Wasn’t sure what to expect when I first listened. What followed was 45 minutes (or 54 if listening to the Japanese version) of artistic excellence. Has my early vote for album of the year.

Insane that they can still do something like this

refreshing palate cleanser with plenty of sounds that remind me of Modern Vampires and Contra. it seems like the guys had lots of fun with these songs, which is all you can really ask for in a music artist. just make music that, while it doesn't appeal to everybody, you at least thoroughly enjoyed creating said music. i tip my hat to you, Vampire Weekend. you have created another certified banger

Notice the "overproduction" hollow computerized sound of a band whose previous works had clear instrumentation and vocals? Going commercial as many bands do. Unfortunate, and how still today do labels, managers, corportate gumbos, etc persuade the true talented musicians to go this way. Like the 2 star rating simply states "I Don't Like It."

This album harkens back to their debut album, with most of the songs incorporating classical elements. Some of the songs are heavily produced, but done so with a clear artistic purpose. If you’ve been a fan so far, you will like this one too.

Wow! The first two releases from this upcoming LP are Vampire Weekend at their best. No way I’m not pre-ordering the LP. Cannot wait.

It is always a good day when you can start it off with fresh, great music. Remind me of old VM, but fresh.

Been a big fan since A-Punk and got to go to their most recent concert for this album tour and the guitar sounded so amazing! This music really trances you if the circumstances are right

Both new songs are good but why add in the ear piercing screeching guitar!? Almost makes the songs unlistenable. Who was responsible for thinking that was a good addition?

To the iTunes staff writer who wrote the album summary- I don’t think ‘Mary Boone’ is sampling the background of “Back to Life.’ I think it’s sampling Primitive Radio Gods’ song ‘Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth With Money in My Hand.’ Both songs have that very 90s-esque beat and rhythm but the tempo in ‘Mary Boone’ matches up more to the PRG song. Or maybe it is ‘Back to Life’ and they’ve just slowed it down a little bit. Also, yay!- finally us Capricorns get some love with an actual song…and it’s really good too! Overall, the album is better than good but not knocking my socks off (yet). I think I will become more attached to the album as a whole with a few more listening seshes.
