This is the only complete album I have purchased on itunes. Enough said.
Uhh, for what it is I guess its fine. The music is in such great juxtaposition with the band name I find it hard to enjoy. But nice beats and melodies for sure.
This band is the techno-funkadelic version of Pink Floyd.
I have no idea what this music is.
As a huge fan of their LP, I really liked their hyper/out of control sound. When I first listened to Latin I was a little disappointed. I continued listening for a week, then saw them live at the Magic Stick (Detroit) and this is now my favorite album from them. This album is well massaged and their polished sound is amazing.
It's rare to find a band that balances Sonic Experimentation with Good Song Writing, pleasant Art for the Ears. What else can I say that doesn't abstract too much from the experience of listening. There's alot of textured samples and synths pressed into traditional music arrangments orientated around the explicit use of bass, synthesizers and drums, no vocals. The arrangments themselves are diverse, from slow ambient build ups to gritty, excellent funky, grooves. If you're into music with progress, you'll love this.
The albums Pretty Good but it's hard to capture Holy Fs energy present in their live shows. Live they have such flow and speed and a larger acoustic range than the album. However the pulsating beats strong with huge build up make it a great workout album. I think the highlights are Latin America and stilettos. To those who wish their where words to describe it (I agree that they're really unique) pitchfork called them an "electronic Jam-band." The more I thought about it the more it makes sense.
I love the melodies and beats to this album. I bet the shows are amazing. I wish music like this was appreciated more, very underrated group.
