Kudos to Beyonce and Ryan Tedder for crafting such an epic pop tune. B is in top form here and Ryan's signature arrangements that build to soaring heights make "Halo" the top track from an otherwise one-note A-side to the album.

I see a lot of complaining about the dance remixes for this song. I really couldn't care less. I love the Dave Aude Club Mix. In fact, I believe that it's better than any version of "Halo" here, including the original. I think it's actually a shame that I've had to wait this long for a classic dance remix to offshoot from the "...Sasha Fierce" album. Lyrically, this song is truly great on it's own. But, the dance element that Dave Aude provides makes this a club classic.

I've always been hard to please with remixes, but these are just a bit too long (the shortest is 7:13), and all of them take away from the style of what Beyonce obviously wanted the song to be. On that note, why not bring in some Diva remixes? That song is hot, and is Beyonce's next single, plus there are already quite a few playing in clubs.

Everyone knows that Beyonce has a fantastic voice, and, discounting her sometimes criminal House of Derion fashions, she has the amazing talent to succeed at anything. But, until I heard a remix of this song (the UK Radio remix), I had never been inclined to purchase ANY of her songs. This song is amazing, and a remix album well worth the five bucks.

There are 2 reasons why. First of all, it has the radio edit. The radio edit is what the original artist did to the song to make it more popular. Well, that's bad because of what's popular today. Like 3 by Brittany Spears for instance. It's auto-tuned with bad lyrics, a terrible instrumental (if that's what you want to call it) and it's not catchy. That's what's popular. So, if a popular artist, like Beyonce, releases a song that the producers don't think is 'mainstream' enough, they remix it to make it more popular. It's almost always called the radio edit, because it's played on the radio (radio edit can also mean the clean version). This almost always fails, because people fell in love with the artist for the original, no matter how 'mainstream' it is. So I'm begging you, keep it that way. Don't buy what the producers did to make it more popular. Second reason is the remixes (can you believe it? All that for just the first track). So the original was a ballad. Duh. The reason this was remixed is that ballads aren't meant to be danced to, so people think that if they remix it, people will buy it for clubs and parties. Well, that was a huge mistake. A ballad should stay a ballad. Turning it into a dance track makes it an entirely new song. It's not Halo anymore. Halo is an amazing song. The remixes are terrible. So anyway, if you want to dance to the original Halo, well, too bad. But the remixes won't work if you want to dance to Halo, just because it's such a different song. So in about 10 lines, I've completely discredited the album. Not bad for an eleven year old.
