The first time I heard this young girl, I knew she had something special. Be that as it may, I knew she needed to work with a new vocal coach because her low register was so shakey. Folks, clearly she has done this! Her range is incredible and I'm sure her best years are ahead of her as she grows into the voice that she will show for decades. I just hope that she doesn't go the way of Charlotte Church...still not sure what she was trying to prove there. Singers like Renee Fleming and Placido Domingo never feel the need to be what they're not; and they are some of the best singers in the world! This doesn't mean they don't stretch themselves into other genres; they simply don't try to become pop stars. Mind you, I like Jackie's voice MUCH better than I ever liked Charlotte's. All that to say, this album is lovely and a joy to listen to!

Ladies and gentlemen, and 11-year-old should not sound like this. Take it from me, a doctorate student in vocal performance, this is no more than an unnatural manipulation of the vocal mechanism and it is going to plague her when her voice changes in three years! Everything she is doing now to sound mature will no longer work! Please don’t let your children do this! You wonder why you suddenly quit hearing about these kids?🤨 ALSO... the “r” in “caro” is not voiced; just flip it.

When I was 10-years old, and someone told me I would have two platinum albums and one gold, two PBS Great Performances specials, sing duets with Barbara Streisand, Tony Bennet and Sarah Brightman, would sing for the President and the Emperor of Japan, play next to Robert Redford in a movie, tour the world, sing on Today, the Tonight Show, etc., AND be a multimillionaire while still in elementary school... BUT, the stardom might blow away like a feather on the wind, I'd say.... "What was that you said about multimillionaire?" :D Seriously, though, she's in good hands. She gets a clean bill of health from a leading "voice doctor," who concluded that she is not harming her voice. She also has vocal training and is not allowed to sing songs that push her beyond her natural ability. Her parents are aware (as is she) of the "diva" thing, and they all seem to have a good sense of when to say no, and just let her be a child for a while. She's being allowed to follow a dream, and she and her parents are aware of the fleeting-fame phenomenon, but they hope to avoid it by studying the mistakes and sad stories of previous child stars. Let the girl have her moment in the sun. This business about making her wait until she's old is nonsense, because everyone knows that you can't choose your moment. Let's just admit that a big part of her popularity right now is that she has a beautifully rich voice that belies her youth. Who honestly thinks she should pass up the chance to wow the world, in favor of waiting for the extremely slim chance that she could achieve any success at all when she's over 18? Jackie who? Do it now, I say. All you can do is hope that, if she fades from the limelight, that she's emotionally prepped for it, and has not lost her talent and ability to still sing professionally. So much for my review of the reviewers. My main criticism of the album is not of her, but of her handlers for not having her pull back on the vibrato a notch or two (Actually, she is getting better at it - much better). On this album, her vibrato is mostly very well executed, especially when she's belting it out, but it's inconsistent. I would have preferred a few re-takes, or leaving certain notes pure if she can't produce a smooth vibrato. One saving grace is that it's only occasional. She also has a nice tendency to finish strong. My least favorite song, but the most beautifully sung by her, is The Lord's Prayer. I would consider that as close to flawless as she gets. Her weakest vibrato is done in Angel, which is a shame, as the song doesn't really lend itself to the bel-canto style in the first place. But really, aside from the occasional choppy vibrato, they're all sung beautifully, even the sappy songs like To Believe, and A Mother's Prayer. Obviously, there's the wow factor; she's adorable, extremely polite, works hard, has professional instincts and stage manners (but doesn't hide her age), has pitch-perfect tonality, and her phrasing comes from her - she's not parroting that. What other girl her age could pull off the low-part harmony with Barbara Streisand? Anyone who has seen her give interviews, read about her parent's philosophy and support of her young dream, and paid attention to her very evidently deep involvement in her singing, will find themselves cutting her a lot of slack. The bottom line is that this album is filled with beautiful music, with only a couple of forgivable flaws.

I'm astounded at all the negative reviews of this girls' voice and gift of song. That is what it is - a gift. For her, for you, for me, for the world. All of the people who posted comments about her being exploited and ruining her vocal chords and taking shortcuts to stardom are just ridiculous. Many experts over the last few years have agreed she has a natural talent and she has only gotten better over the last couple years - which makes these comments from the jealous haters seem irrelevant. So I humbly say, go Jackie - go! You keep sharing that amazing gift...keep practicing, and I look forward to seeing and hearing all the great things you will do. I'm very picky about whose music I buy. And this album I bought without hesitation. It's one of the best I own.

Jackie Evancho, in 2012, is likely the best child singer in the world; has fulfilled the dream of creating a classical opera masterpiece. David Foster has included artists who have added to the popularity of this work. BTW!!! (Best in The World!!!) If you enjoy young talent, Hollie Steel (various genres-soft vocals, creative inflections), Bianca Ryan (pop-powerful lungs/thoracic diaphragm), and Rhema Marvanne (religious-voice clarity) are highly recommended, and available on itunes. Up and coming are Sabrina Carpenter (pop-soft vocals-available on itunes) and Nita Blanc (Holland-Netherlands, pop-powerful vocals/explosions, not yet available on itunes).

Jackie Evanchos' voice is extremely beautiful. Our Choir Teacher made us hear her sing Nella Fantasia. We will be singing Nella Fantasia for our End-of-the-Year Concert. 🎤 I honestly couldn't believe she was 8... No one couldn't believe it... She sounded like she was 40 or something. It sounded very said but extremely good. 😊💗👌

Jackie's voice has matured and deepened with age, and she is a more mature singer as well, but this group of recordings caught her in a moment of innocence, absence of affect, and purity of tone and expression that makes these authoritative renderings, something for all singers to aspire to. Ombra Mai Fu cannot ever have been this beautiful before this recording. Nessun Dorma, O Mio Babbino Caro, these timeworn solo pieces received new life through Jackie Evancho's voice. I listen to these whenever I need to regain peace in a hectic world.

I wouldn t purchase this CD. If you do your promoting child cruelty. This poor child has so much pressure put on her, she is ready to crack. Its bad enough both parents quit their jobs and have forced this young child to succeed and be the breadwinner of the family. She also has the pressure of attending high school and getting good grades. She has said in many interviews that she is bullied at school but her parents still force her to attend school instead of using online schooling. This child could be the next Miley Cyrus or worse. This is a very sad situation, the parents should be reported for being so abussive. So if you purchase any of her CD s you are helping in the demise of this poor child.

I said outstanding when I bought her album, and now I've seen her live. She is one of the most talented artists I've listened too. Its great to hear some ACTUAL talent out now, instead of the auto tune garbage that fills up the pop world. An angelic voice, and true love for her art bring these songs alive in an incredible way. At the time she made this recording and just before there was... the audience's reaction… gasps... at the recognition of something; and there, on stage, was this most beautiful little girl with a kind of divine purity of Being and her voice and its unique spiritual enunciation of the Love behind a song… and yes, the clarity of each note. I will tell you my reaction… a full grown man's reaction… her voice and her person made me ashamed that I had forgotten God's gift of life in the trite shallowness of our culture's daily flood. I am not a religious person… but like us all… I know the "sound of the angels" in art. What can one say or write about the Truth when we see and hear it? Her voice is the human soul's infinite longing… God bless you dear. To this I must add… I have been around a few opera singers… and the snarky jealous comments here, by opera singers are regretfully too typical… .

How can someone so young (age 10) have such mastery of music and deliver it with such ease? The answer might be that most singers have to learn to sing, Jackie is music! Jackie's live performance recording of this music is as perfect as the studio recorded CD, but still that perfection is overshadowed by the angelic nature of her voice and presence. This is the part that touches peoples' hearts.

- One of the worst albums of all time

The mind numbing blandness of this recording is incredible. She sings one note, over and over. The tracks are so similar that you have no idea what you are listening to. And the "Nesun Dorma" almost defies description - it sets a new standard for terrible renditions. And why would an artist of Ms Streisand's ability allow herself to be involved on this recording.

Jackie Evancho definitely has talent on par with adult singers, with a personality that anyone can feel good about listening to. Honestly, before Jackie Evancho, I was reluctant to go into any depth in pursuing an interest in this sort of music (opera? I dunno) because of the aura of elitism that surrounds it. This album is a good first step for me. My favourite tracks are 'All I Ask of You' and 'Lovers'. Most of the album is good but very unsurprising with few 'Wow' moments. A large part of Evancho's appeal is her charming image and endearing arm gestures, which of course are lost in an audio album.

What an amazing voice, what an amazing little girl. This album is absolutely fantastic. I saw Jackie perform on America's got talent, and I was blown away. To hear that beautiful voice pour out of that beautiful little girl made me cry instantly. She sounds like an angel, a voice fresh from heaven. What a gift! In a world so full of hurt, anger, and sadness, she is a reminder that some things are beautiful, pure, and innocent. The songs on this album take my breath away every time I play them. A truly inspiring piece of work.

I really like this album, but then I like opera. If you don't like Opera you will be disapointed. Just remember the girl started by singing opra and she'll probably never sing "current songs" her voice isn't made for it . Frankly, I think she'd kill any Bieber, Perry, or Gomez song she tried to sing because her voice is too big for them, she's too good. The version of "Angel" by Sarah McLauchlan is nearly better than the original. However, I do find that Jackie doesn't enunciate and tends to run words together. I'm guessing that's age and not understanding the meaning and emotion in lyrics. Training and time will make this girl incredible! (Provided she doesn't blow her voice before puberty). I also don't think she's lipsinging I think it's her, you can hear it in her voice when she's talking on the "To believe" track writen by her father. Anyways, to make a long story short I think this is an amazing album and I recomend it to people who like, love or tolerate Opera. If your not a fan of Opera just get track 3, 5, 13 and 14. In my opinion track 5 is the best one.

especially my oldest daughter who goes around the house singing everything Jackie sings. Now, you know it's a true measure of greatness when the Britney-Bieber crowd start saying Jackie can't carry a tune or is not interesting. I am glad of their disdain because it is a sign that singers are getting back to real music and leaving the world of cookie-cutter-pop-tarts far behind. FYI, I have total respect for Bieber and I pray that Jackie doesn't turn into another Charlotte Church. God bless you, Jackie.

I know some people my age (teens) wouldn't like this, but I think it's WAY better than most of the popular songs out there. She has TRUE talent and isn't just singing a song because people think she's pretty (which she also happens to be). Disappointed. She sings for a limited market- and not her age. It's cute and amazing right now because she's still a kid. But when she's an adult and she will go head to head with the real trained, extremely talented classical sopranos and altos, she will be no match. She has to get better. And no i don't agree that she's more talented than Justin bieber. Check out old videos of bieber- he can sing amazingly, and is truly musically inclined.

She's not in the same class as Katherine Jenkins-and not just because little Miss Evancho should still be in school...Bound to happen to her though-once Simon Cowell recognised the need for public to have another child 'star' to marvel over...Basically a Charlotte Church replacement, however not home-grown this time though, so re-packaged from 'Americas Got Talent' to sell to the Great British Public-This time, some of us wont be buying. Sorry Mr.Cowell.
