Having only heard “Sail” from their last album, I am still very impressed. Granted, it did seem very mellow in a few parts but the album was very catchy to sing along with. I also find myself head bobbing to it quite often. If this is their more “progressive” sound, I enjoy it a lot and look forward to what they put out next. If you’re going to hop on this band wagon, get on it now before it leaves you behind! Run! Seriously, do not be a fair weather fan. Embrace a little change.

why are people disappointed? it's different sounding and individualistic. I like :)

The rock edge is still there from before but there are more glorious pop hooks and fantastic melodies which is what attracts me to this band.

This album is a perfect blend of energetic and soothing. Some songs are more energetic than others, but they're all 100% Awolnation.

Not good. People, stop writing "reviews" about how excited you are for an album. Giving an album 5 stars before you've listened to it defeats the purpose of a rating system. Listen first, then rate!

people were upset because it didnt sound like the other album, the guy is creative and put out something that sounds different. At first i thought it was just ok. but after i heard it a handfull of times it seemed to get better, and better. Now im blasting it like i did the other one, its awesome he took a slightly differnt angle on this one. Its a great album, buy and be patient.

Ok so I am like the biggest fan of Awolnation and have been wanting more ever since Megalithic Symphony, but this was kind of a let down. I still love the band to death but this album could have been better. Awolnation please read this and put the same amount of passion from Megalithic Symphony into your next album!!!

This album is good for 2.5 songs. Hollow Moon is a pretty good song. Woman Woman is ok. Every other song is an unstructured jumble of crap. The most frustrating song is Run. The first 2 minutes are awesome, then it's as if a 13 year old took over from there and kept creating trash. If you want a good idea of how bad this album can be, listen to the last minute and a half of Run.

I did honestly like most of the songs, though it could be that I’m too loyal. For most, listen to the songs on youtube then chose which ones you really like. It feels like this could be a good album but I think they rushed it on most of the songs

Different from megalithic symphony, but I still love it.

I preordered this I was so excited for it but it turns out I spent 8 buck for 3 songs, it never gave me the album when it came out... Good songs though, 5 stars for that!

Definitely different from the last album, doesn't hit nearly as hard as "Monuments" did but that's not a bad thing at all. I like how much more chill "Run" is. It's really awesome to listen too when I'm driving to work in the morning. So yeah, good stuff! I love you AWOLNATION!

The problem with popularity is it brings in a bunch a fans who want EVERY song to sound the same. All the people giving it one star just want to hear Sail over and over and over. This album Is incredible! Love it! Keep up the good work and don't worry about all the people that want every single song to be a radio single.

AWOLNATION KILLED IT !!

Simply amazing. Realize that these songs are different. They sound a little weird and differ from Awol's previous music. With that in mind, take the time to get accustomed to the new style. It is then that you will be able to appreciate the MUSIC GENIUS that comes from this album. Sure Run is good, and Hollow Moon is popular. But almost every song is great in its own way. Just GIVE IT A CHANCE. Lie Love Live Love is a hidden gem and may just be my favorite on the album. 10/10 would recommend, and is the only thing I've been listening to for weeks.

This album is absolutely amazing. There was so much passion put into this album. Everyone who dislikes this album aren't true fans.

Probably one of the best albums I have ever listened to! Every song on it is beautiful and unique. Aaron Bruno definitely put his heart and soul into it. It is a masterpiece!

I want to start off by saying I bought the physical copy of this album the other day, downloaded it onto my ipod. And can't get enough. This album isn't better than Megalithic Symphony, but I really enjoyed the different sound. I've loved everything Aaron's done musically. Hopefully I will be able to catch them in Kansas in July. I highly recomend Run. Great record.

I have been a big fan of A/N since I first heard them back in 2011, and their music has always been a consistent piece in my favorite playlists. When I heard A/N was going to release a new album after their complete emptiness for a few years was amazing. When "Hollow Moon Bad Wolf" was uploaded to YouTube my excitement level just kept skyrocketing. I got this album as soon as it was out and I'm actually really impressed. I was afraid my hype would ruin it do to high expectations, but A/N totally met the bar this time. I loved "Megalithic Symphony" for it's innovation, and for the same reason I am loving this album. Every song feels like it was composed by a different group completely. A lot of people are upset because it's not "Megalithic Symphony", but I'm sorry to say that the reason you loved MS has already been done. It's genre mashing is huge now, thus it would no longer stand out from all of the other popular albums of today if it was like MS. I'm sure Aaron knew this, and that's why he did something different. I know a lot of people don't like different, but I personally think that A/N is best at doing things different every time. Don't complain that this is repetitious, because 1. It's not, and 2. If you think this was repetitious but at the same time you wanted MS again, isn't that a little contradictory? I think so at least. Innovation and change is important. Moving forward is better than moving backward or standing still. A/N made a good decision in making changes to their style. Also if you're not happy then remember that the next album will be totally different from the others again, so just look forward to that. I personally love this album for it's innovation in composure and sound. It's like crack for the ears... which I'm sure is a real thing too. I give it 11/10. Good job Aaron Bruno!

None of these songs sound good. I think the only reason you're famous is because of Sail. One of my favorite songs, but deep down that's the best thing you'll ever make.

This album is a very good album. I felt the more I listened to it the more I liked the music. I think AWOLNATION is a great band and this album met my expectations when I first listened to it. This album peaked at number 4 on the billboard rock and alternative charts! Megalithic Symphony peaked at 17. Just a little fact there for all the people that liked their first album better. Can't wait to see them live!

I don't know why all these people are hating this album. I have loved Awolnation forever and I still love them. This album was brilliant and it makes me want more.

They've done it again

You people that are hating on this album need to stop you just hate it because isn't the last album. When you should give them props for trying something different so I'm giving them 5 stars for trying something new.

My, my. Some people around the reviews section are giving very uninformative reviews. Simply saying "I didn't like it" is not good enough in order to give someone an informed decision. This is not Megalithic Symphony. When I listened to their music, I enjoyed it because it was new, and refreshing. Their music took different paths than regular popular music like rock, alt, etc., and I found that admirable. This was no different. It has a different tone than any of their other albums. And it sounds great. If you become disappointed just because it was new and different, which is the reason you began to listen to them, then you aren't listening to the music, your listening to yourself. I'd recommend it.

Really wanted this to be great.... Like most of the other fans, I'm rabid and passionate about the first album (and the recent singles, movie soundtrack songs,etc). That said, some tracks on this second full length album, hit the mark. Notably, tracks 1,3,5 (duh) then it's a bit more spread out for me.....(digging KOOKSEVERYWHERE!! Though for sure). Some tracks, (while personal and intimate for Bruno, for certain) lack energy and are slower......but hey, different strokes, etc.....

The only reason this album has 4 1/2 stars on iTunes is because iTunes annoyingly allows people to rate the album based on only the single. Look at the most recent reviews and you’ll see what people really think about the album. After listening to this album several times, I resigned to the fact that it will never come close to their first album. At some times, it’s boring. Other times, it just sounds unpleasant. But when I feel down about how disappointing this is, I just listen to Megalithic Symphony and I feel better.

at first, i was so upset with this album. but i bought it anyway and listened to all the songs. this album displays the true identity of awolnation and is absolutely amazing. give it a shot

My favorite album so far!

"Here's the pitch.......and Bruno hits it out of the park" Awolnation returns with a vengeance. Seemingly darker and much more focused than megalithic symphony this album delivers on every level. It is definitely a "music lovers album" in that it follows a general theme and takes the listener on a journey into the mind of the artist.

I was a huge fan of the first album. This seems so rushed and lyrically horible. Skip this one. Its terrible.

I feel like the single I have heard on the radio was really formulaic but bad. I was reading the reviews and I think I'm not gonna go for it. Blame it on my ADD. Yep.

I enjoyed the album. I like how AWOLNATION’S albums all tell a story. This one accomplishes that. But the music itself is all the same. And I can live with that, because I like the music, but get the first album instead. It’s better than this, and the only REAL reason you’d want to buy this is if you were a fan. So far this album is the best, Aaron Bruno is the best!!

I love AWOLNATION. I saw them live at a music festival last summer and they are some of the funnest performers. Naturally I was thrilled for this new album. Hollow Moon, Run, and Windows were all released before the rest of the album and those three songs rocked! That's why I was so disappointed when the rest of the album came out. Windows and Hollow Moon are the most exciting songs on the album. It's like when a movie preview includes all of the funny or scary parts in a movie, and then you watch it and realize you've already seen the only good parts of the movie... That's how I feel about this album. There are a few good songs, but some of the songs are just boring. I never thought I'd say that about AWOLNATION.

An unremarkable release from a band that is capable of so much more. A severe and jarring let down compared to their previous album which was nothing short of a masterpiece. This was a missed opportunity for AWOLnation to go to that next level rather than suffering from the sophomoric slump. A truly uninspiring and lacklustre offering.

I was uncertain about AWOLNATION at first, but I gave them a chance. I liked Megalithic Symphony alright, but I wouldn't consider it one of my favorites. However, they really stepped up their game on this album. I love every single song, especially Headrest for my Soul and Windows. But the entire album astounds me. I am a huge fan of bands such as twenty one pilots and Imagine Dragons, and AWOLNATION has created their own unique style that fits right in with bands like these. They have this great ability to play very soft and very heavy music, and anything in between. I'm so glad I bought this album, it's one of my current favorites.

I was expecting so much more and this album in downright terrible. I can only tolerate (at best) 2 songs, windows and kooks everywhere!

This album has an spectacular tone! It is a little more laid-back, but there is still that rock aspect we all love. Awol, thank you for releasing this masterpiece of music.
