The fact that Billy Joel attained some sort of status as a musical success would suggest that the entire world has been on really good drugs that blocks auditory receptors. I wish I could have been in attendance at the board meeting where "uptown girl" was presented, so I could drop a flying back knuckle to every mentally challenged music executive that proclaimed "IT'S A HIT". A pox upon all those who loosed this poison upon the world.

I had pretty much all the songs in this album. I did get at least 3-4 songs I didn't have already :-) Saw a great concert at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, PA. Stage was home plate and back. I was standing at 2nd Base!! Rock on.

Billy Joel is my all time favorite singer. When I decided to buy the actual album I was a little anxious that it wouldn't turn out like I wanted it to, but when I received it I was overjoyed. I highly recommend it.

And these aren't even his album tracks. If you want to REALLY get to know Billy and his music check out his entire catalogue. This is just a glimpse, but an incredible one. Billy can write and sing in any style and genre. From country to jazz to motown to pop to rock, with the best of them. So even though this is a great place to start, go back and check out Billy's music from his 60's band, The Hassles, all the way through his last pop/rock album River Of Dreams. The depth of this mans songwriting is phenomonal. Billy Joel forever.

I'm paraphrasing, but someone once said that Billy Joel says in a three minute song what you have been trying to say your whole life. The only correction I'd make is that some of these songs are four minutes. No one can really be this talented, right? There isn't anyone else in popular music who has written the music and lyrics to this many classic songs. No one comes close. These are some of those classics. If you don't already own them, buy them. They will be with you the rest of your life.

Our marching is doing a tribute to the piano man this year. Billy Joel is a true American music legend and his music is very inspiring. A good singer sings. A great singer sets up a mood for his songs and that is exactly what Billy Joel does. I haven't heard music like this for the longest time (so punny)

This album truly shows the intellegence and originality of the one and only Billy Joel. It is really too bad that the music industry these days has lost the quality and meaning that this collaboration of songs has exemplified. I would say Billy is unarguably the greatest songwriter of all time and is a joy to listen to. I honestly can not say which song of his is my favorite because they are all so good. Billy Joel forever!!!

He is the whole package. Saw him in concert in the 1979 and it was one of the best concerts that I have had the privilege of enjoying. He was a ball of energy! He is such a talented songwriter and musician. If he ever comes to a town near you….go!
