In December 2015, a few weeks before the album's release, the song's producer, Glass John, took to Twitter and ranted about the delays behind the album. According to him, the song was supposed to be the first single but Travis Scott convinced Rihanna to go with "Bitch Better Have My Money" instead. According to James Corden, the host of CBS' The Late Late Show with James Corden, she was supposed to perform the song at the 2016 Grammy's. Rihanna ended up cancelling her performance at the last minute due to health issues.
