Don't understand all the critique... The genre has changed, it's no longer the light metal rock they do, don't set your expectations that it will be. Mike Shinoda even said he's not a monkey and he will not do things just because we demand it. Creativity belongs to the brains that can, and it will continue to evolve, nothing stays the same. It's just very different, it's not bad. Embrace differences and open your vision.
Love the old style Linkin Park however am able to appreciate most styles of music, the more I listen to this new album the more I enjoy it.
This song is so amazing!! I totally recommend it!!!❤💗
What's happened to Linkin Park?!? This is the most disappointing album they've ever done. Just toooooo different.
Nooo Aliens have taken the over, the world is upside down and Linkin Park's attempt at pop? has fizzed. Your loosing me guys. After listening to this album i feel like Bill Cosby has just touched me. I want POWER, ANGST and RAGE.... not prissy girlie feelings and soft melodies. leave that to Adam Levine.
Sometimes different styles is good! You can not listen rock 24/7 in ur life, are u? Sometimes need soul music That lyrics said from Chester bottom of his heart, so much things more than carry, he can not handle it anymore! His voice can not screaming all the time, sometimes need peaceful voice to express his feeling It is good album! I love < good goodbye > < heavy >< talking to myself >

I know Chester wants us to move the F*** on with Hybrid Theory and Meteora and I'm fine with that. But give us something to follow then, because this album ain't delivering anything else than lame repetive 2014 pop sounds. Lots of songs seems to have been based upon the same tempo and electronic sounds. I just can't find the depth in any lyrics and every chorus sounds the same, finding a way to repeat the title of the actual song everytime. I'm sorry Chester, it seems I will have to stab myself in the face like you asked, cause this is not what I was expecting as a fan, EVEN IF I'M WILLING TO MOVE ON. How about you respect your fans now...
Gross. You sell out when you are already millionaires?! I dont get it
So done with Linkin Park 👎👎👎
Really Esaur
I liked the singles Heavy, Battle Symphony, and Good Goodbye, The rest of it wasn't the best. Just not heavy enough, which I think is what the issue was for most fans. I think the collaborative songs like Heavy featuring Kiiara, and Good Goodbye with Pusha T and Stormzy were a great idea. I liked how they added those artists in; it gave it a new voice and effect that we just couldn't get with LP alone. The rest of the album just wasn't heavy enough, I miss what they did with Minutes To Midnight. Finally, Mike's vocals weren't included enough. In my opinion, it would've been so much better if we had at least one part with Mike's vocals per song. I enjoyed the album, but it could've been so much better.
This is just a bunch of pop garbage.... linkinpark where are you...
Linkin park's first CD was the first cd I ever purchased. Now, I'm 28 years old and was hoping that I would immerse myself one more time in that nostalgic, innovative sound that drew me in so many years back. I can't believe how forgettable and unimaginable each song is on this album. It's like a mash up of everything we've already heard mixed with ocean-drying intensity. This is my first review ever on iTunes, let that mean something.
I loved Linkin Park since Hybrid Theory. I was fortunate enough to experience a few live concerts & wish I could also go to at least one concert this year. Of course you can't compare this album to Hybrid Theory or any other album. Luckily LP's music progressed over the years. Would be sad if not. You can tell they found happiness in life, are not as angry as they used to be & care about their loved ones. I grew up with their music. I am happy to see or hear who they are as artists today. If I am mad & want to listen to the appropriate music, I pick one of their first albums. Happens. Glad I own them all! I love every song of this new album, they are all different and ingenious as usual. Thank you for another brilliant album! I hope there are many more to come ❤️!!!
So sad!
I almost threw away when I listen the album for the first time! So disapointing that they lost their soul. They didn't kept their original sound and they just followed the pop trend that everybody does to only make money. This is not Linkin Park anymore and this not good music anymore.
Rip
Amazing lyrics with amazing vocals. Linkin park as finally come back with a good album. Although not there usual heavy rock, it's a nice pop/rock ballad album. If this was a new band people would be raving it's the hard core early linkin park fans that are dissing this album
Speechless...Wtf happened to these lads!!? Did they drink the Hillary and Obama Kool-aid ?
I'm all for bands redefining their style, and have been on board every time Linkin Park did that before. I'm not one of those people who hate everything except Hybrid Theory and Meteora, up until now, I've very much enjoyed all of their albums (A Thousand Suns is one of my favorites and that's usually one of other peoples least favorites it seems). But I am definitely not on board for this. I've heard the majority of it on the radio in the past couple years from different artists. The feeling that I get from listening to it is that they've been listening to what's been trending in pop for the past couple years and have just copied that. They've brought nothing new to the table at all, and abandoned any unique identity they had in the process. I didn't think that the term "sellout" could be applied to Linkin Park as they have been pretty mainstream for years, but it is genuinely hard for me to listen to this without that thought popping up. Even if that wasn't the reason they changed like this, they HAD to know that some people would perceive it that way. You don't go from Hunting Party to pure top 40 pop without some people having questions. Regardless of whether or not they sold out, none of that would matter if this was more than just a regurgitation of the vast majority of pop songs to come out in the past few years, but that's what this sounds like. You've heard it all before and will hear it again when the same songs come from a different artist in a few months. I truly hate saying these things about Linkin Park. I'm so used to defending them that it feels strange to not be able to for this one. Disappointed.
They should have stopped after the first two albums and reanimation...
The fact that the bio says lightyears away from rap rock is very accurate, being a long time listener and miss the old stuff. Not sure what this is.
Next single featuring Taylor swift.
this is awful from a band i used to listen to and respect.
I'm a long time fan. I've always loved the way linkin park as experimented with different sounds etc.
Waste of breath
This review is my personal feelings on this specific album and not the band. I love linkin park and always will. They are an extremely talented band. They did not sell out. People who think that are idiots. I understand they need to try different things and that's cool. Good on them for doing what makes them happy. The album is a full on pop album. So it's way different then their previous albums. I'm not a fan of pop music and i am only giving this album a chance because linkin park made it. Overall the album is so-so. I've been listening to it a bunch of times, while catchy, it has no real weight to it. The songs tunes are floaty and basic. Mikes rapping is amazing in Good Goodby, he really needs to do another album, and I do mostly like half way right. That song has great range. But the other are just so-so. They don't have much to them. I don't hate them just don't love them. I feel these songs will not have the same lasting appeal as their other albums do. Also the chipmunks singing parts are strange and kinda annoying. I personally feel overall this album is missing a bit of that linkin park bang I love. Very other album has the Linkin park bang. Even their lighter song from other albums. But who cares life will move on. THP imo is their best album. People may not agree but it's heavy and meaningful. It was a reflection on the state of the US during the economic crisis. At least that's what I get from it. Maybe I'm wrong I don't know. All I know is it's an amazing album and I don't feel embarrassed to play it. And to be honest I feel a little embarrassed to play OML around friends and family they say that they kinda sound like the boy bands my sister used to listen to. At least with THP people would say this is too loud or too heavy please turn it down. That I can take and then I just turn it up more!!! Lol I think having OML on random with all the other albums is okay.
hopefully next album is better....... time to wait a few more years hopefully the next one isn't as much of disappointment like this isn't what I expected but some songs are ok
Maybe it's not there best, but the songs have meaning and after Hearing about Chester and listing to the album it's worth buying out Respect for someone we will all miss regardless of if you like this album or not, you will be missed Chester RIP ❤️
How can this even exist under "Rock"? I even saw it come up under "Metal". RIDICULOUS!! Linkin Park's quest to alienate the fans that MADE them has evidently reached it's mountain peak. I can appreciate "experimenting", hell, Reanimate was a technical masterpiece! Even Korn's Path of Totality brought the heavy to our ears while tinkering with a fresh sound. But this? THIS? These guys are offically 12 year old girl fodder. Goodbye Linkin Park, hello Linkin Pop.
this is not a question of a new direction in musical style .....the question is,,is this good music?....answer......nope.. not in the slightest.....you cant call it LP if 90% of the band sits and does nothing ...ON THE WHOLE ALBUM!!! pure crap...cant even decribe in words how truly horrible this is...and im trying
Wish I could give no stars because that's exactly what LP deserves. Bums, facking bums!
Dear Linkin Park, please break up already. I can't stand Chester Bennington's voice nor the pop/rock sound you guys evolved too. Never been a fan of their music but damn this is one of the worst albums of 2017

Even though it's a little different than LP normal music I still love it and it's still amazing!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You helped so many people get through hard times.
A life long fan since Hybrid Theory I'll admit I can't stand Heavy... but the rest of the albums worth a listen. Unlike their past albums LP toke a different directions in their sound, and I'm probably 1 in a 100 that like the new album's direction. I feel like i've been invited into the guys inner most emotions and personal struggles. It's an uplifting album I can dance to. In a few years fans will come around to giving it a chance. The ban proves there not a 1 trick pony and can be diverse. After all I didn't like a thousand suns when it was first release now I sing to it in the car and love Messenger. People change- so does there interest and sound. Much love always from Canada :)
this album speak to us but nobody has catch it.... 🙁
This album is fantastic, too bad it took the passing of Chester for me to actually listen to it. But it's great, forget the sound change, the lyrics are actually pretty powerful and haunting considering what just occurred. Listen to it objectively then give your opinion.
je n'ai aucune idée de ce qui est arrivé à Linking Park, mais cet album ressemble plus à album populaire de hip hop qu'à un disque de Linkin Park. Éviter de perdre votre argent avec cet album!
Wow.....N'Sync meets Backstreet boys, had a baby with Taylor Swift named Chester. They have completely gone pop, don't waste your money on this one.
It's been a steady decline after minutes to midnight which in my opinion is linkin parks last good album . This , I mean really? I hope you've hit rock bottom because I don't know what's worse than this ....
Long time fan of LP and this is just too far off expectations. It's good to change it up but this is a detour in the wrong direction. Heavy is ok but the rest is just drastically disappointing. Back to the drawing board boys.
Such a great singer has passed rip Chester 😢
Their first single "Heavy" is the worst song on the album which is saying something. Love the changes they've made. Album is different in the best way possible.
Rest in peace
can we all just get pass the fact that LP is not going alt/heavy rock anymore? never thought that LP can pull off pop, but i manage to enjoy the songs by forgetting that LP is singing them (cos it's still so weird). the songs are great, really.
Definitely not what linkin park should be. This will be their only album I don't buy.
Drastically different than past albums but good to see them grow as a band. I like it.
This is not the LP of old. Too pop for me
Truly i love Lp. Specially the line they sang, its so sweet in word, wash me away.
What the hell is this? Easily their worst album
My all time favorite band has failed me..
Seriously? No!!! Please!!! :-(
awful just awful, and smelly too very very smelly.
Been a longtime fan but this is really making me think about that. If u could return this crap I would be. Come on guys get back to hybrid theory.
I'm not a big LP fan, but this is one of the few albums of which I enjoyed every song. ❤️
Just amazing like before.
Always for Chester
Such a beautiful collection of songs. Loving it !
Linkin Park has come a long way from the head-banging upbeat nu-metal albums to electro-rock to finally pop-rock. The band shows its maturity by not writing songs about angst and questioning 'why is this happening to me' and writing about finding solutions, motivation and family. In brief, the album has certain highlights that are worth mentioning. 'Sorry for now' is perhaps their boldest experiments and somewhere between role reversal and catchy hooks, it managed to get stuck in my head. A success for sure. The title track brings a breezy calmness to the album while 'sharp edges' is as Shawn Mendesy as it gets. 'Heavy' and 'Talking to Myself' are perhaps the 'not-so-great' part of the album. Overall, its a solid album. Definitely worth your listen!
This is how one defines the genre "alternative "
Love
Amazing!!!!
I will never grow on pain ..that chester left This is still what i listen everyday While travelling and walkin alone
M A S T E R P I E C E, this is the last time when we’ll get to listen chester’s magnificent voice so sad bout it. He gave his best in all albums & in this he have taken the songs to an whole another level... miss u chester ❤️😞
Absolutely awesome lyrics!! Amazing transformation.. the lyrics have always been powerful for LP but this one has a special touch to it.. Just waiting eagerly for the whole album.. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
The preview singles sond poppy but amazing. I like the evolution.
Although the songs appear to be a blend of Pop, they grow on you after each replay. One can admit, the lyrics are powerful. Hoping for better songs over the pre releases.
Love this one from Linkin Park....
Might just be lyrically and vocally linkin park's best work yet
Wonderful change of pace and genre by linkin park.. just lovin it.. this shows that linkin park are the masters of all genres..Great work brothers keep it up

Great music is what LP love and are good at. This album is not what general public expected from them. For me, an LP fan from day one, I wouldn't expect anything other from them. Every album is different from the prior - and yet it is always music that I can connect with. Love listening to these songs as much as I love listening to Crawling and With You. Please continue to surprise us.
A Beautiful and emotional album served on a platter with empathy from Linkin Park Highly recommend! 5/5
Where is the band that started with some much promise go? How is this Linkin Park? It is so soft and mushy that it sounds like anything else on the radio. Give me back my Hybrid Theory.
Although this music is far from their original style, highly meaningful lyrics coupled with the scintillating voice of Chester make this album into something special! Well done LP!
This is a band that has no care for its fans. Bands have to evolve and build on their past. This album has completely disregarded that. This sounds like it would be sung by someone that won X factor not linkin park.
What has happened to L/P???Always have been my favourite band from the day the first album dropped but they are now almost unrecognisable. Very disappointed 😡
What's with the reviews? They are known for switching up their style. Almost every single album is something different! It's great, sounds good just different.
I'm a big fan of LP but have never been so disappointed on this one they should've released under a different name because this is not Linkin Park
They are unrecognisable and have betrayed their style and fans with this new album that panders to the masses
Like most people I'm missing the heavy guitar and grunt that they're famous for, but give this album a go. I think it's a bold move to move closer to pop for one album, just to show the critics from the "other side" that they can do that stuff as good as anyone. It's a fresh escape but I'll be happy when they go back to raw basics with the next release. Meantime, enjoy the ride⚡️
Great album! Their versatility has always been a feature. Interested to see what they do live with the songs...rock them up?
Just Bad
This is a mix of new and old with the same great musicians at the center of it all, enjoyable, pleasant, full of meaning and soul, each song has something to say and says it in a new way without the need to scream. 5 stars.
Great album still miss hybrid theory but this is good
If I could give it 0 stars I would. So disappointing from a band who were so good. Pandering to the gods of radio airplay. Next collaboration will probably be with Bieber or Swift ffs.
I love LP for their heavy side, so very disappointed in the sound of this album. But i can understand that bands do need to change, but this is too mainstream for me. They are going to loose alot of their fans, but will prob gain a whole lot who like radio stuff. Its a shame as many bands that started heavy are going mainstream, and my list of albums is getting smaller.
Best Tracks: Battle Symphony, Talking to Myself Worst Tracks: Sharp edges, Invisible
Seriously, if I wanted a One Direction album I would have bought one. Massive Disappointment
Battle symphony is my fave from the first 3 songs, looking forward to hearing the rest.. I don't mind it being a little different..
So let's start by saying this isn't rock or ✌️nu metal✌️ This album is another style and for good reason! This album is one of the most personal albums they have recorded to date, it is short hitting only 35 minutes, but in that short period, you are listening to a strong range of emotions and messages. Chesters voice really gives the new style justice, with a unique echo sound and the switch with Mike doing vocals and Chester as a support in some songs, just shows how the band are still happy with the music they make and love to mix things up every time. If you want to fully understand this album, I suggest you go and watch the interviews regarding One More Light. This is the only album to have ever been name after a song, which holds a very strong connection to all the band members. This album is very easy listening, the best way to fully enjoy the sound is to lie down outside on the grass in the sun and just hit play! I will be excited for the next album in the future. Well done Linkin Park, you have created another masterpiece for your legacy! 5🌟 To the haters...... your not TRUE fans. Move on, Linkin Park has 🖕
I like chocolate cake and always will. Do I want to eat chocolate cake every day though? No. Sometimes I feel like carrot cake. This is carrot cake. Some people don't like carrot cake but that's ok with me.
They have always delivered great music linkin park rule
Sounds closer to one direction than Linkin Park. Really disappointed, please go back to your roots LP
This album does lack the screaming highs we have come to expect from Chester, but really shows soul from each and every member of the band. And I love how Mike and Chester reversed the rolls of rapping and singing to see what it would sound like. Chesters sharp edges is amazing. Doesn't matter what all you haters say, your only halfway right!
Linkin Park is no more Link Park now
A far cry from early Linkin Park. Even from albums like The Hunting Party or A Thousand Suns. This albums sounds like they're desperate to be on the radio again
very disappointed they've gone away from LP and just main stream rubbish
I have always enjoyed Linkin Park's musical efforts, love their last six albums, from the nu-metal/rap rock of the first two albums to the electronica-influence of A Thousand Suns. I tried to enjoy these new songs, but I couldn't. Lazy songwriting, boring, overly repetitive hooks and the music doesn't push any boundaries whatsoever. Simply pandering to what is considered to be trendy in an attempt to maintain a position on the charts. Very sad effort from brilliant musicians who ought to know better. Would not recommend.
Its times like this I wish there was a zero star option
If you love terrible pop music then this is the album for you! If you're a Linkin Park fan and have been with them since day one, this album will put you off them for good. I am done with Linkin Park, this is a a disgrace! I'm into ALL of their previous albums but this.....this is next level garbage!!!
These guys are truly talented. I have been a fan since Hybrid Theory and I love how they continue to grow and change.
I have listened to the album multiple times & the only thing I can say is it's awesome, been a fan since Hybrid Theory's release & although this is different from that and Meteora it doesn't make it any less great. Linkin Park has been changing from its first album to this one, they gave people what they wanted in there last album Hunting Party and it's reviews aren't great either (2.5 stars out of 5, 65% out of 100%). Keep it up Linkin Park don't listen to the haters, your making great music. 👍
I listened to all the albums, the new one has well thought lyrics and their tunes have great melody. My favourites are Talking to Myself, Halfway Right, Invisible and Ballad Symphony. Any band needs to reinvent themselves or otherwise you end up sounding the same. So give the album a good listen before you prejudge it.
So sad to see how mediocre this album is. hardly any instruments or any effort put into it at all. Hate how poppy and electronic, computerised it is, doesn't sound good at all. I'm not going to compare it to the older stuff. On its own, it's terrible. Just because society is all about mainstream pop/electronic/techno garbage doesn't mean you should fall linkin park, you have failed everything you stand for.
Is this Human Nature?
I understand why there was change. Bands like people need to grow and change. They can't keep going with the same old stuff. There are some good tracks on this album; my favourite is sorry for now. Good goodbye would be my least favourite. The lyrics of each song resonate on a level like they always have. People just need to stop and listen to what's being said. You'll find that hard rock doesn't fit with the lyrics which were written before the music. I do agree that this is very left field compared to what we are used to, but it's slowly growing on me. Every album they've changed their sound slightly and took a risk with a dramatic turn with this one. I do miss the "metal/rock" they are known for but things change. BMTH did a similar thing. No one liked their newest album but it slowly grew on them. I'm sure this will as well.
Been a Linkin Park fan since I was 4 years old after hearing crawling on the radio. Now this album very far away from their roots. However, it's still the same Linkin Park at the core, still the same relatable and deep lyrics, and still the same amazing instrumental pieces. I believe that this is a step in the right direction for Linkin park as they experiment different types of music styles. Over all a great album, would highly recommend if you're a pop fan or if you're a Linkin Park with a open mind to change.
A brilliant album. Don't listen to the rocktivist Hybrid Theory haters. The band have been producing a new sound on every album since Meteora; why would anyone be surprised at this now?! Highlights for me include the opening track Nobody Can Save Me, Talking To Myself, One More Light and Sharp Edges.
I'll always be a fan of LP. I've listened to them from the very beginning and I love how much they've grown as a band. They're creative, versatile and awesome live.
Every song released so far from Heavy, Battle Symphony, Good Goodbye & Invisible, Linkin Park have delivered songs with powerful lyrics, messages & concepts. Sonically its in the realm of Living Things/ A Thousand Suns. However it does sound quite different to previous albums but in a very good way. The title track, One More Light is incredible probably one of their best ever done & Talking to Myself is great too. They don't copy & paste sounds over & over like other bands. Linkin Park are in their own gerne and create a new sound experience every album.
Can't decide if getting a few songs ahead of the release date is awesome or cruel and unusual. Every album these guys produce brings a new sound and while I still love Hybrid Theory every single effort since then has been a thouroughly enjoyable and new experience. Heavy is powerful and emotionally charged and for a relatively simple set of lyrics its breadth is magnificent. Good Goodbye has some real snap and Battle Symphony is a work of genius. I am however dying to hear the rest of the album and my wife and daughter are about to snap from hearing Heavy for the 600th time... Keep up the good work Linkin Park.
Hello, are you out there. Help, I am obviously stuck in an alternate universe where decent bands have changed from grungy metal to fluffy teenybopper rubbish......what in the world is this pathetic excuse for music, you've lost another fan guys.
Just NO
Love the diversity of LP always evolving
Every album is different. These guys blend genres to create the best of different types of music. I'm now glad this band is making this album to showcase their versatility and how they can make any genre sound awesome with their songs. Absolutely beautiful tracks.
Ah this feels quite commercial to me. Im hoping its an april first in MAY!
One of Linkin parks best.
I really love Linkin Park from my teenage years and will love them till the end. Not expecting greatness, what I'm expecting a new perspective in music and in the messages that they're trying to portrayed. Every words, tunes and instruments that they come up with are very powerful and deep. Amazing stuff! Keep growing in music. Spreading the love ❤️
If you love One Direction - you'll love this. If you love the old Linkin Park - you'll most likely hate it. I know I do.
This is end of my relationship with this band. I've been prepared to entertain their other diversions, but I cannot for the life of me understand why they would head down this path. We already have too many pop bands churning out forgettable rubbish like this.
