I think John is so good because his songs are masterpieces. I love them so much! I also think that his songs would become the most popular songs in every country and city, and even around the world! He is the greatest song inventor-composer in the world! I love him!!!!!
To me there are three main movie composers: John Williams, Danny Elfman, and the rest. This album is a stupendous collection of memorable and mesmerizing movie themes and scenes. If you love John's work then do not let this one go by.
John Williams makes the best music! My favorite is duel of the fates.
I have this CD but I bought the two disk edition at Best Buy. I absolutely love it so much. I cannot stop listening to it. And I have had it for months now. I cannot get over how amazing John Williams is. It is a shame that more high schoolers my age don't like his music.
This is the one word that comes to mind every time I listen to something John Williams has composed. He is simply amazing. If you doubt him in any way, listen to "Summon the Heroes." It is a true testament to the amazing music he has written and what he is still capable of creating. His understanding for different styles is unbelievable and every time I hear something he has created I'm left with one word on my lips. WOW.
John Williams... Your music blows me away.
John is amazing. composer of catchy tunes which one can never forget. This album showcases the early william successes. I'm looking forward to his part 2 best of.
Hook, indiana jones, and jurassic park all the movies that i loved to watch as a kid and its nice to be able to hear this music again. It brings back good memories and i love that i can listen to it anytime that i want now..
the world's 3 greatest composers are listed in this order: John Williams, Jerry Goldmith, and John Barry. Also: how the heck is this pop?
This compilation is a mix of cuts from original soundtrack albums and rerecordings Williams did throughout the 90s with Boston Pops, Pittsburgh Symphony and others. Great Artists, great music just would have been even greater if it had been all original recordings.
I own this CD, and some of the best are omitted from this listing. If iTunes needs files of the music it's missing, I can donate them. But, anyways, this CD is terrific, but I wouldn't buy it from here until it's fixed. Buy the actual CD.
I love this song so much I just I’m obsessed with Star Wars it’s my favorite thing in the whole world and Darth Vader is my favorite character from it so I HAD to make it my ringtone!
I have been to 2 of John Williams live performances. Once at the Hollywood Bowl and once at the Walt Disney Concert Studios. It was an amazing experiance! My wife and i were blown away by the music and creativity that John brings to the movies. I love all oh his music and cant wait to go to my next concert. For now the downloaded music will have to do!
This set has some of John Williams best music, though I wish it had some of his newer stuff. You should buy it if you're a John Williams fan!
Everything seems to be in place when you hear his music. Sometimes I connect with the movies but most of the time I am listening as a piece of music ... no matter what, Mr. Williams is magnificent!!! Thank you for your music and inspiration!
I love music...all music, from Classical to rock, jazz to Broadway, country and back. Classical is so "underheard" in America....sometimes it seems like great classical composing stopped after Copeland, but John Williams is phenominal.....he can morph from light to serious, as did Mozart and many of the worlds' geniuses....I would definitely recommend this CD and hope others are as stirred by music as I am

Listening to this in 2024 is amazing, I’ve always been obsessed with Star Wars, got it from my uncle! It feels so nostalgic!
This composer has done so much he is awesome
John Williams has produced some of the best music to really bring movies alive over several decades. It seems like everything he touches is perfection and exactly what each movie needs. This Cd set will bring back childhood memories as you relive oast watchings. Expertly played by the orchestra, this is a true jem!
For those of you giving this album a 4 out of 5 - Really? If this doesn't qualify as a 5 star album I don't know what does. John Williams is an inspiration, the absolute best composer ever in my book.
John Williams is the greatest composer to ever live, period.
You know, I almost found myself respecting the Anime geek's dissenting opinion. He or she maintains they're classically trained (as if they're the only ones) and tries to draw stylistic comparisons and call them plagiarism. Some of what AG points out (Tatooine/Rite of Spring) Williams has come right out and explained his inspiration and imitation. But where AG really lost me was suggesting Nobuo Uematsu instead. Oh my, not ever. That's proof that all that blather about education and deep classical knowledge was a ruse to support his slagging off Mr. Williams. NU's compositions, esp. for the Final Fantasy series, are so pedestrian, so worn, so unoriginal as to be laughable. There is not one way in which they can be considered better quality. As a classically trained musician and choir director, and film score aficionado, I downloaded two of NU's FF scores on the advice of a friend. Rarely has music so disappointed me. So don't listen to such empty dissent. JW is brilliant. His movie scores become part of our cultural consciousness. This collection is a wonderful cross section of his immense and amazing body of work.
John Willams is one of the best composers in history!!!
This is definitely worth $16.99. John Williams is such an amazing composer. You won’t regret buying this (I certainly don’t). The bottom line: If you’re a fan of John Williams, film scores in general, or simply good music, buy this album! My personal favourites are: • Star Wars - Main Title • Superman - Main Title • Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - Parade of the Slave Children • The Empire Strikes Back - The Imperial March • Raiders of the Lost Ark - The Raiders’ March • Schindler’s List Theme • Hook - Flight to Neverland • Duel of the Fates John Williams should have at least 10 or 15 Oscars.
My faroite movie of all time is Juassic Park, so when I saw iTunes got the theme, I bought it. But they don't have the movie. If you thingk that they should get it, please click yes!
John Williams is undoubtedly one of the best composers of the century. This album puts together all of his best works from Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park etc.. He is a musical genius. This compilation will not disappoint!
All these years and i still love these tracks!!! (I think Jurassic Park is the best theme hes done!)
Love the Jurassic park music
This CD showcases John William's finest work. This man composed famous themes from Star Wars, Indiana Jones, E.T., the list goes on and on! Owning this collection is a must! I heard him conduct live, and he is very talented! He is one of this centuries best composers! I highly recommend this album!
to tell you the truth, when i first saw the indiana jones movies, i heard the music and was compeled to say that this was great. Raiders of the lost ark music, i have to say, was the best. Click yes if you agree

der da dun-daaaa da da-daaaa, der da dun-daaaa da da daa daaa daaa
John Williams, one of the most recognised composers for motion picture scores and soundtracks, presents this wonderful double disc CD with his "greatest hits" spanning from 1969 to 1999. From the beginning triumphant Star Wars theme, the orchestral opening sets the mark for the rest of this stunnning compilation. A mix of well-known Star Wars themes, from the Main Theme, to Luke and Leia's theme, and Darth Vader's theme (The Imperial March), are a treat for the original trilogy fans. Duel Of The Fates from Episode I is also included (but not on iTunes, shame). He has also added a few selections from the Indiana Jones trilogy, with action and suspense leading the listener on their own journey. Themes from other blockbusters, such as E.T., Jaws and Jurassic Park, are a great addition, but unfortunately the themes from Superman, Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan didn't make the cut on this partial album.
Dudes, he composed some of the best movie themes ever like Star Wars and hobbit! Nobody tops this guy:) thnx John and good luck with the 7th Star Wars!
