thought it was absolutely brilliant! Then I checked out R3configur3d and it was a great remix album. But then...RAM was released...and I bought it on CD and I was somewhat...confused. My friends told me they wanted a new direction. I was just a little bit disappointed, so I stopped DP for a while. This year (lol) I remembered my brother telling me about Interstella 5555 and so I looked up the album Discovery. And I was just speechless...there weren't any words to describe the feeling of listening to Discovery. It was AMAZING! I kicked myself for not finding Discovery sooner! It would have been the greatest album to me back then and nothing could have beaten it. Discovery is one of my favorite albums by Daft Punk. AND I STILL HAVEN'T SEEN 5555 YET! All in all, RAM was an OK album, but I am very happy for buying Discovery. Great great album.... One more thing, I heard RAM is really mainstream and is just about equivalent to the stuff kids and teens listen to now like Ariana Grande, 5 seconds of summer, Nicki Minaj, one direction, Charli xicxxxicxcx (or whatever) and that Miley Cyrus lol.
Not a good Daft Punk album. However a surprisingly good Beegees album.
Love daft punk since day 1
I'm not going to call it BAD, but this style died off for a reason. It has cool parts like Giorgio by Moroder, Lose yourself to dance, and the radio edit version of get lucky. Those were all catchy in their own way, but everything else just isn't for me or other daft punk fans.
GET LUCKY FOR THIS ALBUM !!!
It's different from there other albums but change in this case is a great thing, the songs are very upbeat and catchy they deserved the Grammys they got for this album.
Seriously. Brain freeze... Yechhhh !!!
I love all this album!
Schtick…. as schtick as Justin Bieber in a French Euro revamp way…
At first I hated it. Now I love it. I was expecting some EDM but was greeted with "up all night to get lucky" being hum by all my friends. Although Get Lucky still kind of irritates me, this is because I hate pop music. Listening through this whole album, I am falling in love. Instead of being fully electronic DP decided to take a more natural route. I now respect this new sound and recommend it to long time DP fans and newcomers.
This album needs to have credit where credit is due. Daft punk, you've done outstanding work over the years, and have proved to the music industry that you still continue to do so. Bringing something new to the plate of EDM was a move that was bold. Funky, robotic, smooth, outer spacey, clean tracks that anyone with a great taste in music can simply enjoy.
I'm gonna be honest after many years without a Daft Punk album, I was hoping for a radio-friendly and electronic album like "Discovery" or "Homework" giving the amazing work the duo did on the "TRON: Legacy" soundtrack, however this album came unexpected for everyone and not what everyone expected to be, but then again it's a masterpiece and a musical journey you need to take. It gives life back to music, like the first song title of the album. You may not like it the first time or even the fourth time listening to it, but after a while you get the amazing work Daft Punk put out in this record, so many great musicians are featured and have this 70's, 80's vibe, it's so beautiful engineered to all us enjoy and dance!
One of my favorite albums of all time. The diversity of music on this album makes it more than just one type of genre, but rather a fusion and celebration of music. Where we were, where we are, and where we are going. Perfect is a word used to commonly for such rare occurrences, but this is as close as it gets.
So what if it's not EDM? So what if it's not what you expected from Daft Punk? So what if you didn't want this style? It's still absolutely fantastic music. That's all that really matters.
This deserves less than a star. This is pure garbage. It is very repetitive and... I don't have this, but either way, it's possible you heard it at the radio or something. 😴This is just a suggestion: 1)Don't buy this 2)Never listen to this garbage 3)There are artists that are 10x better than them Whoever is listening to this, your wasting your time. There are better things to do. 😡 Listen to better artists who give so much meaning in their songs. 😶😇 NO JOKE!
Give life back to music-4/5 a little weird and annoying but very catchy and silly for the beginning of the sample! The game of love-3.5/5 like the previous track weird and annoying but very catchy and silly for the beginning of the sample. More slow than track 1.

You may love it or hate it, but I love it. So detailed and emotional. I especially enjoyed the richness of 'Motherboard'. I recommend giving it a good listen before dismissing som of the slower tracks. It felt perfect.
I love this song!!!! Gets me movin!!!
When I first heard this album, i hated it. The only one i liked was get lucky. I decided to take a second listen on it, and ACTUALLY LISTEN to it. This album has good funk, and a classy jazz feel. Not all artists can make albums this meaningful. I love daft punk, and thank you for creating another memorable album.
I listened to the album and I liked 2 songs out of the 13, i'll give it 2 stars, 1 for the 2 songs I like and 1 for the new sound they created but am not impressed .
Alot of people have been hating on this album but i dont know why its great. DAFT PUNK IS BACK!!!!!!
I first heard this latest effort by Daft Punk while driving to Ottawa in my son's car. I was impressed by the retro 70s electronic flavour mixed with contemporary rhythms but album goes deeper than that. Interesting lyrics and just the right blend of energy tracks and pensive chill. A beautifully crafted, quality album which, in my opinion, ranks as one the top albums of this year if not this decade.
I love this album. There are one or two songs that are just a bit too repetetive but the soul of get lucky, and the insane originality of Giorgio more than make up for it. A solid release.
It was different in a good way
Vraiment, quelle surprise inattendue... Le meilleur album de ce duo à ce jour. Difficile d'arrêter la boucle une fois partie, la dernière et la première pistes sont tellement accrochantes. Excellent d'un bout à l'autre et incomparable à d'autres artistes.
You don't have to be a child of the 60's or any other nonsense like that to appreciate this masterpiece of an album. This is a breath of fresh air and a move in the right direction!! I'm feeling most every track on this record and daft punk needs to keep it up!! I NEVER buy music but three previews in and I found the album on my phone, they've found the key to success with this one!
If you come expecting Homework, then just go listen to Homework. If you don't love it right away, then give the album a couple of play throughs. Try to use a good pair of headphones. I think you will understand the depth and appreciate the beauty of the sound of RAM. Perfect for your drive home, while getting ready to go out to the club, or just going on a walk with. This album is aural genius and their best album since Homework.
ya
You could only really listen and dance to two of them. The rest seems like it would be good... If you were as high as a kite. And the third song is absolute crap, its mostly someone talking. But I really enjoy how they are trying to incorporate the older styles of music (60's 70's 80's).
You gotta make more songs like around the world and get lucky. Otherwise, your fame is gone. I was a fan since 2009
It's good but not amazing. Songs all kinda sound the same. Not very upbeat outside of Get Lucky. The audio is great quality though, nice smooth rich bass.
This is great. The new album is more instrumental but still you can feel the daft punk soul in it. I cannot stop listening it. Worth it. Really.
When I heard Get Lucky on my local radio station, The Zone, I was hooked instantly! I loved the 70's beats and melodies in the undertones of the songs. This album will sky rocket up the charts. What a fantastic follow up to Human After All and Tron: Legacy. Here's hoping they do the original soundtrack to Tron 3.
I have been a huge Daft Punk Fan since childhood. All of the albums have impressed me except this one, I don't know about you but to me this does not sound like a Daft Punk album. I am not impressed I hope I am speaking on behalf of others. Discovery was the best album of all time
What an awesome CD, I didn't hear that kind of music for the longest time. Genius! Thanks to my friend DB for introducing me to that album. Amazing.
I'm a big fan of Daft Punk but this album totaly depressive.
It always disappoints me when an album is vastly different than the first single. It's not a bad album, just don't buy it expecting the mood and soul of Get Lucky.
Disappointed
Just great!
It's good not much to say :):(
Every track is made with perfection and it's hard to pick a favourite because every track is amazing. Daft Punk will return and give music a real taste. This is real music, not the crap that plays on the radio. Every track is made with such detail
Best album in years. Impeccable polish on every track.
Best song ever
Le premier écoute de l'album nous laisse perplexe! Mais les écoutent suivantes sont meilleurs les unes des autres!!!
This is REAL music, unlike 99% of music today. The whole album is amazing, barely anyone makes good music like this anymore. Buy and listen to the whole album!
Amazing
I only just heard the full album last night. I'm not a huge Daft Punk fan in that I don't know all their stuff, so I can't compare to previous work but this album is bloody brilliant! I loved it, and actually enjoyed every track and really loved some. Perfect house party tunes.
Since when did disco come back? Not what I was expecting...
They've got some really great songs on here!
Great.
Simply sweet!
If you're looking for another Daft Punk TRON album, do NOT buy this. The two couldn't be more different from each other. Random Access Memories is a jazzy, easy listening album - most songs contain no lyrics - and many of the songs sound the same. It's cool for ambient music at a coffee shop, but not in the least bit "wow worthy"
Big let down! I was hoping for some cutting edge EDM and was left with soft seventies sounds. So disappointed!
In one word this album is incredible.
This gets 1 star, for the 1 and only fantastic song in it. The rest are slow boring songs, with barely anything to them and no soul, that anyone could have made in an hour.
It's okay that they are trying new things but they need to go back to making music in their old style
Love every song! Even the talking intros
Wow Daft Punk worked hard on this one. It sounds awesome and the melodies are incredible. My 2 favorite songs: Within and Doin' It Right
This album is so good, worth the purchase!
You are really good to make songs, i'ts amazing. I hope that Blurred lines gonna finally be on 2st place and Get Lucky in 1st place!
I love it
I think Get Lucky is one of the stupidest songs I've ever heard. I'm guessing that anybody under 30 probably hates this song. Or else those above 30 who like this need to seriously grow up. Everyone I know hates this song. I don't wanna hear a song about teens obsessed with getting lucky. He sings like a smug teen who so sure he'll get lucky. When this song comes on the radio, I don't care where I am or what I'm doing, I change the staion ASAP!!! Gets my vote for stupidest song of 2013. Ohhhh man, I miss the old Daft Punk, that stuff was great. I miss the dancing aliens & Charles the talking dog. Bring back the dancing aliens!! Charles we miss u!!!!!
Talk about break through, sure i liked some punk in the past, but talk about a new sound that makes every track appealing. I'd suggest album of the summer. Congrats boys.
This album is simply beautiful, its like drinking Schweppes, the more you drink it the more you love it
Can't wait for the tour
i just cant listen to this song and not dance its amazing!
The much awaited Daft Punk album didn't fail to live upto it's expectations and they literally gave life back to music with this one. Worth every penny :)
I am not able to trancefer some songs is there any restriction for some songs in this album, i am using ipod nano 2nd gen and not able to trancefer populer songs from album like instant crush, Within, loose yourself to dance ,
What a futuristic return to roots. Ten years down the line this album will still be as fresh and heard repeatedly. That's the power of RAM and Daft Punk. There's lush production values, some great guest vocals and a nostalgic vibe I can't get enough of. Giorgio by Moroder simply blows my mind with its brilliant conceptual skills and execution leading to an electrifying climax. I personall love so many tracks it's tough to pick a favorite so I'll go ahead and say Contact and Touch are my least favorite. The rest are pretty much up there, all at no. 1
The classy, immaculate and timeless disco masterpiece created by the incredible duo.
After a long time will get to hear daft punk.. It's track getting lucky...
The perfect music ! Above rap / electro / psychedellic / rock and whatever ... Simply refreshing and new !
Mind blowing album .... Awesome guys!!!!!
This is the first time ever i've heard their music and its simply great. I liked all the songs from the album. Especially loved the songs "lose yourself to dance", "get lucky" and "give life back to music". Start playing the songs and I am sure you'll lose yourself to their music. Thank you daft punk. Now you can put me into your fan-list.
Simply awesome !
I just love it! Robot music at its best;)
This is not the original Daft Punk. They have changed over the time and I must admit that this is a very good album. A must have for all.
I didn't knew about the real instruments and diffrence between 5o's, 6o's and 7o's music but they taught me. I love them and thank you daft punk once again to inspire me.
One of the awesome robotic sound masters duo comes back .
I always Listen to This Great Album when i Need Relax...Lots of Love and Respect❤️
Complex, fun, gorgeous and infinite.
Daft punk rocks!!😄😍
One of the best albums after 'Discovery'👍👍👍
Its everything I had hoped it would be. The songs are simply beautiful. Great work by Daft Punk!
I had deleted the album. Then gave it a second shot then loved it

boring, and weak.... has its moments but there few and far between
I have been playing the latest offering on high rotation! What can I say but.... Pure brilliance !! A fabulous journey through the early days of funk, to electro, a splash of techno, a hint of theatre and back again. I can't get enough...... It brings back so many memories of the roller coaster" that is " my musical life! Love the fact they mainly used appealing REAL artists not MACHINES from this soul fullfilling era. Thank you DAFT PUNK!! Amen......
Ace stuff guys. Loooooooooooooooooove it.
Retro futuristic sounds aural bliss
The production of RAM is brilliant, The songs flow from start to finish and they all share a common theme. this is a Daft Punk album that came straight from their heart. I can see myself listening this album in 10 years time and loving it, just as i'm still listening to their 2001 album "Discovery" and loving Purely Timeless.
I agree with the majority of ppl who have given an honest review. Overhyped and boring album. Someone said that if it wasn't for the 'Daft Punk' name then this wouldn't have sold...
This is beautiful. A whole new level for these guys.
I loovveeeee this album. Some amazing tracks. Siicckkkkkkk!!!
I've followed Daft Punk since the 90's and thoroughly enjoyed the Dance music they created. 20 years later I'm loving the new Daft Punk album. Sure, it's not the high energy Electronic music that I once danced to in clubs and festivals. It's more chilled out, and that suits me just fine. The layers, complexity, along with the Robotic voice are all still there. My personal opinion is that after 20 years of Daft Punk, 20 years of fans, inevitably means growing older. Daft Punk are in their late 30's, their fans have grown with them. Young fans can still enjoy the old Daft Punk, and the older fans are able to enjoy the new Daft Punk as well. I'm not speaking for everyone of course, so I'm just saying this is a great chill out album, don't expect an electronic dance album.
There are a few good songs but it feels like music my father would listen to. They seem a bit full of themselves saying its a future sound when it sounds like a funked up Simon & Garfunkel party mix. If it is a future sound; I don't want that future.
Truly the best album of the year..so far!! I enjoy every single track and love the bass.
The Gods have returned
Meh.
I was expecting more for a new album. I like the old songs better
XD
Unfortunately, this album isn't quite what it makes out to be. Daft Punk were heading in a great direction with style, even when working in conjunction to Tron. But this album seems to have taken away their style. I've always seen Daft Punk as futuristic, making me feel energetic, and I take my hat off to the for experimenting new ways, but this album definitely doesn't suit Daft Punk, at all. Sorry guys.
Best electronic dance album in years Album's album, listen to in full is the only way to experience this piece of musical art
Have your pitch, intonation and harmony checked before you comment on this release. Also learn to put the emphasis on the 2 and the 4. An eclectic taste in music will also benefit.
When I first listened to this, I was surprised, period. It was definitely not what I expected. I was waiting for that good old daft punk characteristic sound and didn't get it, but is that a bad thing? Well, for starters, I was kind of clued into this when the Tron legacy soundtrack was launched, as I am sure many others were also. Just because a band changes their style slightly does not mean that the music they produce is ultimately bad! Just different. As many other people have said, if you want to hear the same sound, you should probably go and listen to their old stuff. And don't forget that 8 years is quite a while for a group to develop their sound further. Taking this album on face value, if we remove all of the 'Daft Punk' hype and typecasting, one can suffice to say that it IS good. It has a much more... relaxed tone and one which I thoroughly enjoy. There are a few average tracks but, by and large, they are held up by the remaining exceptional ones. So, you hard core daft punk purist you!, before you judge this album, listen with an open mind and give it a chance to get under you skin. I promise you will not regret it. :)
I have listened to this album a lot, trying to figure out just what it is that people are getting so excited about, but I have come to the conclusion that it is actually really boring. It is a mash up between some easy listening, some broadway show tunes and the theme tune to the 80s TV show Knightrider. As an album, it may have dredged up some earlier memories from the 80's, but they weren't the good ones that I wanted to remember and reminisce over. Greatly disappointed.
Honestly I'm disappointed. There are a few good songs on this album but the rest are really boring. I got caught up in the hype, but wish I'd bought only a few songs rather than the whole Ho-Hum album.
Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder and Daft Punk! Match made in heaven. Pioneers in all their respective fields. Great music, which has evolved over the years. Ignore the one stars and purchase this, you will not be disappointed
Great album keep going daft punk
Smooth beats, a kaleidoscope of techno pop. My personal favourite daft album yet.
Unreal.
No amount of spruiking will hide the fact that this album really doesn't go anywhere. Not even close to the quality of previous work... Control-alt-delete Ps: I add to give it one star or not have my review published....
Great but most people will be unfamiliar with unpopular songs which are very different to there popular songs. Other than that it was a great album with the song most bought the album for "get lucky"
Full of hype, not full of substance. Quite a poor effort from such old performers. Mainstream Diarreah, sorry!
Genius.
What a dissapointment !! I was so excited when I heard the single but after forcing myself to listen to the whole album, I realised it would take a special mirracle to put it on again. This will defenitely not go platinum.
This album had a lot of hype. That statement is a complete understatement. It certainly has the discoteque feel they were alluding to however each track is highly repetitive and reminiscent by-in-large of music you would hear on the "Love Boat" at Cocktail hour. I can't help but feel they knew they have produced a sub-par effort and purposely hyped it up into a major event because they knew otherwise the album wouldn't sell. With the exception of "Lucky" the rest of the album is forgetable after a few spins. A massive disappointment in following up to their amazing work on the Tron soundtrack
Pioneers who've looked to the past to get to the future…. smooth
I just came in my pants.
Boring, repetitive in a bad way, nothing like their other albums, disappointing. Get Lucky is the only semi-feel good track. The rest feel like they've tried too hard..
Love it. It's not the same as any of the other albums and thank god! Would be super boring if all their albums were the same! Anyone who says they are disappointed need to give some room for revolution and change! This album makes me happy and who ever will listen to it would find it hard to be in a bad mood! X
This is sooo bad, soooo disappointing, soooo soft. It's a poor chillout albumn. Who would want to watch this live or dance to it !!!
If u like daft punks music don't buy it's album it's far from what the use to make. So disappointed.
How come Apple ripped me off, $17 for this album, when the US AppStore sells this for $11.00. Thieves !!! I guess after spending so long listening to the Alive album, I should have expected disappointment with Random Access Memories. I expected so so much more from Daft Punk. Next time will pirate first, and buy if I like it. So sad, so disappointed ;(
This is the Daft Punk I fell in love with in the early 90's, I love this album ! This type of music will never grow old even if I am starting to get there :-)
Sounds like elevator music most boring album they've done
Very good beats. Extremely groovy and catchy album. Sometimes it feels like same beat is used in more than once in the songs. I'm glad it's different to what they usually do, because if daft punk made similar songs to what they previously did, then they might as well sell the same album every few years. You cannot expect the same things every time from artists, otherwise it would be the same music everyday... how bland life would be.
Awesome. Great use of rhythm guitar throughout. Classic already!
Had anyone else put out this album it would have been completely ignored for being so very average. Only people involved deserving of a five star rating are the marketing team.
Every song I just love and play over again and again! Great job guys!
I Hate It :( Liked older daft punk
I have been waiting for this album to be released but I can only laugh at the songs!! Where is the originality? Aside 'get lucky' this album is a waste of time. Very disappointed! :(
Not sure how people can give this a 5 star rating, especially prior to it being released. You are supposed to write a review and give the music a rating after you have listened to it, not an anticipation score. "I think it will be 4 stars...." or " I can't wait to hear it....5 star rating".
This is an album that you need to listen to as a whole, not just one song, not on shuffle. As a whole, in the order intended. Thats when it is amazing!
This album... I just can't stop listening... It's like finding utopia. Thanks again DP.
People have complained that it's disappointing because not every track made them dance. Not every track is meant to, though. There are some great, funky, retrofuturistic tracks on here but there's also some slower but still really powerful stuff. It's taken a few listens for it to grow on me but I love the album now.

This album is really good. My favourite songs on the album are get lucky and Giorgio. Well done!!! :)
Samey, boring and uneventful. At best it's a little nostalgic but there is plenty of good disco funk from the 70's. Even the otherwise catchy and cheerful Get Lucky disappears in a wash of bland.
All these songs would be so much better without that queer robot voice!!
Different, quality, awesome :-)
They are clearly trying to adopt a different style but to be honest, it just hasn't worked for me at all. Very disappointed
This Album is amazing ! I love Daft Punk and I think Pharell Williams really helps the new Concept !
This isn't what I though it would be, I was expecting Daft Punk bringing this album with a new taste of funkiness and catchy disco beats with robotic sounds/vocals. Apparently only two out of the whole list are good and one of them which is referred to 'Get Lucky' featuring Pharrell Williams, that song has a great taste of disco style!
This is poor the disappointment still resonates its even worse than tron.:(
There is no question this is a great album, but in my opinion Discovery is much better
The first time I listened to Contact it made me cry. That is all that needs to be said.
This has to be the best album I have listened to in a long while, if not ever. I have been a huge fan of daft punk for years and i was looking forward to listening to the new album. Oh my GOD this album has blown me away - It is pure genius! My first impressions were good but the fantastic thing with this album is the more you listen to it the better it gets. it is really a work of art. Listen to it on your headphones and get ready to be taken to another place, the different genres of music effortlessly rolled into one fantastic album! A must have for any serious music fan! This review does not do it justice, if I had more time I would write more, just buy it and give it a chance - you will not be disappointed.
You will not hear a better album this decade! This album has some of the funkiest songs I've ever heard. You cannot help but dance! It also features very sad songs which affect you emotionally in a way I've never felt before.
This isn't the DP that you were expecting. In fact this is probably their best work. Clever melodies and some top grooves.
who ever dosn't like this dosnt know a bout good music
In a recent Nile Rogers interview he mentioned that perhaps they (DP) "needed to go back, in order to go forward". Well, they have done both things with this album. Music, if well made, has the ability to evoke feelings that paint pictures in your mind and ultimately put you inside those pictures. Off course something that is entirely unachievable in mass-produced commercially driven pop. Well, this album paints pictures and it puts you inside them. It is full of emotion and honesty, regardless of it is around Moroder's musings, the west-end musical feel of Touch, the crowded floor of Get Lucky or the 6-th gear out of space "Contact". I can not count myself to the DP hard core fan base, but I want to salute DP for making an incredible album and for daring to break away from the predictable.
Get Lucky is the best song, by far, and it's not even that good.
This much anticipated album will not meet some people's expectations. This is NOT Daft Punk as you probably know them. This is a new (and in my opinion, amazing) style for them, with catchy and intelligent house/dance style pieces. The tracks won't suddenly change into cyber-filled, futuristic electronic songs like Derezzed, Robot Rock and so on. I adore this album and I love that DP have given a new style a shot - and delivered phenomenal results. That said, if you listen carefully, you might catch a few electronic bits here and there, but if you're looking for Discovery 2, RAM is not the album for you. For me, I have been a die hard DP fan for a while now, with some of my favourite songs being Around the World and One More Time, but these songs definitely have competition with this album. All in all, if you're into a new take on dance, this album is surely one of the best out there. If you came here for Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger (pun intended) old school Daft Punk, then this might not be the best album to settle on. Brilliant work DP!
It took me till the second listen through to really get this album. It has been cleverly created with such attention to detail tht shows why artists like Daft Punk are a dying breed. Well done DP I will gladly wait another 8 years if the next record is as good as this one
your kidding. this is the most beautiful album I've heard in ages. object to this, and there is no place for you on this earth. this album is funky, groovy, catchy, touching, exciting, beautiful, slightly melancholic and the third classic album that Daft Punk have done. but it might just be fair as to say that this album has practically beaten all the previous classics they've done altogether. this is Daft Punk.
Daft Punk are unique. Other artists listened to their previous albums and thought 'I'm using that'. They were one of the first to put together songs entirely on computers. And nowadays, when everyone else making 'mainstream' music are using this technique, what do DP go and do? They write an entire album made completely with instruments. They do whatever the heck they want to. No 'jumping on the bandwagon'. The cabaret 'touch' is the perfect example of that. Oh, I'm sorry. Since when was cabaret a bad thing? It's amazing. End of.
It really wasn't what I was expecting, nothing like before, but definitely give it a chance it's a grower!
The music is new and fresh, ok slightly different from the past releases but there are hints of the old daft punk in there somewhere, certainly worth purchasing a must buy for any music enthusiast worth there sole!
Bland, bland, bland and over-produced.
For me, the problem with this album is that it is missing nearly all of Daft Punk's "signature" style, apart from the vocoder stuff. It's all too tame, there's not a single exciting song on the album with the possible exception of the last song "Contact", and one song does not make an album worth buying.
what a waste of money this was nothing like the daft punk i knew, feel conned after all the hype for this what a let down
I bought this because I've bought their previous albums. I've bought both versions of the Tron Legacy soundtrack, I love the work they did with Romanthony; there's almost nothing they've done together or independently in 20 years I don't like. But, this is not that. This is self-indulgent and disappointing. Nile Rogers lends a huge chunk of class to recover a couple of the tracks. The DJ Falcon track at the end is also quality. The rest is like watered-down, Phoenix B-sides.
Fantastic.. Chilled enough for a Sunday morning but lively enough to have me dancing around the kitchen too.. I love how Daft Punk are evolving...it's a bit sci fi, a bit dance, a bit dreamy.. Something for everyone... This album is great !
If you were expecting Discovery, if you were wanting Human After All, if you were hoping for Alive then you do not know much of Daft Punk - continually shifting and adding to their back catalogue of amazing music - reinventing and rejuvenating the way we listen to dance music. If you don't like this on first listen, listen again….it will creep up on you and give you a subtle yet amazing musical experience - born in the past but set for the future.
Yayyyyyy
At first, like many at first listen,I thought this is not the sound I expected...thought it may be too laid back. I have now become addicted-the previous reviewer has summed it up completely. This is GENIUS and 'Touch' flows through all sorts of emotions...'it's a gift that keeps on giving!'
Ok , previous albums from daft pink were awesome, however this is a cash cow , the two tunes with pharrell were good the rest crap. They were just trying to make some money out of releasing this album they didn't even put any efforts to .This album is just a copycat of their previous work. Disappointing to say the least !
I love this album, it's deep, which is why some cant grasp it yet. It is for the more developed and thoughtful mind. I can't praise it enough. From beginning to end, it just blew me away. Now I feel sick that I can't find another album of this type, it's a certain feeling, that not many can create. Well done Daft Punk, you have a new, very excited listener. Thanks.
In all honesty I don't know how to feel about this album. I admire the fact that they tried something new, the vibe of the songs is good but a full album of it? I'll pass. I loved Daft Punk's "old" stuff for their upbeat disco funk ideas. I'm in the middle here, a couple of songs on this album really shine in a non Daft Punk kind of way. I think an album that has their old style on it with a few songs with the vibe of this one would be perfect. It's not like it's a bad album, it's just not what we expected.
Can't believe the amount of idiots that have given this 5 stars before they have listened to it. The hype machine has convinced the sheep of this world that this is the must have album of this year. Well here's the truth people. It's boring from start to finish. Every track sounds the same and is underpinned by that dreadful vocoder sound. It should come with a warning. 'May cause drowsiness'. Avoid driving or using heavy machinery whilst under the influence. I'm now annoyed that I have to give it 1 star.
I was expecting this album to be like the others, upbeat, happy etc, but, for me, I found this album to be very sad and depressing in places and really trippy and a bit strange in others. Maybe I just don't get it?? I can hear it is quality work, but it is different and not necessarily in a way that I find good, but as with anything, any opinion is subjective.
Bit repetitive at times...better that blurred lines...
Not that impressed with it overall...what's with the autobiography!! Shame and I'm not that happy on spending £8.99!!
One hit wonder, the rest are French techno crap.
Ace
Should have waited until the album was released rather than pre-order. If I had I wouldn't have bothered. Two good tracks, otherwise very dull.
I like get lucky and give life back to music 😍
I am a professional musician, music tutor and installer of studios, so I think my ears are pretty good. I have never heard Daft Punk before, this was recommended to me yesterday and I haven't stopped listening to it since. Everything about this album, in my opinion, is pretty close to perfect. The musicianship is world class, the production has laced within it hooks and grooves from tracks I have loved throughout my life. The album is beautifully put together with the right blend of upbeat and slower tunes to take you on a journey that reminds me of the albums of 20 years ago. I travel a lot and music keeps me going whilst on the road. I haven't listened to an album through in completion for 5 years or so, certain tracks would lose me and I would skip. Not the case with this. Reading the other reviews its clear this is very different album for Daft Punk. If you are a fan already and you can approach this with no Pre conceptions as I did, you will love this. But if you are a musician who loves music, download this album immediately, this is a truely outstanding piece of work that I will be listening too for the rest of my life.
This album is a huge let down. Its not a bad album but it is certainly not a 5 star album. I understand that bands go through transitions in their career but when I look back on it Daft Punk have been going downhill ever since "Homework"." Homework" was a fantastic album and is still one of my all time favourites, "Discovery" was a decent album too but didn't really touch the genius of "Homework" it was a lot more pop but still a very good album. Fast forward a few years and "Human After All" was an epic fail. It was dull, lifeless and lackluster. They followed this up with "Alive" their live album that included a lot of the drivel from "Human After All" and it was brilliant and actually made that album make more sense. Another few years down the line and along comes "Random Access Memories" and with a tentative memory in my mind of their past greatness I purchase the album and was instantly let down. "Get Lucky" is easily the best track on the album but saying that if you break the song down, you have Pharrell on vocals (which he wrote) a funky guitar riff by Nile Rodgers (which he wrote) and addition production. Essentially everything that is good about that track wasn't written but Guy and Thomas. Have the Daft Punk guys lost the ability to write a good song. Again from "Human After All" the best track is "Robot Rock" which has a massive sample which basically makes up the main hook of the track, again not written by Daft Punk. Anybody who rates this album with 5 stars is kidding themselves, because this is a million miles away from being a 5 star album.
Well some songs can be a bit boring but it's a really good album I only found 2 songs boring:)
Words fail me. Album of the year
It's dance, it's disco.. It's daft punk It's not homework it's no discovery, daft punk arnt that crazy dance act from france anymore.. They are now credible world renowned recording artists, and this album just proves it. Buy it.. Sit back relax stick your headphones on and enjoy... Masterpiece
I listened to the whole of this album, and I am genuinely pleased to say it's a fantastic album, cannot fault such a fantastic comeback album, and after being away for a couple of years 😃.
This is their weakest album. I can't get into it and there are absolutely no stand out tracks. I liked it at first, but when I got over "OMG NEW DAFT PUNK!!!!!!" it just became a very substandard and boring album.
Yes, they have changed their sound, but look what they have come up with! They are only saluting the music they grew up listening to. There is no sound like this today. There are a few slow, boring songs, but apart from that, it is the soundtrack to a great night out in the 80s!
Admittedly it took me several run throughs to really appreciate the music. I expected 13 tracks like 'Get Lucky' and though that is not the case, there is plenty to enjoy. It may not be their usual music but its experimental vibe has really drawn me in. I could listen to 'Doin' It Right' and 'Giorgio by Moroder' on repeat all day long
