- Simply Perfection

The best Streisand album in years!!!

- Love this

Thank you Barbra for sharing your great voice with us.

- Legend and Legend

The track with John is perfect. His voice, and passion match hers. Great old school vibe, slightly over produced, but then again, raise your hand if you are shocked? Either way, BUY IT. Spot on

- Amazing!

Streisand still wonderful! Wish she had added Neil Diamond You Don't Bring Me Flowers...unsurpassable after all these years. Miss her!

- Barbara Streisband

Barbara StreisOLD Chris Brown deserves that number 1 album spot. It's past your time. Much love, Heidi Brown

- Fantastic!

She still sings with the Angels! Duet with her son is amazing! Whole album is amazing! Love the big band, swing sound.

- Barbra Streisand - Partners

WOW - just great - love it all. Way to go Barbra

- Partners

Never will your voice leave; my Soul or Heart!! Thank You For this Wonderful Duet Album.

- Love!!

She is wonderful!

- Superb

This is a superb collection of pop and Broadway standards, each sung with a different male co-star, hence “Partners”. Not only is the sound and vocals lush on every track, each of the songs is beautifully arranged — contrast this to the karaoke-lead-track style of the (also very good) recent Bennett/Gaga album. But here, the arrangements are striking, and you can almost “see” the hours and hours of rehearsal that went into each of the tracks. This isn’t “stand in front of the orchestra and sing” stuff — these vocal arrangements are challenging…they change keys and module in the middle of phrases, and everything sounds superb. Don’t think for a moment that this was an album thrown together in a few days in a studio. This took months of work. And it sounds great.

- very poorly executed

Barbra sounds good, but the editing and mixing of this sounds like it was done by a college student on his computer. Obviously she didn't perform any of these live with the "partner" and on some performances it's very clear the separate tracks were mixed together, but very badly. I get you don't necessarily sing in sync on a duet, but when they should have been, it's many times very off. Her "banter" makes it sound like a 1980's attempt to create a "Partners" album and the whole feel of this album sounds dated. I wondered why she needed to do the late-night talk shows to sell a record, I get it now.

- Bab,s cd

WOW wonderful i love the duet with her son he has his mom,s talent just beautiful

- Not Her Best Work

I'm a huge fan of Barbra Streisand's music. Her voice is incredible and I have all of her albums. I've seen her perform live, twice, and I'll never forget it. So when I saw she was coming out with another album of duets, I was thrilled. The artists she would be working with are stellar. Two days after it was released I ordered it on iTunes and I'm not sure I have a word for it other than disappointed. Her voice remains incredible but the duets were awful. Her voice didn't mesh well with the majority of artists she sang with. And The Way We Were with Lionel Richie? What was that? As one of my favorite songs that was turned into an ugly mess! And I love Lionel Richie as well! I can't bring myself to listen to this version again! In the end, the $8 I paid wasn't a total loss, as I enjoyed 3 songs on the album, but overall it was just bad. Sorry Barbra. I love to hear you sing and the duets you've done in the past were fantastic! This album just doesn't measure up.

- Missed Sir Elton...

Almost Ms. S. But Elton John and Johnny Mathis.. But still kinda great.. I grew up with You Johnny and Ray.. Elvis is great But over baked and done... But I am a SUPERWOMAN!!

- Refreshing

I think everyone has the right to his or her own opinion. In my opinion Barbara sounds good reguardless. My top choices are the duets with: Babyface, Michael Buble, and Jason Gould. Gives me something refreshing to hear on my way to work.

- Barbra Streisand

She still has an amazing voice. Singing with other great voices has made wonderful duets for our listening pleasure!!

- Legendary!!!!

I am awe struck. Barbara Streisand and John Legend... That's Grammy worthy! "What kind of fool" blew me away and brought a tear to my eye.

- Still the Best!!

Barbra never fails to deliver. So excited to hear some great music once again. It's so hard to find these days. Barbra has been the soundtrack to my life.

- GREAT

All I can say is this is one of the best albums I have heard in a long time!!!!!

- Is she….

crossed-eyed in that picture? Oof.

- Gorgeous album with brilliant vocal arrangements!

This album is absolute perfection! I can't stop listening to it, the vocal and instrumental arrangements are brilliant, making each song sound fresh and original. Bravo to all involved!

- TONY AND BARBRA GET A GIMMICK

Tony and Barbra get a gimmick Armen Pandola As the strippers in Gypsy sing, you gotta get a gimmick if you want to be a star! Scratch that — you gotta get a gimmick if you want to remain a star. So Tony Bennett makes music with Lady Gaga. And Barbra sings duets with a dozen guys, not all of them alive. Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett: The only problem is when they are singing together. (Sony Music Entertainment) And the beat goes on. Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose. Together, Tony Bennett and Barbra Streisand have well over a century in the music business. Their music has bridged generations and, along the way, they have reinvented themselves many times. And yet in today’s topsy-turvy music world, even they have to kowtow to Mammon. Many partners . . . For Babs, the gimmick is an album called Partners. She sings her own songbook with a dozen men. One is her own son, and one is dead. The songs are the usual suspects — “People,” “The Way We Were,” “What Kind of Fool” — and a bevy of standards. While the songs are old, the arrangements are new, or at least newish. In recent years, Barbra’s once-innovative arrangements from the likes of Peter Matz, Michel Legrand, and Ray Ellis have mostly become layers of wet muted sound that don’t highlight the song and singer so much as drown them in a tub of stringy glue. But Partners has some good arrangements, tailored to the vocal abilities (or, in some cases, inabilities) of her partners. Partners has already become Streisand’s 10th number one album, making her the first artist to have number one albums in each of the past six decades. Here are the highlights: “People” is redone with a bossa nova beat and has a lovely harmonica solo by partner Stevie Wonder “The Way We Were” becomes a duet with Lionel Richie “Come Rain or Come Shine” shines as Barbra vocally matches the blues-guitar licks of John Mayer “What Kind of Fool” is a revelation — it’s a fine song now that the wa-wa-box voice of Barry Gibb is replaced by a solid John Legend vocal “It Had To Be You,” with Michael Bublé, is one of the few upbeat tunes “Somewhere” with Josh Groban — yes, she can still hit those notes. “Love Me Tender” with Elvis is beautifully put together Probably because of her Broadway and movie musical background, Barbra plays well with other singers. So even when she is singing in a genre she rarely visits, as in a country tune with Blake Shelton, a semi-operatic tune with Andrea Bocelli, or a duet with a ghost, she makes it work. . . . or just one For Tony, the gimmick is being Cheek to Cheek with Lady Gaga. And yes, she can sing. Her outrageous public persona is actually a well-crafted PR campaign that has made her the biggest name in pop music. Teaming with Tony Bennett is just one more outrageous costume for her, but it is hardly innovative. Many other pop singers have trod this ground before. In the 1980s, Linda Ronstadt asked the great arranger Nelson Riddle to work on a song with her. He didn’t do songs, he responded, just albums. So, they joined forces on one of the most successful series of albums of the decade — What’s New, Lush Life, and For Sentimental Reasons sold over 7 million copies. Others from the pop world followed her lead, and the next two decades saw a bevy of '60s and '70s rockers take on standards: Rod Stewart, Barry Manilow, Carly Simon, Joni Mitchell, even Ringo and Paul! All have taken the melodic plunge into Porter, Berlin, Gershwin, and Rodgers and Hart. Tony has been successfully singing this music for over 60 years, but he rarely makes music with another singer. In fact, k.d. lang is the only other singer who has shared an entire album (A Wonderful World) with Tony, although he has made two previous albums of duets with a mix of singers. He doesn’t play well with other singers — musicians yes, singers no — because of his unique sense of timing and his incredible vocal abilities. Left in the dust So his collaboration with Lady Gaga is a mixed bag. She sings very well and on her solo songs (“Lush Life,” “Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye,” and “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)”) proves that she is a fine jazz singer. Tony is Tony. He brings so much musicianship to every song that it’s like hearing them for the first time. He has two solos, “Sophisticated Lady” and “Don’t Wait Too Long,” and a third song, “Goody Goody,” is a revenge song he sings while she throws out one-liners about how mean he is to be so happy when she’s so sad. The only problem is when they are singing together, which is not often, actually. Yes, they do the same song, but they sing different verses, coming together only at the end of the song. When they do sing together, she has trouble figuring out where he is going and it’s obvious that he isn’t listening to her — and why would he? He knows only one way of singing, so she had better follow him. Sometimes, she gets lost. But the CD is still a winner with incredible arrangements and solo performances by a bevy of great musicians. “It Don’t Mean A Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing)”, “Let’s Face the Music and Dance,” “Nature Boy," and the title song, “Cheek to Cheek,” are standouts. So the lesson is — sometimes gimmicks work.

- The Sony Machine.

Just like celine and her countless covers and remakes. This album was obviously made hastily and easily. Shocker that tony Bennetts on Columbia too lol.. Sony is just a machine churning out albums to fulfill contracts and there's hardly any artistic creativity involved. This group of songs has proved what I thought about Sony all along. Shocker celine and other Sony artist aren't here too. Smh.

- Still the BEST

There is no denying that Streisand is a legend, a serious artist and generous philanthropist. 50 years in this business - she owns what she creates and she does it the BEST! This album is my favorite since "The Broadway Album." I've also seen her twice in concert, 1996 in Los Angeles and 2012 in Brooklyn. That incredible voice coming out of such a small woman. She has been sent from someone or something above. I only wish we could have for forever!

- Streisand Rules

I would have given 4 stars if it was all new material. I have been a Barbra fan for years, I like many of the song interpretations. Her voice is changing some, but so is mine. I am so glad that she and other favorites of mine like Olivia Newton-John are still going strong. They are rare talents with a maturity in their music that many of today's artist do not have.

- She's a classic

To be quite honest I don't like Barbara's outspoken demeanor and politics, but whoa can she sing!

- Oh My Gosh!!!

Like Jimmy Fallon said when she went back to the Tonight Show - there's NOBODY like Barbra! I LOVE that this album is filled with standards and her songs...done the way she's feeling it today. The only song I didn't immediately love was the one I didn't know. Thank you, Barbra, for making us a new one. You are the BEST!!!

- This is simply, the best.

I remember the first time I started describing food professionally. After that first review, i realized this is what i wanted my life to be. I had it all-- food, money, and power. The older i got i realized power was all i really needed. Power, Power, and more Power. I craved it. I CRAVED it. And as i, crazin', craved it more and more i sunk deeper and deeper into the pit that is food journalism. It surrounded me and trapped me, and i wasn’t even aware. And then i heard barb’ra. Her voice, her, power, her presence. It straightened me up good. Lets just say I’m in a NEW YORK STATE OF MIND ;)))) Love, T. L. Greta

- How deep is the songstress

What a heartfelt and moving collection of recordings. My particular favorite is the mother/son duet she performs with son Jason Gould - How Deep Is The Ocean, which reminded me of when, as a young boy, my mother accompanied me on the piano (cherished moments). The opening number, with Michael Buble, is a stand alone hit. I was surprised how incredible the duet with Billy Joel sounded, too. The two of them should do more. More, more, more

- That Blues guitar

Cannot get enough of Barbra and John. Great song and fantastic guitar skill.

- Barbara Streisand- Partners

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! Gave me goose bumps listening to it!! Barbara still's got it!!!

- Wonderful

What a beautiful album with so many talented artists Listening to the wonderful harmonies brought peace to my soul A truly wonderful collaboration... Heavenly

- She's still got it!

I love this new spin on her classic style and standards. She is in excellent voice, and the arrangements are fantastic. Best of her new releases since "back to broadway."

- Love it!!!

I don't care if she records these 10 more times, I would buy each cd! My fav is the song she did with her son Jason Gould. He has his mother's voice! Go Babs!!!!'

- Wonderful!

Just a great album overall. :)

- Outstanding. Brilliant.

Superb duets. I adore Barbra, & these duets were just the best thing I could ever ask for (especially the one with Josh Groban). Two thumbs up from a major Broadway geek.

- AMAZING

Wow, Barbra is the best! Love this album...

- partners

Barbra amazing

- Everything I expected and MORE!!!

Barbra’s voice is superb and with the compliment of the talents that joined her, every song is magical. Can’t believe the hidden musical talent of her son, Jason Gould. What an amazing voice! Want to hear WAY more from him!!

- Gorgeous!

She's done it again! A masterpice this album is Yes, her voice has changed and yes, she doesn't sing like when she was 20 or 30 BUT at 72, she sings way better than most newcomers and not so newcomers half her age The arrangements were tailored to fit her and her partners voices and tehy did a heck of a job! My favs? New York State of Mind and It had to be you...

- Gorgeous album!

Love this. Barbra with all of these different singers and how they mesh...is brilliant! Love every single song on the album. Kudos!

- Nice

Cool

- Masterful

Streisand is such a pure talent. An amazing collection. Love Me Tender renders me speechless.

- Come on guys

We all know that the only reason this album is above chris brown’s is because the people who listen to barbara streisand are too old to realize they can get the album without paying for it #teambreezy

- Partners

Love this album. Its not everyday that a singer can sound exactly the same throughout her whole career. She is 72 and sounds amazing. Her voice is flawless

- GREAT.....

This is a great album as only Babs can do...very easy to listen to unlike the rest of the so called current "singers" the wait was worth it....

- Splendid!!!

Perfect Album for a perfect person!

- Oh Man Christmas is going to be good

Classic music is making a resurgence. My favorite track so far is Evergreen. But man this whole album is rocking. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful....... Did I say beautiful?

- Streisand is still great

I got a preview of the song that Barbra Streisand did with Michael Buble and it was wonderful. All the songs are so wonderful and she still has such a wonderful voice all these years later

- Okay-All Great Singers but Not Together

I was looking forward to this one. And individually, each singer does a great job on the song. But...unfortunately the voices don't mesh. Her voice is awesome, and (for example) Lionel Richie sounds good--but not together. The singers she chose do not go with her voice and the resulting sounds are not always easy to hear. Definitely could be better.
