Chateau Flight by John Barry Song Info
Written for the famous Bell Jet Pack pre-credit 'teaser' sequence to 1965's Thunderball. The music mostly underscores a rather lively fist, furniture and fireplace poker fight sequence between James Bond and Spectre's Colonel Jacques Beauvier (played by Sean Connery's stunt double Bob Simmons) which meant that Sean appears in much of the fight as Bond himself. This sequence is rampant with continuity flubs and some film speeding up tricks but holds up with fast paced editing. The Final note of this piece is when the Jet Pack actually takes flight - so perhaps it should be more appropriately titled 'Chateau Fight' This is the closest available track to 'The James Bond Theme' available on the original vinyl soundtrack album at the time until 2003 when the album (along with many other 007 soundtracks) was re-mastered and re-released on CD with additional tracks.
