I've seen the movie many times and love it!....I had to buy the album..Bravo to James Horner(also Brad Pitt & Eric Bana) Achillies and Hector are all I see when I hear this music...."There are no pacts between lions and men"........"Well,I wouldn't bother with the shield then would I"...(Achillies talking about his immortality).......MY ADVICE....See the movie,fall in love with it,then buy the album..

Troy the movie and the soundtrack are both AMAZING! The "critic" doesn't know what they are talking about. Go see Troy for yourself if you don't like the soundtrack!

i LOOOOOVE history and i love this movie! plus, James Horner is an excellent composer, and this album is no exception to his greatness. plus, those of you who criticize, I'd try not to spell "that" HTAT.... okay?

Purchasing this album (before the movie was released) I expected a powerful, exciting, well-written soundtrack; I ended up with a dissappointing CD that lacks novelty and uniqueness. Horner tries desperately to use motifs throughout the score; however instead of an inspiring, innovative composition, he delivers a rather hackneyed sequence of notes apparent in too many ancient war movies. A bona fide upset, the makers of Troy would have been better off using the music from the trailer and calling it a day. No better than the movie itself, the soundtrack lacks freshness and originality: don't waste your money.

amazing... regardless of what "the critic" says...

James Horner is known for creating some of the most powerful scores in hollywood and he does no less of a job in 'Troy'. This soundtrack is based around strong themes, giving the movie a dose of excitement through the intense battle sequences, rousing action themes, saddening parts and passionate love scenes, and the soundtrack is no less when just listening to it. The only reason i dont give it five stars is it doesnt quite have such a memorable theme as some of Horner's earlier work. (such as 'Braveheart' and 'Titanic'.) But that shouldnt make you think twice about getting the soundtrack for there is still much more that makes this soundtrack worth buying and i would definately recommend it.

You can feel the power and thrill in the soundtrack. James Horner did EXCELLANT! And as for Josh Groban, with a voice and song like that, he could pick up the ladies easily. Both a FINE job on the music. I give this a 5 star rating as anyone should who have ears for such music as this soundtrack

This movie blew me away! The music was amazing too. I would watch the movie over and over again it is that good. I don't no what is wrong with that "critic" but it is not a waste of money, thats for sure. A great sound track!

This is a wonderful soundtrack, but it had to win me over. When I first bought it (having not seen the movie) I was expecting sweeping epics and in your face climax's. James Horner plays it low key, helping set the mood and then leaving room for the actors to take it the rest of the way. That's the way good composers do it. This is also (somehow, don't ask because I don't know) the first time I really heard Josh Groban. I think "Remember" is the perfect way to end the film.

This album is amzing, I just love listening to it. The last song Remember, just blew me away. The movie is spectacular. The music is just perfect for it.

I'm a huge fan of James Horner's music, I own countless number of his film scores, unfortunately, this is not one htat will get much play time. Horner has a way of rehashing music his previousley written and this is no different. While that isn't always a bad thing as someone who composes as much as Horner does will inevitably do so, Troy exhibits one of his lesser successful attempts. Sometimes I enjoy when he recycles his music because the newer version can be just as unique and enjoyable as the original but this isn't the case here. Overall, I can't see myself recommeding this less than mediocre score from a composer we all know is not worthy of his talent.

they all sound the same

When I first saw this movie, I fell in love with it. I love Fantasy movies like Harry Potter and have all the albums. I just had to have this one. The song "Remember" moved me. James Horner is added to my favorite composers.

The movie was good, I liked it. But this sountrack is one of those that doesn't make a lot of sense without the pictures. I am taking "Remember" and nothing else from this one.
