I love this entire album from Kelly Clarkson. Lots of R&B influemce, with pop melodies that stick instantly. This is my favorite complete album from her so far. I put this alomg with her greatest hits on shuffle and I'm good to go. Five stars. If you like Kelly or pop music you'll love Meaning Of Life.

I am a HUGE Kelly Clarkson fan, and I anxiously awaited the release of this album. I am glad others here have an appreciation for this album. I am sadly in the minority, I guess. With that being said, I just have not been able to warm up to this album, AT ALL! I've tried. Her voice sounds great, but at this point in her career, I find the material to be quite lacking. Her first single off the album ("Love So Soft") was fun. Stylistically speaking, it was quite a departure for her, and I liked it. I was eager to hear more from the forthcoming album. I like when an artist forges new territory and tests the waters of a new genre... USUALLY. Here is where it derailed for me. Beyond the first single, however, I found most of the songs to be quite boring with no catchy hook. I think the problem for me is that the title track is just downright groaningly lame. And to me, if your title track is weak and you attempt to build an album around a weak title track, you are gonna have a weak album. Your title track needs to support the other tracks on an album. And here, unfortunately the painful title track is complete dreck. I have purchased every album of hers (various singles and remixes, too!) and she occupies a large chunk of space on my i-pod...but I will likely be deleting the majority of songs from "Meaning Of Life". I am just NOT feeling it with this collection. To quote a lyric from her previous album, "Sorry, I'm not sorry!" To say I am disappointed regarding the content of this album, would be an understatement.

Would have appreciated an explicit warning on at least one track as I got this album for my kids and wasn’t expecting that.

My first listen to it I kind of only liked “love so soft”. But, after listening to it again, and listening to the lyrics... I am addicted to this album! I am so glad she was finally able to do her own thing that she’s been wanting to do since winning American Idol. It took 15 years for her to get out of that contract. The power of her voice in the whistle tones that she hits the 90s/soul R&B vibe that she gives is amazing. Every albums been better than the last and she never disappoints!!! #TexasRepresent
