Any fan of rock should have this album in their playlist. Every one of these songs are awesome, from "More than a feeling", "Rock & Roll Band", "Foreplay/Long Time", and "Peace of Mind" are all absolute gems.

This was the only album in history that I could listen to without skipping tracks.

This album gives me peace of mind

Only surpassed by Van Halen's self-titled album. Now I Know some of the tracks in Van Halen's album had bad songs like I'm on fire, and this one has all good songs, but there is a reason why I like Van Halen's album better. In Van Halen, the album shows the great talent of all four band members. In this album, It's just Tom, Brad, and the drummer. The bassist is just as important as the vocalist, guitarist, and drummer. Without it, music would sound stupid. If you want to see what its like without the bass, I recommend downloading Metallica's "...And Justice for All", which had none at all. If I heard more of the bass, then this would be my no. 1 favorite debut album.

Heard this at my friends house last night and thought I was 16 again! The memories came flowing back and I loved it so much. Yes this group is so sophisticated. I was at the concert here in Cincinnati and when they were going off stage, Barry Goudreau through a leather beaded bracelet in the air and I caught it. I still have it to this day. my little brush with fame.

I was about 15 when this album came out on vinyl in 1976, and I didn’t need to buy it - my brother did, and he played it often enough in his room and KGON 92.3 played the hell out of this album I knew the lyrics by heart. I still wish that the band hadn’t imploded the way it did - we wouldn’t be left with this one musical masterpiece. I’m still playing this album from time to time - it’s just that great...

One great song after another; probably the best debut album of all time. To those critics who poo-poo 70's rock as vacuous, this is the perfect answer.

I have listened to this album since I was 10 years old and I am 46 now. When Brad belts out "Look Ahead" on Peace of Mind. I get shivers. One of the greatest vocal tracks in rock n roll history. bar none.

I first heard this album as a young boy and after sitting in my room, after the last song had played in my headphones, my first thought was " Boston is 20 years ahead of its time ". I was 16 years old. From the incredible guitar riffs of Tom Scholtz, the amazing drums of Sib Sirhan and and need I even try to applaud the vocals of Brad Delp? Music lost a part of its soul when he died. Boston is the first and only album I have ever heard that I would pick every song as a #1. And I mean of EVERY GENRE I have listened to. Country, pop, rock, blues and jazz. I have bought this album many times over the years- vinyl, cassette, CD and now iTunes. Listen to it alone, and immerse yourself in the music. Then play it for your friends and family. Today I still think it's 20 years ahead of its time.. In 2015.

Boston is one of my favorite classic rock bands from the 70's! Great songs, big time classic! More Than a Feeling, Piece of Mind, and other great songs I like from this album. I'm a pretty big fan of Boston, and they're music never gets old!

"Boston" is one of the best rock albums ever! I remember the first time I jammed out to this album. Nothing but good memories. They just don't make quality music like this anymore. I almost feel like I'm stealing the album because the price is so low. If you are a Boston fan I 100/percent recommend this album to start a collection of greatest hits!

I can't tell you how many times I played this album as a kid. I love lots of different music now, but there is something about this album that can't be denied. It's gotta be in your Top Ten....buckle- up, hang-on and enjoy!!

Every song is great. Hitch a Ride has probably the greatest dueling lead guitar solos ever.

I owned this album on vinyl. I had the 8 track, cassette, then CD. Now it is in my iTunes library. It is just that great! A 5 rating is unfairly low.

I bought this album already knowing some of the songs, and was excited to listen to the ones I didn't know about yet. I'm glad that I did purchase this, for it made me realize how great of a band Boston is. I find 'Peace of Mind' to be very relatable, especially now that I'm a college student learning to take on the world. This has become one of my favorite albums, and I definitely recommend buying it.

Boston’s debut album without a doubt is one of the best rock and roll albums. Period. Tom’s guitars and Brad’s soaring vocals equals perfection. My only criticism of the album is that it ends too soon.

This is easily my favorite album ever.

1) More than a Feeling: Easily the most recognizable of the album and a wonderful riff/solo. A great rock anthem of the 70's. Vocals of Delp are outstanding. 2) Peace of Mind: Amazing song overall. Great sound, beat, and easily on my top 25 best solos list. 3) Foreplay/Long Time: Foreplay was written in 1969 by Tom. Even released in 76', that piece was still ahead of its time! Long Time is a great song with a killer solo near the end and finishing with an amazing modified chorus. 4) Rock n' Roll Band: The first Boston song I ever learned to play and hear! Amazing song, love the lyrics of the verses. Short but simple song. 5) My favorite, Smokin'!: Written by Tom and Co-Written by Delp, Smokin' has one of the best rocking keyboard/synthesizer solos in rock and roll! Those vocals at the end are astonishing. Great tune to groove to, great song. 6) Hitch a Ride: In my opinion, this is one of the top 3 dueling guitar solos I've ever heard, easily. Very smooth feel in the B flat key. This 1:30 long solo builds intensity and ends smoothly. If you're a guitar player, definitely grab a friend to play this with. 7) Something About You: Most underrated Boston song! Love the beginning riff and the vocals in the beginning. Also, great chord progressions. For some reason, I love that simple ending with the drums. 8) Let me Take You Home Tonight: 2 words - perfect closer! Written by Delp, this song has a great feel and some inspirational lyrics and a very cool effect/sound in the beginning. Key changes at the end give this song the perfect closer for a perfect album. Overall: Tom was a perfectionist. From 1969 to 1976, Foreplay to backup harmonies, Tom kept changing the songs to give them the best sound possible. Due to his perfectionism, this album sold 17 million records, and is still selling almost 40 years later. Especially recording most of this with his own equipment in his own basement, Tom absolutely created either a runner up for top 10 albums of all time, or is part of every list. If you haven't yet seen them live and love the album, I suggest you get tickets to see them, even though Brad sadly passed. I also recommend the Don't Look Back album, and maybe even purchasing the Third Stage. 10/10 album.

Every single song on here is great! Brad Delp's vocals are amazing and Tom Scholz on the guitar is fantastic! This album is essential to anyone who likes classic rock! My favorite song is probably 'Peace of Mind.'

This is one of the all time great classic rock albums. A must have, just like a pair of jeans. Every song on this album is great. How many times can you say that about record now a days.
