Good Songs but they dont remind me of the older albums.

The people that have been saying Linkin Park are dead couldn't be more wrong, some of the bands heaviest songs to date like "Keys To The Kingdom" and "War" just show they're still one of the best bands out there. A great return to their heavier sound a must get!

Such a massive development from the last album! Its easy to see why they’ve released the four singles before the actual albums release - it helps their audience to get used to this new LINKIN PARK. And I love it. Its amazing. I didn’t think it was possible to top their stuff but they have as an album, not through individual songs. The album as a whole is astonishingly raw and seamlessly fits together. Beautiful work.

Best album since meteora truly embraces the rock element of Likin park and is very guitar and drum driven .

If you're a fan, you'll know this is some of their best work to date. Fresh, different, lots of maturity and experience showing now. Saw them perform just yesterday in Orlando - 1st of the U.S. Hunting Tour. Excellent.

An open letter to whomever stole LP’s guitars and drums a few years ago: Thank you for returning them to the band. Contrary to popular belief, LP used to be a rap-metal band, and The Hunting Party (THP) proves that they were able to throw away their GarageBand running MacBooks and get back to their roots, creating something with even more hardcore-style thrashing than any critic could have seen coming at them. Many of the tracks make their earlier work pale in comparison in terms of sheer, epic face melting power (the ones I’ve starred are my most recommended). The album hits you like a freight train, starting off with the screeching pedal-to-the-metal speed metal thrill “Keys to the Kingdom”. THP then flows into the brutal yet soaring *All For Nothing*, feat. Page Hamilton. Mike Shinoda’s raps in this piece make his old ones from LP’s early days sound like child’s play. Hard and even verging on hostile and threatening – dare I say a little bit like late 90s DMX, with slightly fewer expletives. Totally bad-asp. But this track isn’t all rap. In fact, the guest-sung, powerful, melodic, and soaring choruses truly steal the show: Reminiscent of “Crawling”, but sans Bennington’s screeching. The breakdown even goes as far as to have a beautiful, soaring, almost Metallica-like guitar solo. The album then transitions into “Guilty All The Same”, a minor thrash number. We then flow through the brief instrumental “The Summoning”, and find ourselves up against the even more thrashing “War”, a real speed-punk anthem. Next up is “Wastelands”, almost a musical complement to “All For Nothing”, with more brutal rapping from Shinoda (however, you’ll still have to deal with Bennington’s screeching on this one during the choruses). Building on the epic electronic metal that made them famous in the 2000s, *Until It’s Gone*, isn’t quite the hardest song on this album exactly. However, the register isn’t new territory for LP – Think about a song that’d be halfway between “Crawling” and “New Divide”. Subtle electronic backgrounds are in the end handsomely overwhelmed by brutal power chords, making for a delightful audio experience. Keeping true to LP’s rock roots and bringing you back to reality with regards to the thrashing nature of this album, “Rebellion” slams the listener with another freight train. A minor break with the artsy but still hard “Mark the Graves” follows, and the instrumental “Drawbar” continues the artsiness, this time in an electronic instrumental form. Going back to the form that made “Until It’s Gone” so beautiful, *Final Masquerade* unsurprisingly finds itself the first single from this album. Just like its complement earlier on in the album, this song sends you soaring through the air in first class, LP style. The album then closes with “A Line In The Sand”, a long-ish track that thrashes much like “War” and “Keys to the Kingdom”. Conclusion: 4/5. This IS LP, hitting us back more hardcore in our faces than they’ve ever hit us before. Maybe I like my music a bit heavier than the average LP fan does, but dare I say, this might be their best effort ever.

I'm a huge Linkin Park fan and I can honestly say they are back to their original style of music. Chester Bennington screams, Mike Shinoda rapping and Alternative Metal to the max! I know it's not Hybrid Theory or Meteora but it's One Step Closer😏 for them to revive rock music. A Thousand Suns and Living Things were great albums but that's not what Linkin Park will be known for. Everybody should watch out cause LP is back and hungry!

I was once a big fan of LP. I stopped listening to them for a while, but this is a masterpiece. I have no idea why this is not their bestselling album. It's a melodic masterpiece, with enough of an edge to please a wide variety of people. Mike's rapping is genius when it comes to lyrics (Wasteland), and there's a lot if suspense and instruments on the album. Best LP album in my opinion. Too bad no one else likes it.

C'mon guys. Grow up and get outta the mind set that every Linkin Park album HAS to be EXACTLY like Hybrid Theory and/or Meteora to be a great album. The Hunting Party is just so amazing and mind blowing. I wasn't expecting that kind of sound to be included, since A Thousand Suns and Living Things had an electronica vibe. Don't get me wrong, those are also some fantasic albums. But for me, The Hunting Party takes the cake. Songs like Rebellion and Final Masquerade are songs I've been waiting my whole life to hear. I know, "To each his own", but can we at least try to appreciate all the hard work and effort they put in to do the things they do? I give them 5 stars on this one. Great job, guys!

I expected this to be so much better

This was a stellar album and the tours that go along with it were great. A nice mix of rock and electronic that will get anyone pumped!

I have given 5 star reviews to most of Linkin park’s albums. I am a huge fan! I’ve seen them live and was a underground member. but what made then so good to me was that they had a futuristic sound always pushing the limits of music. Hybrid Theory was a game changer and Minutes to Midnight brought a lot of new styles, A thousand Suns was Amazing with so many new sounds and fresh beats it is my favorite. Now if i wanted to Go Back to The 90s sound I would Listen to 90s Bands theres a lot of 90s bands that are still making good music today, But Linkin Park is not one of them. I Like it when a band goes back to there roots like Living Things did but The Hunting Party is not Linkin Parks roots it it the sound of the roots of other 90s bands. if they wanted to write a tribute to the 90s then they should have covered old songs like Puddle of Mudd just did. What I’m trying to say is let the 90s bands play the 90s sound I am looking to the future and hoping for more good music from Linkin Park.

I like Linking Park but what is this garbage ?

This album is different, I'm more of a pop rock kinda guy. Maybe just pop, rock just isn't my thing anymore and I think this album blew it! I liked linkin park's computerized music. But they mixed computerized electric sound with rock. You guys are a good band but I think y'all blew it with me, I'm more of a "OneRepublic" or "Maroon 5" kinda guy. Their music just has a better sound to it. So I am no longer a fan of linkin park!!!!!!!! Goodbye

I can't believe I'm giving an LP album less than 4 stars out of 5. But the truth is this isn't even as good as their last album, Living Things. LP albums can never avoid comparison with Hybrid theory and Meteora albums from then on because those albums will be forever iconic rock,pop n rap albums. Instead of focussing on returning to their roots, they should just continue to evolve...the right way. 6 of the songs in this album are just tired and lame. A couple are tolerable and 2 I like very much.

Now, I've been a LINKIN PARK fan for many years and unlike some of their recent previous albums this one resembles the intensity of "Hybrid Theory", but is (in my opinion) a little too fast pace for the lyrics and what they are trying to say. Hits like the undefeated "In The End" which is not too fast but just enough, and these songs are just a little too fast. Hope this was a helpful review

Okay, I really do like this album as far as lyrical content and style, but the mixes are just dull... They dont have the clarity I like in Linkin Park's other albums. The mixes on this album doesn't do them justice.

Think of the songs "Given Up" and "No More Sorrow" from Minutes to Midnight. The Hunting Party would be a whole album based off those two songs. Songs like "Until It's Gone" and "Rebellion" have great energy and flow well. The Hunting Party isn't Hybrid Theory or Meteora, but it's louder and more energetic,

Although this review may be 7-8 months late, after listening to the album, after the first week month I found myself not listening to it. It doesn't have the old LP feel to it, which had a little bit of everything. The album has it's good songs, such as All for Nothing (my personal favorite), Guilty All the Same, and Until It's Gone. But the album still lacks. After years of listening to LP, and them being one of the first bands I really truly liked, it's just not the same. I find myself still listening to In the End, Numb, Bleed it Out, or even songs off of A Thousand Suns or Living Things. The album is great, but I just don't have the urge to keep listening to it, no matter how much I overplay it, or how outdated it gets. An album should leave you wanting to come back for more, but with this, it's not happening.

i've been waiting for an album from this band that doesn't sound like anything since Meteora in 2003. this is not a copy of that album or Hybrid Theory, but you should be happy about that and not complaining like everyone else. all great bands evolve and never continue to rehash the same crap, so why expect it to sound just like thsoe albums around 2000? If you're looking for the old Linkin Park, sorry to disappoint, but they've evolved into a new sound. If they continued with the same sound over and over, the songs would just begin sounding the same. Linkin Park is moving on from the old days and so am I. Love the new sound, and they haven't even completely lost touch with their roots either. The new sound is great, and as the band progresses over the years I know I'll be patiently awaiting the next master piece that this band has to release.

Alright this album is worth the money, I was wondering about buying it with the gift card I got for Christmas, it was totally worth it! The way they have the songs set up is great and their new material brings me back to the roots of linkin park in my opinion, brought me back to when I first found my love for them 8 years ago. This album reminds me of minutes to midnight, the rhythm is fresh and new, and when I got done listening to it, I played it over again. By far this is their 4th best close behind minutes to midnight then meteora in 2nd and hybrid theory (of course) in first it was tough for me to decide this but I think it's the best out of the past three. While I can see why people are salty that it's not "back to their roots" like the itunes notes say (once again), the fact is that linkin park is most likely never going back to nu metal. Regardless, this is awesome music. Definitely a u-turn in the right direction from living things (which I enjoyed, mind you) and all of its electronics. I can see the one guy's point that said these all sound like they could go at the credits of a movie or something. Most of the songs on this album would definitely be good closer material, and they should definitely work on making the next one less like that. It also seems like there was a greater focus on instrumentals this time around, which is evident through the cliché lyrics of until it's gone. I like the focus on instrumentals and the addition of guest spots, those should definitely be continued, but the one thing that this album needs more of is mike rapping. Yes, he's great on all for nothing and wastelands, but he needs more of a presence. Final summary, this album's fantastic and fresh and a huge step in a positive direction. In my opinion, it would be really cool if the next album sounded like New Divide. I thought that was a fantastic song.

Wow i am just amazed with this new one but they sound a little more like metal with more screaming linkin park has become a big part in my life from listing to the them a long time ago with my passed on father and linkin park just shocked me with minutes to midnight because i liked every song from that album but this new one is different by the sound and not having mike rap which all of us are you use to but this album is amazing non to less but if you are a true linkin park fan you should buy it

We all know the LP from old is gone forever and this cd looks to be another nail in the coffin. Aside from the non-inspiring generic music here, the guitar tone is garbage as usual, the drums sound like trash cans, it wouldn't surprise me if Bob Rock produced this cd. Blows my mind how this band stays relevant.

This album is heavy, intense, and awesome. This isn't the best album they've made, but it's good. People really do need to stop judging every other album like "It's not like Hybrid Theory" and all this whiny bullcrap. If you knew anything about Linkin Park, you would know that Mike Shinoda and the crew try to keep renewing the LP genre and surprise their REAL fans, like me.

It really irritates me that people are comparing this album to their old albums. This is not supposed to sound like their old stuff. If it did then y'all would be complaining about how 'it sounds exactly the same as their old stuff' 'same old boring beats.' Stop complaining about how this doesn't sound like their old music and start enjoying their new creations. This album definitely exceeded my expectations. Good job boys!

After what I admit were two somewhat disappointing albums filled with electronics elements and too little guitar work, I am so happy to finally hear what I think is Linkin Park's true comeback album. Almost every song on this album I love listening to with the repeat button on, and I think I can say this is one of my favorite albums of all time personally. Thank you, Chester, Mike, Brad, Dave, Joe, and Rob for giving us what the fans originally loved about you to begin with.

Listen to Hybrid Theory and Meteora if you want real Linkin Park. This is uninspired, unemotional, run of the mill tripe. Keep that money machine rolling guys.

It pains me to see all these negative reviews. To be completely honest, every band eventually looses their touch. We cannot judge people by complimenting their previous achievements, but then rubbing the rest in their face. Linkin Park may no longer be Meteora or Hybrid Theory, but this album probably has the greatest comeback. This album is fantastic. I've been a fan a fan of Linkin Park ever since their debut, and I still think this is a great album. We must show them respect, and in my eyes they deserve it. Don't listen to criticism. People aren't trying to make you feel bad about yourself. They're only trying to boost you and become better. Buy this album, it is fantastic, no matter what. 😉 -Ethan

I wish there were more slower songs to be honest lol. I enjoy this album though! I never have gotten disappointed by Linkin Park really. I always have expected them to experiment and try different things cause that's what they are notorious for. For the ones who are still stuck in their 2 first albums maybe you should try writing your own music and then put it on ITunes and deal with the criticism you put on them if you get popular and decide you want to try something different out because you have integrity instead of selling out all the time. Just my opinion. I love Final Masquerade and the add ons to this album.

I did some research and follow-up on this album, watching behind the scenes footage, interviews, and reading about interviews, Mike and Chester hit the nail on the head regarding the fact that rock had seemed to lost its luster and edge and that they wanted to bring back what made rock great. I had this same mindset when this album was released and was extremely thankful for rock resurfacing. Their alubm art even inspired one of my tattoos.

Reading the reviews of this album really agitated me. I've decided that from now on I will abstain from reading them, and everyone else should as well. Whether or not you like this album, and LP, is not up to other people on the Internet. If you are wondering if this album is for you, do you really need reviews to tell you? All you need to do is listen to the album and make that decision yourself. Reviews for music is the worst concept ever. Do you know why? Because music is art, and like a painting, some may find it invigorating and thought-provoking, while others won't. People need to get it in there heads that Hybrid Theory and Meteora were a long time ago, and how many people are exactly the same, and do the same thing after 14 years. People evolve. Listen to popular music from around the year 2000. Some of those artists are still around, but I bet they sound kinda different today. Music changes as people's tastes change. If LP was a new band in 2014 and released Hybrid Theory, it would probably be criticized for sounding like it belonged in the past, if recognized at all. If The Hunting Party had the similar sound of LP's old stuff, then instead of hearing critics say how different they are, you would hear them say things like "more of the same" and "they need to be more original".That's why LP can't just put out another record like that, they will be criticized either way, but at least this awesome record is a symbol of them still trying to satisfy there fans, while also trying to improve their sound, even if some of their so-called "fans" are to dense to understand what music is about. I love this album and I know many others do as well. If you are reading this then please stop reading it and go listen to The Hunting Party if you haven't already, because others, whether negative or not, can't influence you through this screen.

Look, the people who are fans of Linkin Park since Hybrid Theory and Meteora need to calm down. Just because they changed a bit doesn't mean they're bad. Is this album lame? No! Each song has spark that wants you to sing, jump, and even makes you feel amazing. Don't hate on them because they aren't the same, actually they're the same but with different styles. I hate it when people say they should go back to the way it was before. They are awesome and always have been. Keep it up linkin park. I like the new albums better then the old. It's nice to see an amazing band evolve and grow as a band. So when I hear people say it's not like it was before it makes me mad. So what if they don't scream in every song I like it better like that anyway

Yeah it ain't Nu Metal, but it's Alternative Metal! Basically as the band said, the prelude to Hybrid Theory right here. "Keys to the Kingdom", "All for Nothin", "Guilty All the Same", "Wastlelands", "Rebellion" "Until It's Gone", "Final Masquerade" and "A Line in the Sand" are all my picks for this release, other 4 songs are aight. Who knows what direction in style they are gonna go next?

Nothing will compare to meteora and hybrid theory. Hell, even reanimation was more original than this. I checked this album out with faint hope that they'd return to their original sound a little but I was very disappointed. Minutes to midnight was the last LP album I bought and for good reason. Guess I'm not a "real" LP fan.

One word AMAZING

No...it's not Meteora or Hybrid Theory, so lets instead take it for what it is. It's a fun rock album. The drumming is excellent, guitars have some great hooks and riffs. It feels raw and not overproduced. LP is still creating great albums, looking forward to more.

So I just bought, downloaded & listened to the new album & I love it. My favourite song is Wastelands.

Everything LP does is amazing and this album is no exception. This album is gritty rough rock at it's finest! It's a blow of energy from start to finish.

great album the guitars are back in front

So satisfying to see Linkin Park return to a heavier, less produced sound. What's amazing about this album is it's not just Meteora II. But something new. LP has not just gone back to their roots but developed their sound at the same time. The one dissapointing part of this album for me was that overall the lyrics (especially in the rap sections) are underwhelming and don't have the flow that songs like Forgotten and Bleed it Out did.

Their voices are way to overpowering to even hear the background music. But even when you hear the background music it's trash. The whole album is trash and they definitely are heading in the wrong direction

Oh I was worried what this album would sound like...much better than the last two.

I've listened to Linkin Park since i was 10, and starting with Meteora all the way to this album, i enjoy absolutely everything. I tend to go through swings with their heavier stuff in hybrid theory and meteora, but then sometimes im all about their softer albums. This new one is awesome as well. Cant wait to see them in concert this fall.

I liked Living Things, but some songs in the said album were kind of boring to be honest. But this album is more focused on heavy sounds, while showing little vocal effects, which the last album had a lot (I might be exaggerating here, but who cares lol). I really like Mark the Graves, which iTunes doesn’t know it’s the heaviest song Linkin Park ever produced. But nonetheless, this is a really good and solid album! Worth buying.

I'm sick hearing people complaning about their new songs. Really the fact that Linkin Park changes his style is wath's making these guys awsome. Why? Simply because they make good music of every style. So yeah this album should be great!

As a big fan of Linkin Park’s early work (Meteora, Hybrid Theory), and a rather large proponent of the rest of their music, this cd is awful. There striking melodies that are a staple of the band’s music is completely absent. It sounds like a group of eight year old kids were given instruments and told “hey, go record something."

...the guitar riffs and melodies are nowhere near the quality of songs on Meteora/Hybrid Theory.

I'm a long time Linkin Park fan, this record is alright. I personally only like half of the songs on it... Doesn't really do it for me like their other albums were I wanted to listen to the whole album all the way through.

I get that people want the good old thing but every band evolves and LP has done it well in my opnion in their last albums and this one sounds different again, but it's my favorite in their last three, a really good album from start to finish!

I have all their albums they've ever released and enjoy Living Things the most. I wish they would have built more on what they had done on that album rather than redoing their sound again. It's good but it could have been better.

After listening to Minutes to Midnight I was stoked to hear that they were coming out with new albums. But I was thoroughly dissapointed with A Thousand Suns and Living Things. It just didn't have anything LP related to grab hold of. However, this is FINALLY back on track with the first 3 albums. Slightly derailed in previous attempts to take my money failed, but this album delivers a sound that LP has lacked for nearly 5 years now. Haven't heard all the tracks, but from the iTunes snippits, I can without a doubt say this is going to be up there for me. Its got an older sound to it, but it still sounds autotuney. Thats why it has 4 stars rather than 5. Ohh by the way. I'm an old school LP fan. So I highly recomend this to older fans.

The Hunting Party was foretold to be going back to the roots of the band, when their platinum selling album, Hybrid Theory, was released. Even though this album takes a nice sized step out of the electronic sound of the two previous albums, Living Things and A Thousand Suns, and another step into the tough metal of Hybrid Theory and Meteora, it doesn't make the distance and remains a bit soft, as heard in "Until it's Gone" and a few others. Overall, it wasn't as much like Hybrid Theory as I had hoped, but it's still their best album in a while, and hopefully they can make the final step back to Hybrid Theory.

I want old linkin park. I get artist grow and expand, but hybrid theory, and even metaroa were sick albums, past few years it feels like they abandoned their roots and became a poppy band that makes songs just for sales. Oh well it happens. Still disappointed. Won't b buying this one that's for sure

I was hoping for Hybrid Theory quality, but I am not regretting my purchase. Every album has been a new experience, this one just seems like a punk rock/alternative starter band. We shall see if time changes my mind.

Every song on their album screams linkin park to the core, some old school plus new school I love it. Pick up the album. Stop reading this and do it just buy it.

It's decent but my hopes were crushed love LP but this is one of the weakest albums

Wishful thinking that this was going to be raw and powerful like the LP of old. Instead I hear same boring pop band wannabes. Go back to your roots boys!!!

The 2 songs seem to be a bit more electronic/dance type stuff, and the song quality seems to be falling a bit, but still enjoyable, however if you are new to linkin park I would recommend the earlier stuff, especially meteora.

I heard a bit of the songs never herd them before and I just want it NOW. All my relly good songs are gonna look bad. XD

For this album, there is a mixture of the old version of music and modern melody. Less techno. A little bit of a hard rock alternative. Overall, it's a new album with a new theme and message to send across. Love it!!!

It sounds like it could've been the album before Hybrid Theory and yet - it sounds like the album that we need today. After listening to the first 2 singles off this album - you can hear immediately that Linkin Park are back in territory that they're familiar with and achieve the best results. The emotional angst is present, the signature guitar riffs, the drumming variation and sonic DJ sounds are all moulded together to bring us a Linkin Park we all know and love.

First 2 songs are great, can't wait for the album to come hope there is going to be a cute for the itch or session like song on it
