It's beautiful, romantic, hilarious, and utterly personal. Clearly a side of Josh that many of his fans haven't seen.

This album is incredible. what a great follow up to fear fun.

The song Holy S&@t is absolutely phenomenal. One of the best songs I've ever heard. It's like when you really like this one part in a song and you don't want it to stop. That is this whole song. Definitely worth the ten dollars alone. Stop reading and buy it already!!

This sounds like Father John Misty has thrown a high school prom in your honor, with a disco ball and confetti falling from the ceiling. If you don't have "fear fun," buy that too. Just plain good music.

My current favorite, this album is an instant indie classic. Father John Misty is now one of my favorite modern artists.

Heard a press copy of “I Love You, Honeybear” and it is another lyrical tour de force. There isn’t a wittier, more self-assured yet self-deprecating, razor sharp lyricist around. This is an early record of the year candidate without a doubt. I love it. You’re going to love “The Night Josh Tillman Came to Our Apartment”. This guy is a freight train through the Catskills.

Usually the artists struggle to reach the level of quality of their first big album but I think this album is equivalent, if not better than his last

I have been laying on my living room floor for the past hour basking in the beautiful hymns of Father John Misty. Have you ever heard an album that simultaneously created a fire in your loins and made joyous tears fall from your ducts? Now is your chance.

I really, really, I mean really enjoyed Fear Fun but I think this album might end up being considered his best when it’s all said and done. The tone and content is somewhat different on this album but his lyrical genius has not wavered in the least. Buy this album and play it all the way through a few times, just don’t expect to not feel something.

…I realized that this will be much like his last album: after a few spins I could quickly tell Honeybear will become my favorite album of recent times. Fear Fun was one of those “it’s great front-to-back and gets better with each listen” records. This one is no different. Buy it thru Sub Pop. Take the extra step to put it on your goddamn iPhone.

Go to the desert with an ice chest full of beers, a guitar, some hand drums and give me some of that old stuff man. Time to ditch this alter ego and regain that life force that made you great. This stuff is bunk, its like listening to riddles.

Do you think he's laughing at the irony while people listen to his album while being "Bored in the USA"? Sorry, not impressed. I'm glad he does have fans, I think he might have something useful to say if it was more encouraging to maybe DO something differently. Maybe I'm too old to find his lyrics amusing or uplifting. Not needing to waste my time listening. So long, honeybear. It's not for everyone.
