There isn't much new here. I see how he has taken Gospel and mixed it with R&B in a way, but that just isn't my cup of tea. I was hoping for an Alternative album like it was marketed to be, but it was not. The single, the very first track, is the only thing that was new to me and that I would consider the be an alt. song, but there were only 2 or 3 songs that I can recall now after listening to it.

This is one of those albums where every song is as good as the next. Great compilation of song genres. Lyrics and messages of songs are really great too. Have the CD and on iTunes

I've been buying music off of the iTunes Store for years now and I have never bought an album... Hozier was the first album I bought due to its soul and powerful music! Well done!

This album is not to be missed. The most popular song Take me to Church is amazing and so is From Eden. This album is creative and so are the music videos that go with it. I love the Take me to Church video. It's a story of gay lovers being tormented because of who they are and From Eden is a story of a couple and their son, a young boy, going on the run because the couple are wanted criminals. Love this album.

At first I only bought “Take Me To Church” after I saw him on SNL. Then I listened to part of the other tracks and decided to get the rest of the CD. I love the unique quality of Hozier’s voice and his lyrics really speak to me. I expect to see more amazing songs from him in the future.

Not very often I like every track on an album, but that's the case here. Very unique sound fell in love with Take Me To Church, and love the soulful sound that is demonstrated through out the album.

It is so disappointing whent the songwriting and vocals are so good, but the production is so bad. The distrotion overpowers the vocal and instrument tracks and the levels are too hot, clipping the low frequencies. A shame...

Its too bad that the only popular song is Take Me To Church. All the songs are just as good, if not better. Filled with actual instruments (and I can't say that about many bands nowadays), it is a masterpiece
