I hunted all over the internet to find this music after having watched TYOLD today. Here's a movie that ages well. Typical of so many film sound tracks, the music on the CD doesn't match up with the music in the film. A wonderful mixture of orchestral and vocal highlighted by Kiri Tekanawa's mellifluous sounds, the album is a must have addition to any classical lover's iPod.
Sublime singing, but the engineers left no space between the songs, which takes away the serene, expansive beauty that the "Four Last Songs" are supposed to have. Or did iTunes just mess up in posting the digital files? In any case, would have gotten more stars had the presentation matched the music making.
