I've only just recently discovered Taylor Swift's catalogue of music through social media videos. I knew a few of her songs because i only owned one of her albums-1989. Having had iTunes i have been able to download a few more and really listen to them. In my opinion Taylor is a bonifide Song Writer/Lyricist who writes from "truth" and "experience". Her methods of exposing her Ex's through her music is very advant garde, but understable and very theraputic, i might guess.. I heard about her Masters situation and the re-recordings and thought what a great time to discover her again. I previously had downlaod the original Red album and liked it alot, especially highly emtional "All Too Well" "I Almost Do" and upbeat "22" "We're Never get Back Together". I'm sure most of us have experienced heartache and betrayal at some point in our lives and we might wrote it a;ll in a Diary. Angry' bitter words full of angst. We'd also write down the good days filled with joy and happiness. This is what i get from thsi album. I can relate to it in parts. I admire Taylor's way of writing lyrics that invoke emotions that we generally are too shy to express. The extended versions make more sense now than the shortened originals. You don't have to be a teenager to enjoy this album. You Just need to be human with emotions and a good heart that's been tainted and hurt. Well worth a listen. Ignore the media hype and enjoy a true writer expressing herself, purgimg her soul for all the world to listen to.
