I love the music and I love the movie. This movie and avatar are my two favorites of the year.

amazing movie, I just saw it yesterday. anyone who's into a fast paced action mystery flick with great fight scenes and ingenious plot twists should check this out. plus, the soundtrack fits it perfectly. Hans Zimmer just gets better and better. the dark knight music was great, but this is fantastic. 5 out of 5 for the movie and the soundtrack! can't wait for Sherlock holmes 2. haha if you saw the movie you know what I mean.

When I saw this movie, I didn't expect to hear a soundtrack such as this! It has so many different elements in it, just like the movie! It's sound is original, quirky, and very much like 19th century England itself. Somehow it fits in perfectly with the New Sherlock Holmes, and I, for one, enjoyed the New Sherlock both as a character and as a movie!

I have loved this soundtrack from the first time I listened to it. Hans Zimmer is an amazing composer. There is a brief moment where you can hear bagpipes in Phsycological Recovery...6 Months. From beginning to end, this is an amazing score.

What is great about Hans Zimmer is that he can take what ever source material is presented to him and give it a much needed burst of energy. From romances to gladiator movies, he moves us with his stirring scores to reach out with someone and cry or to pump our fists in excitement. With this score Hans has combined Bohemian classical with the modern day action, and the result is something of a breath of fresh air. With a theme that will stick with you for days, and an underscore that perfectly fits each and every scene of the movie, Hans shows once again that he is a master of the art of musical composition. Years from now they will make an anthology of his music, with the theme of this soundtrack being included. And people will say, without a doubt, "Why don't they still write music like this any more?" This soundtrack is the work of a master, and should be downloaded immediately.

Hans Zimmer Does It AGAIN!!! He has created many scores for a lot of movies including Madagascar 2, The Lion King, The Dark Knight, and many more. All of his pieces of art are great!! The movie was great and I think it fit right into it. It was full of Old-English-Type music that has a hint of mysteriousness. Great Job Hans!!!

Although the tune and style repeats itsel in many different pitches and formats the sinister yet classical Piano vividly captures the soul of the Music behind the Industrial Revolutions 1880's London. With heart quickening tunes that will sure compell you to wear a newsboy cap, a white long sleeved cotton shirt with a sleevless tan vest. The music will capture your ears and make you repeat over and over. Although not exactly "catchy" names, it reminds you of great scenes from a exciting movie. I recommend the movie as well.

This is top of the line stuff! I'm not even a "Studio Orchestra Soundtrack" lover, but this, along with each and every Pirates of the Carribean soundtrack, is amazing. My friend and I were dancing around in our seats at the movie theater haha. :) It's hands-down quality music that will be stuck in your head for days, guranteed.

Rocky Road to Dublin was a highlight of a _wonderful_ soundtrack, but I'm sick to death of songs like it being excluded as if they're not part of the film because they aren't performed by the orchestra. There is no excuse for this, legal or philosophical.

Another astounding score by Zimmer. His music moves with the film; it amplifies the affect of each scene, punctuating the subtle changes in mood and speed. It is worth the buy, and perhaps the most intriguing score I've ever heard.

This soundtrack is one of the finest pieces of work ever done by Hans Zimmer. To those asking for The Rocky Road to Dublin, the song was commisioned for use in the movie only. Hans Zimmer did not create the song and therefore owns no rights to the song and they have no legal right to sell it on their soundtrack. Stop whining, complaining and giving bad reviews to a great album just becase it doesn't have a song that isn't even theirs to sell.

This soundtrack is by far one of the best that I've come across in a long time! The instrumentals (especially the violin use) is extravagant. Top favorite is the "I Never Woke Up In Handcuffs Before". Very inticing, sensuous number. It is currently on "repeat".

This album truly defines Sherlock Holmes for what he is: a literary hero turned film action star with all the intelligence and wit we loved in the novels. The "old-timey" theme mixed with the score of an intelligent action flick make this soundtrack yet another of Hans Zimmer's great achievments. It truly brings the character of the manic, smart, socially akward, tough, rouge detective to light and gives the feel of a classic. In a sense, this score was the novel in music form. Exactly what Sherlock Holmes needed! Rather than take away from the film as some soundtracks can, Hans melds his music with the moments, adding to the action, suspense, and witty scenes from the film, making it flow like it had been built into the background. This album is definately worth the purchase, and makes for a great "stress-relief"/"writing" playlist for those of us who enjoy wordless music to get things done to! Give it a try! It's worth it!

As everyone knows, you can't have a movie without a music backround. Not only does the music complete the movie wonderfully, it is also a joy to listen to. The many different instraments create a colorful and fun-filled listening experience. Just listening to the music helps you understand a sense of what is happening, and you can hear something more every listen. The music captures the world of Sherlock Holmes, and makes listening to it an different and amazing experience. It is definatly worth the money (which is a very good price), an awesome buy!!

Who would have guessed that Zimmer would come out with the best work of his career after the success of The Dark Knight? Every aspect of this score perfectly compliments the world of Sherlock Holmes and it would be a crime if this score were ignored come award time. Amazing.

This is a great soundtrack, it fits the movie very well. I especially love the rough method used with the numerous string instruments. I love the movie and I greatly enjoy the soundtrack. The only complaint that I have is that there is a considerable amount of repitition when it comes to the theme of the movie. It seems to come up in almost every track and leaves me very slightly discontented. Other than that minor speculation, I love the soundtrack.

Hans Zimmer is absolutely brilliant in creating the sound of Victorian London. When I saw the movie, besides the incredibly beautiful and accurate set design, the soundtrack pulls you right into Baker Street in the late 1880s. When you listen to 'Discombobulate', and that mad violin solo comes in, you can't help but think of good ol' Holmes playing away on his violin. All of the solos are absolutely incredible in the score, in fact, if you check out the movie's website and click the Musicians link, you can see some video of all of the main soloists and commentary with Mr. Zimmer. Worth a look. And this soundtrack is worth the buy. I listen to it all the time. Good stuff.

I can't help but notice a similarity between the theme (Discombobulate) and the theme song of Showtime's Dexter. If anyone wants to know what I mean, just compare the two songs and you'll know.

First I'd like to say to all the people praising Hanz Zimmer, Hanz Zimmer is a company not a person. After seeing this movie twice I noticed that the composer Hanz Zimmer had no involvement in this score. Now this score is phenomenal perfectly hitting the period of the film. The way violins are used is brilliant. The only thing missing on this soundtrack are the vocal tracks and I'm fine with that because it would get repetitive sounding and the couple of minutes in the film are fine. There are a couple very Zimmer parts on violin and everything on the dock is very Landau esque. All in all a great soundtrack to a great film. Looking forward to a Moriarty theme though.

When the movie just started the music did 2 duhh but I was like "that music is awesome!" something a 14 year old guy doesn't says when all he likes is rock lol it was pretty amazing

hanz has done it again, with another great score. the movie and the music remind me of potc, but there's definitely some distinct differences. all the pirates movies as well as sh have ended up in my top 10 movies, i think, so good job. can't have a good movie without the music :)
