The music they play on the radio and on their album is fantastic. When I went to go see them in concert though. Talk about head banging mosh pit crowd. If you don't like the head banging metal music then I suggest you buy the album and skip out on the concert.

It wasn't a sophomore slump?!

Give it time, its a bit of a culture shock from the first album, but after weeks of ownership and the 5 stages of grief this has become one of my favorites this year. Amazing.

I just saw Awolnation in concert and I have been a huge fan but I hate how the songs rated the most are the ones that play on the radio and popular vines. Other than that I love it and no one can go wrong with Awolnation.

Some of the songs are REALLY good on this album but at the same time there are lots of songs that i constantly skip over. Some of my personal favorites are Like People, Like Plastic, Hollow Moon, and Windows. They did a pretty good gob but it doesn’t really compare to their first album.

Woman woman is awesome. That pre echo is definitely a nod to The Wall.

This album is one of the best albums I’ve ever heard musically. The structure of each song is a unique blend of electronic material and Aaron’s harsh to soft falsettos. In my opinion the tempo of this album is SO underrated. Just bc it wasn’t as fast as the first doesn’t mean it’s bad. It’s calm it’s smooth and it works. I’ve listened to the album 500+ times

Can't stop looping...

Awolnation did it again with its beautifully crafted music. Just like Megalithic Symphony, there isn't a single bad song. With the new tone being greatly different, this purchase is worth every penny.

I never was into awolnation until I heard hollow moon and just got hooked. That's not even the best part of the album, it's really nice seeing this band switch from a screamy type rock music to this nice slower style.

This album is really great. It sounds very similar to the first one so it's a good pick if you also liked their first album, but it's always a good choice to listen to the songs online first

To be honest I wasn't that much a fan of the first album but this it's so amazing. The first time listening to jail break gave me a music high so perfect, musically it was amazing it is great if you like to expierence music "in this case art". I probably listened to hollow moon over 100 times I love it. All and all this is my new favorite band.

Every time I listen to them it makes me wanna crack open a beer. What a great band seriously.

Ugh I've listened to the entire album like 1,000 times in the last month and I still can't get over how amazing it is! Thank you Aaron, you're an under appreciated musical genius.

I love every song on this album. If you start with Run and listen to the album all the way through, Aaron is telling his story of what happened in his music career. He is raw and honest about it, from all the bad press to hitting it big. If you took the time to read any of the articles out there about Aaron, you will see a connection with each song. Like People, Like Plastic talks about the fake people in the music industry. I Am, talks about how all his experiences makes him who he is. It is a great album that not only tells of his story, but everyone can find a little of themselves in every song. This is one of my top five favorite albums. Almost every song on this album is a hit for me.

The only reason why the review is over 4 star average is because people didn't change it after they heard the whole album. This isn't the AWOL I was introduced to that played Soul Wars

The diversity of the sound on this album is so unique and easy to fall in love with. From upbeat songs like Like People, Like Plastic to more slow songs like Headrest For My Soul, this album is addictive through and through. If you like cool upbeat songs or alt/rock genre I HIGHLY recommend this album! Plus Aaron Bruno isnt bad to look at ;^)

Big mistake. I loved the previous album so much, I though getting this was a no brainer. No need to preview, cause how could it be anything but great. I was wrong. It is really underwhelming. I don't know what happened but this album is most definitely not something you should buy.

Heard one song on radio and I loved it (Run), so it got me sampling the album. Ok, so I found literally a couple more I liked and bought. The rest??? Uhhhmmmmm, a big, boring, sleep inducing, let down. None of the wacky / choppy/ feel good/pop style they usually have had in past. Or even on the few songs from this album. I do not recommend buying the whole album. Definitely sample it first. That's what I did. But, I've seen bands in past have what I call a filler album, so maybe this is the case. Hopefully they'll get back on track next time.

Hollow Moon & Windows are killer. Windows is a COMPLETELY new sound which I REALLY appreciate. Much of the rest of the album is unremarkable.

Alright so I'm not like the biggest fan, so now that that's out the way... The only 2 songs I really Iike are Run and I am. The rest are okay... I just don't know how to feel about the tone. Like Run is so different to me than the rest of the songs on this album. Idk. I guess I was expecting more songs like it. The rest seem upbeat, but in a sad way. I automatically vibed with run but I'm very glad I didn't download the whole album just because I would've regretted it. Overall not a bad album, it's just not all for me. Perhaps you might dig it though.

awolnation' new material has been way overdue, but now that it is finally here i am pleased. only four stars because some parts of a song or two throw me off. still love!

They’ve made better albums but there’s a couple I’m obsessed with.

I like most was obsessed with the first album and once I heard Run was coming out I was very excited. Although when I first listened to it I hated it. I kept on comparing it to the previous album and found it boring. After a couple of months I saw that they were touring with fall out boy so i got tickets and decided to give it another try and fell in love. All the songs have so much emotion packed in to them and some may be slow but they hit right in the honey nut feelios. I just feel like everyones saying how much it's different from the first album, so what? the style changed but it's still as amazing Just give it another try and hopfully you will love as much as i do.

I am so in love with this entire album! I love to see how much variety Awolnation has, from alternative to rock to slow and emotional to dance music, this band can absolutely nail each and every one. Well done!! 👏🏼👏🏼 I am now off to listen to this on repeat. 😌🎧

A vast improvement to the last album! Megalithic was amazing but this album has a more mature feel to it. The music is more evolved and progressive yet a lot of songs still hold to the pop sound that got them their fame. I gotta say my top three on the album are 1) Hollow Moon 2) Woman Woman 3) Like People, Like Plastic At the very least purchase these 3 songs but honestly just go ahead and buy the whole album and listen to it from beginning to end. It's an amazing musical voyage through Aaron's complex mind

Among the soft, lullabyish songs, are a few good ones that stand alone, such as I Am, Hollow Moon, and Run - but the masterpiece of the album is Windows - probably one of the top 5 best songs ever made by them. Holly Roller is and Lie Love Lie Love are pretty good too.

It's not all about SAIL. Aaron and company have produced an album that was even more raw and emotional than their first. I see this album as an attempt to achieve greater musical depth, and mission accomplished. If you are listening to the first five seconds of a song, it may seem flat; just wait, it gets a hell of a lot better. Not all of these songs are explosive. Some of them are pretty tender and reflective. The AWOL we know and love is still there. Hollow Moon has been my song of summer, along with Headrest for My Soul.

A total slam dunk after their first album. This seems to be more cohesive and it’s obvious the band has a theme and direction with this project. It’s excellent, I love the story, I love the feelings every song gives me. It’s angry, powerful, emotional... just straight up amazing. Top 3 favorite songs off this album are “Kookseverywhere,” “Hollow Moon,” and “Like People, Like Plastic.” Honestly, I love every song and I can listen The the entire album without skipping or pausing and I’ve done it at least a dozen times.

This is by far the best lineup of songs for an album to date.

They are a treasure to my ears. I have not found a really great artist that I appreciate every song from in an incredibly long time. There is some serious talent here.

I really liked the first album, so I figured this one would be just as good. Boy was I wrong. I feel like this whole album was just thrown together, maybe because of some record deadlines? I tried listening to the whole thing a handful of times to see if the songs would grown on me, but they never did. I actually keep my apple TV remote on hand to fast forward whenever one of these songs plays when shuffling my whole library of music. Today I finally decided just to delet the whole album out of my library. I gave it almost two years to grow on me... This was the worst album I ever bought. I will never buy an album just becuse I think I like the artist again...

Honestly, I love this lower key, toned down version. I'm not really big on the rock type but his voice is great n he's matching tunes that he thinks sound good to it. These artists are constantly changing our world. I think people should be more supportive than giving one star n calling this terrible. He's changing his music because that's what he wants to do. That's what he likes at the moment n he wants to show us. Maybe even get us into it too. I like this album. It's amazing.

Awhh are some of the butthurt reviewers sad because none of these songs sound like Sail? Get over it. Sail was out almost 2 years before it got recognition. This album is pure awesomeness. Nearly every song here is my favorite! If you're waiting for something else, then you're waiting, taking up space. Just saying. Maybe think a little deeper than the surface of the songs to enjoy them. Good Job Aaron, this album is perfect.

I wasn't the biggest fan of their first album and as hesitant to give this one a a try. But I love the new style they put into each song. The only problem is that there isn't clean versions available of their explicit songs.

This is probably the best album I have heard this year. There are so many songs that I love I can't choose which is my favorite. Long live AWOL❤️

Drinking lighting is probably my favorite. It starts off slow, but you have go listen to the whole song. Most these songs start out slow but pick up into a new amazing beat about halfway through. It's one of those albums where you don't think too much at first then you really start to listen to the songs an they just flow. Probably one of my favorite albums right now.

I can understand how people could dislike this album. Definitely different compared to Megalithic Symphony, but it still surprises and offers much. An artist creates songs to connect to listeners and pass their thoughts and feelings on. It is an emotional bond formed between the artist(s). Most people who dislike this album compare it to their first album Megalithic Symphony. These people aren't taking the album by itself for what it's worth. They have to compare it to previous works because they're considered their magnum opus. This album is amazing, I like all the songs equally i don't have a least favorite song(because all are beautiful). So many people dislike this album, because he has gotten so popular with the radio listeners. If you genuinely like the sound of awolnation, and not just the catchiness of them, you'll love this album. It's written we'll, it's produced so good, and its one that really grows on you, if your looking for a good album to get into, this is the one to buy!

I have been a big fan of A/N since I first heard them back in 2011, and their music has always been a consistent piece in my favorite playlists. When I heard A/N was going to release a new album after their complete emptiness for a few years was amazing. When "Hollow Moon Bad Wolf" was uploaded to YouTube my excitement level just kept skyrocketing. I got this album as soon as it was out and I'm actually really impressed. I was afraid my hype would ruin it do to high expectations, but A/N totally met the bar this time. I loved "Megalithic Symphony" for it's innovation, and for the same reason I am loving this album. Every song feels like it was composed by a different group completely. A lot of people are upset because it's not "Megalithic Symphony", but I'm sorry to say that the reason you loved MS has already been done. It's genre mashing is huge now, thus it would no longer stand out from all of the other popular albums of today if it was like MS. I'm sure Aaron knew this, and that's why he did something different. I know a lot of people don't like different, but I personally think that A/N is best at doing things different every time. Don't complain that this is repetitious, because 1. It's not, and 2. If you think this was repetitious but at the same time you wanted MS again, isn't that a little contradictory? I think so at least. Innovation and change is important. Moving forward is better than moving backward or standing still. A/N made a good decision in making changes to their style. Also if you're not happy then remember that the next album will be totally different from the others again, so just look forward to that. I personally love this album for it's innovation in composure and sound. It's like crack for the ears... which I'm sure is a real thing too. I give it 11/10. Good job Aaron Bruno!

One of the few bands who has tons of good songs, not few. This album is no exception. AWOLNATION will be timeless.

This album is probably my number one album so far this year all around. It's just fun, smart, unique and talented. Love it.
