This is one of the only albums I can listen to the whole way through. This type of music (mostly R&B) is what Beyonce's musical style is all about! Her music ALWAYS sounds different from whatever else is out. She's so much more than just a pop star. She's so inventive with the ways she uses her voice. She says Crazy In Love is the song she wants to be known for because it's a classic R&B track, not to mention with unique instrumentation (even though it's a borrowed sample, she still used it!) This and 4 are her best albums. She made sure she told us who she was as an artist with this debut. Sasha Fierce is her most commercial album with hit after hit after hit (which I still LOVE). With D.I.L. and 4, she wasn't really going for a hit radio song (especially with 4, which I love), and she still released this album because she was being true to herself. This album holds a special place in my heart. Beyonce is my Michael Jackson! I can't wait till her next one.

Bought this when it first came out and I wore out the CD within a few months...more like weeks. 5 star rating all the way... for a beautiful lady!

So I was only in 6th grade when this Album came out, and I wasn't a huge Destiny's Child fan as a kid aside from the hits. I vaguely remember thumping in the car to 'Crazy In Love' when it came on the radio as well as 'Baby Boy', but it wasn't until 'B'day' came around that I fell 'Dangerously in Love' with Beyonce- maybe because the R&B sound was more accessible to an 8th grader. Since then I've been a huge fan of B, but I always had that huge chunk of her iconic music missing from my playlist. I finally decided a couple of months ago to download 'Dangerously in Love' after listening to '4' about 150 times. Who knew that I was missing out on such a great album for the last 9 years? Every track on this album is so well crafted, insightful, and passionate. It's also interesting to hear a tone of voice that has a distinct amount of naiveté and- for lack of better word- immaturity that has now been replaced by her signature powerhouse vocals. I can't believe in less than a decade that the accepted style of music has gone from quality, well performed R&B and soul to the recycled auto tuned dance crap thats on the radio nonstop. Kudos to B, though, for sticking to her guns and continuing to crank out awesome songs with integrity despite the trends.

Beyonce's been with me from Destiny's Child to now! So I love her and I always will! KEEP GOING BEYONCE!
