I just saw him at his concert in ABQ, New Mexico and honestly he is so amazing. His voice is so perfect and sounds exactly the same live as it does on the track. Truly a soulful and wonderful artist.

This is one of my favorite albums. What I love about Hozier is that he doesn't shy away from topics that others would avoid. Many of these songs cover some very dark controversial things. And it's nice to see some lyrical content more in depth than your average modern love song. His song leave much up to interpretation which means you can really take a lot of different things away from each track. From Angel of Small Death to Work Song to Run, there is not a single dull song here. This album is not for everyone but for those who are looking for a nice change, there is non better than this.

I loved this album so much that I bought a hardcopy (yeah, I actually bought a CD) and the iTunes version. I alos gifted it to my mum. It's really a brilliant take on a bluesy-folk inspired music. Take Me to Church is the popular single, it's great, but I loved every single track. Cherry Wine is beautiful and tragic and I must have had it on repeat for two hours the first time I heard it. These songs struck me and I listened to this album almosyt exclusively while writing my novel. I highly reccomend Hozier to anyone looking for something new & meaningful.

The first song I heard by him was take me to church and after listening to it so many times I knew I had to listen to more songs and when this album came out I listened to all the songs all the times, I added his radio to my pandora and it just made it even better! He has the voice of an angel and his music will never get old no matter how many times I play them I could listen to that voice forever and I do every night before bed! I can't wait to see him in concert❤️

I liked this song before it became a hit. The people who give it one star are either people who think it's sacrilegious or just don't like the song I got general because they focus to much on the lyrics instead if thinking about them. That or they just have bad taste.

Since discovering Hozier in mid 2013 I've been following his music with a passion his music is beautiful and his live performances are simply stunning i cant wait to hear some fresh music I'm sure i will not be disappointed so proud of him and his band they are all a major part of the success he has received much love!!

One word can be used to describe this album: PERFECTION. I first heard Hozier on the radio with his hit, "Take Me To Church". His voice made me desperate for more. After a few hours on an Internet Scavenger Hunt, I found more of his songs. His rich voice and poetic music will make you want more. He is an incredible artist, and I can't wait for more from him! LOVE HIM.

I'm kind of upset that you can only get this song if you purchased the bonus album. I've already purchased the normal album. I had no clue about it until afterwards and now I'm out probably one of his best songs.

I never really gave Hozier a chance, I assumed he was just another mainstream artist with catchy, unoriginal choruses and little talent. I was so wrong. He has great music, great vocals and a great range of songs. Can't say enough about how impressed I am with this album.

Very good music, calming, exciting, astonishingly soulful, what I'm amazed at is that, being the age I am, and the music that I typically "love", I wouldn't normally listen to this type of music and like it. Very well done, every song should be worth the money it is valued at.

A brilliant debut album from a unique sound for this generation. However, anyone who has parents who grew up in the 60s and 70s will likely be familiar with Van Morrison. Hozier has a sound distinctly similar to that of his fellow countryman. Nevertheless, a great album and a powerful, fresh sound brought to the music scene. I hope we'll see more from this talented individual.
