You can't deny that Gungor is a talented group of musicians. After checking out their music, I bought their CD and enjoyed their sound thoroughly. However, I researched them a little more and found that they are quite unbiblical when it comes to their doctrinal beliefs. On Michael Gungor's blog, he strongly defends Emergent Church leader Rob Bell and his book Love Wins, writes off his critics as being "meanies", promotes the consumption of alcohol ( justifying it because Jesus turned water into wine and was accused of being a"glutton and a drunkard"), pines about all the social injustices in the wold and how Christians aren't doing enough, and goes on, and on, and on down a trail of tripe. In my opinion, Gungor comes off as spiritually arrogant, biblically ignorant, and out to put Christians on a guilt trip for being a bunch of self-righteous, judgmental hypocrites. Don't get me wrong, his criticisms aren't completely unwarranted, but they become tedious and overbearing. Knowing the theology behind the frontman in this band, I cannot enjoy it as I once did. Check out his blog for yourself, see what he has to say and don't take my word for it, be a Berean when it comes to understanding God's Word, and let the Holy Spirit be your convicting guide.

Beautiful Things is one of my favorite albums of all time. From You Have Me to Beautiful Things to We Will Run. I love this album. This is by far my favorite Gungor album of all time. I miss this Gungor, although I like their new stuff, I love this way more. It's beautiful.

- A fresh, creative album!

I'm not a fan of general worship music. This album, however, breathes life into an otherwise generic genre. This album has some of my favorite worship songs that I can just use to praise God. Nothing else. The only reason I gave it four stars was that I thought it slowed down creatively towards the end. Still, worth a listen! Favorites: Dry Bones, Beaurtiful Things, Heaven, Cannot Keep You, The Earth Is Yours, and Call Me Out.

I'm 12 and I love "beautiful thing" I tell all my friends about this song. I heard it on the radio and I really didn't like it at that time. Later that summer I want to a church camp. I saw the words to the song and thought about how great of a song it was. I felt so stupid because I didn't like like the sound of the song. That night my like changed for the better, only because I could see the words. I was only 11 but I knew God and I could give my life to him. Since then I keep Gungor on my iPod think about camp every time I see the song. I wish every person could let the words of the song mold their hearts to be with God. Wish Gungor all the luck!!! :D

Less formulaic songwriting is great for the Christian music world. For me "Heaven" featuring Israel Houghton is worth paying the full price of admission. But then I'm a big fan of Mike Farris. If any of you reading this love "Heaven" go look up Mike Farris & give him a listen too.

Michael is awesome! I go to Lakewood Church and he played there once, he was amazing! And Israel Houghton he is my absolute favorite Christian singer! He works at my church and singe there all the time. And the song Beautiful Things is actually the opening when church is about to start, it is SO beautiful!

I'm on the worship team at my church, and we love playing beautiful things, I'm pretty sure it's a church wide favorite too... But the beautiful things track isn't the only reason to buy the album! As a matter of fact, there isn't a song that I don't like on here! They are really really REALLY talented musicians, who are also very refreshing in contemporary Christian music... Some of my favorites are beautiful things, higher, and dry bones... But they are ALL great songs!!

Look up "Gunger heresy". I bought a cd years ago and thought he was excellent. Then in the last year or so, his beliefs and others in his collective came out. Their beliefs do not in anyway line up with the gospel. Do yourself a favor, buy something else from someone who truly knows Christ.

This album was introduced to my wife and I while going through a difficult pregnancy that ended with our son being born into heaven. Theses songs not only mark that season of life for us, but also it has catalyzed a deep connection with the God who has made all things new and makes beautiful things. We welcomed our daughter into the world back in Dec, we rejoice over her and will play these songs that our son heard in the womb and that her mother sang to him. May they speak to your soul...

I love "Beautiful Things" and "Dry Bones". This is an excellent album. Gungor has really created some fresh art, unlike the mainstream Christian music that is dry. If you are tired of hearing the same old same old, this album is for you.This is an exceptional band, and I cannnot wait until they release more albums. Buy Beatiful Things. You will not regret it. Even if you do not want the whole album, at least buy "Beautiful Things". How many things can you buy at the dollar store that are this amazing? Spend your money on these songs. Go Gungor!

- Beautiful things

Beautiful things is my all time favorite song. I cry every time I hear it. It brings me back to Luke 18 every time. This song helped me to become strong and secure in my mind, body and faith. Luke 18 is a faith enriching retreat I went on that changed me. I strongly recommend this album, and the song beautiful things especially.

- Doctrine or sin?

He has an agenda that says doctrine divides us and apart from Jesus it does not matter what you believe about anything. Sounds great but lacks reality. Doctrine is about what we believe about Jesus and salvation. Gunfire does not think that what you believe about heaven and hell matters. Does it? Does it matter what you believe about who God says that he is? Maybe Gungor should take a closer look at sin. It's true that doctrine can vary from church to church, but is that the real root of division or is it sin. 1 Corinthians 1 KJV 10Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

Ok first off since your profile name is the same as your comment I think it would be fair to conclude this was your first comment, which leads me to two options #1. Your an "troll" who made that comment just to try an make Christians sound ignorant. Or #2. You are a Christian and you are one of the ones who give a bad name to the rest of us, I mean have you even listened to any of the songs and looked at the cover besides just the skulls, it is symbolizing how, as put quite well by one of the songs "god makes beautiful things from the dust" anyways, love the album.

I really really enjoy this album! There are certain songs I enjoy more than others, but I bet you could find that with just about every person who listens to any album. These songs are great for Worship and other events similar, and these songs are most certainly children friendly. I personally would recommend playing these songs for background music for youth groups, and other conversational church activities.

- Disappointing lyrics, amazing sound

I stumbled on this CD on itunes and fell in love with the sound right away. On the first listen after purchasing it was apparent that I had major issues with the lyrics. Lyrics can be ambiguos, but after a second listen it was clear that this group's lyrics are not grounded in Biblical truth. I was a little shocked and checked out the band (or the singer's) blog and found more of the same type of twisting and dodging around biblical truth while pushing his own beliefs that are clearly not grounded in or backed by the Bible. Disappointing. I won't be listening to this album and will do my homework before making purchases in the future.

- "Vulnerably beautiful"

This album is the essence of what Christian music should be. Not run-of-the-mill chord progressions with lyrics that have been said thousands of times and have now become callous to our hearts. This music tugs at your heart and opens up an opportunity to talk to God, talk about whatever it is you need. In fact the music itself, without the lyrics, is so beautiful that when I listen to it I can feel the beauty of God. Thank you Gungor.

I absolutely LOVE this album. You see, I usually listen to hard rock, such as avenged sevenfold, we came as romans, asking Alexandria, etc., but Gungor makes me feel so close to God it's just simply unbelievable. This album is loaded with so many different instruments and Lisa and Michael have very haunting and mysterious voices. Can't get enough of it. This album and it's lyrics are simply excellent and brilliant. I hope to see you guys in concert this October. Thanks Gungor for reminding me that Jesus can make beautiful things out of nothing! ^^
