Another great John Mayer album, love it and a great follow on from Born and Raised. The perfect summer time music!
Mayer's best album yet. Truly great music and a perfect follow up to Born and Raised.
Addicted to this album and its best summer of your life feel. Makes me want to roll the windows down and smell the ocean. Wildfire, Paper Doll and Who you Love will appeal to fans of his earlier music. Badge and Gun and Dear Marie have a beautiful depth.
His best album yet.
He slays again with his soft rock/ alternative feel. He sounds phenomenal and I can hear the work put into this album. Katy Perry also sounds so different and beautiful with the alternative rock feel, and shows her true talent. You strike gold once again John Mayer! Welcome back!
awwwww with katy!!!!!!!!!!!?????????? how cute.... yay john mayer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Give the guy a break! He seems to be in a much better place in his life than he was a few years ago, and now all his fans are crapping all over him for not delivering exactly what they wanted. Broaden your horizons and give the album a chance: If you want more Continuum or Heavier Things, go listen to those albums. I think the simplicity in his new sound allows the truth to come out. This might end up being my favorite Mayer album yet.
John Mayer is NOT rock!!!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
MUITO BOM GOSTEI MUITO
This release is disappointing. For the most part the lyrics are repetetive and the tunes are predictable. It's way below his usual standards, imo. However, the musicianship is top notch, as usual. I just bought tickets to see him in a few weeks. I'm sure most of the material will be from this release, but I hope he mixes it up some.
I personally LOVE this album, I agree with the previous comments it's sorta like a combination of Continuum and Heavier things. The best so far in my opinion I really enjoy Paper doll, Badge and gun and wildfire. It defiantly has more of a country side than his previous CDs but I think after his surgery a lot of things changed including his out look on his life and making new music. Seriously John, thank you so much for being so incredibly inspirational. I'll see you in Austin! <3
5 is the best
THIS IS AMAZING I LOVE JOHN MAYER
I’ve read a hundred reviews that say true fans will follow. Me…I don’t get it.
This is one of his best albums yet!
this album is so real i know exactly where the song came from. his heart. he gives his fans what they want and john makes the album a whole other type of music no one has heard before
That's the problem, he gave up drinking…. moved to the "country" and lost his mojo. I have loved John Mayer since I first saw him on TV, a taped concert, about 7 years ago, I had never even heard of him before then - but I immediately ran to iTunes and downloaded ALL of his available titles. I didn't even know about the "Born and Raised" album that everyone is trashing, it must be bad because it got no press; but I did take a sincere listen to all of the tracks from "Paradise Alley" and I've got to say, it just about put me to sleep. Nothing exciting, nothing daring, just country. His voice is still there, but I can't get past that TWANGing guitar. smh. It made me want to listen to all of his older songs, which is what I'm going to do right now! I'm sorry JM, I still love you, but "Paradise Valley" I. just. can't. :(
There's a lot that can be said about John Mayer's recent album: Paradise Valley. It has a country vibe to it and a Continuum vibe. That's like seeing Jimmy Hendrix square dancing. Some songs are catchy, others are boring. Not every artist has great songs on their album (except for Mumford and Sons). John is trying to branch out. Let the guy grow. He's a young tree. Let's not be the metaphorical ax and chop him down. Overall, a good album.
Ele canta demais, meu Deus!
great job❤️❤️💋!!
John Mayer's best album yet hands down. The lyrics are amazingly genuine and you can tell he's feeling exactly what he is singing. This is pure music. Nothing less. It's not country or pop. It's just John. It's the evolution of young John to this mature adult who just wants to be himself and we get that feeling from listening. Well done.
I hate country… and this album is country and yet I LURVE it! I have no idea how that works. I guess it's just John Mayer.
I love Paradise Valley. John Mayer has tremendous talent in songwriting. Has a way of writing lyrics that always touch my heart and get deep into my own thoughts and feelings, as if we’re on a similar wavelength, thinking about life and relationships old and new. He comes up with the most unique ways to express himself. A couple of my favorite songs on this album are Dear Marie and Badge and Gun. His sound is relaxed and layered with fantastic melodies. I have been a huge fan ever since his first album and I love the direction he has gone. He has matured into an amazing guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter. I highly recommend buying this album and listening to it for years to come! Thank you John Mayer for your gift of music.
It kills me to say this, as I've been a die-hard Mayer fan since "your body is a wonderland", but I have to be honest and say that I don't like this album. The only song I like is "Who You Love". I love John. I love his voice and his collaborations but this cd just isn't the John mayer I fell in love with back in 2000. This cd is too country and I just don't like the songs. I miss the old John. Even his style has changed, which I would say living in Colorado has something to do with his change. I still love him as an artist but I won't be rocking out to this cd, unfortunately.
Please please please leave country music to the country singers!! I respect taking the challenge, I am not saying it is bad. But if I wanted to listen to country music I would. I want ot hear John Mayer, not done, redone, and overdone country music. BORING!!!
Love, love, love it! I just saw him live the other day, and I am infatuated!!!!
John Mayer is one of my favorites that I've always counted on to put me in a good mood or relax me. I've always counted on good music and always received it. Until now. I saw people reviewing, too country, and I didn't believe it until I listened. I hear a bit of his old self a little but its just not the same.
SIN EMBARGO, NECESITO QUE ME AYUDEN PORQUE COMPRE EL ALBUM ANTICIPADO, Y NO PUEDO DESCARGARLO, NO SE QUE PASA. SALE COMPRADO . YO ENVIE UN CORREO PERO NO HE RECIBIDO RESPUESTA. GRACIAS EVELYN MARSHALL
😍😍😍😍😍 so good!!!
Even more amazing in person.
I'm sorry but this album is just awful and that's coming from a true John Mayer fan. Looks like the days of battle studies, continuum, room for squares and heavier things are over. I own every other John Mayer album except for about half of born and raised (that album wasn't good either) and there's nothing on this album that I would pay money to download. That being said, John Mayer will alway be one of if not my favorite artist but if this is the best he can come out with, then it's time to call it quits. Don't keep going until your burned out.
Where are you all getting country? this is not country. It is clearly an expression of his individual talent it's not a copycat music. Yes it's not as bluesy and more folksy, but it's genuine, heartfelt, positive, thoughtful. it's music that he personally created that will go down in history as an amazing work of art. If you like the Britney Spears bubblegum stuff go listen to that pop crap. This is so brilliantly put together it's phenomenal, a masterpiece, every album grows on you the more you listen to it, listen to the lyrics, listen to the melodies, listen to the talent, this isn't radio gaga its a legend living his life..I love it, really love it! Long live JCM
The last two Mayer albums have been horrible with only one or two decent songs on them. I appreciate that John is obviously doing some different things with his music...but in my humble opinion it is just not working!!! I hope he soon goes back to his rock/blues roots. If he would have began his career playing his current music most of us would not even know who John Mayer was and he would be on the long unfortunate list of struggling musicians trying to make it!!!
Leave it to John to reinvent himself in a way that both speaks to his maturity (as an artist, person) and draws us (avid fans, casual listeners alike) in to the music. It's difficult for me to say "I expected another blues album" when this album contains elements of folk, country, and good ole singer-songwriter. Paradise Valley is intimate. It's exploratory. It pushes the envelope for current Mayer fans, and it draws in new fans. In short, it's everything a new album SHOULD be.
I love how John's albums reflect where he is in his life. Both personally and musically. I think it shows his creative abilities. I cannot wait for his next album. I do hope he brings some blues back.
I honestly loved John Mayer… He brings your mind to other worlds with his music. However, since battle studies album, I do not know what he is doing. I am completely not liking this music he is putting out lately. One song on this album i like. His last album as much as i tried to get into it… i hated it. Please stop this country music stuff. You are losing your core base of fans.. coming form a fan you pulled from hip-hop… and now are losing again.
Montana was good to John Mayer! This album is as beautiful as Paradise Valley. Amazing!
It's my favorite album now. So good. I love ol' Johnny boy.
The album is amazing. He mixed a bit of all his albums into one.
I love this album!!! It's fun and new
There is a reason that John was hugely successful from the get go. His talent is amazing but so many of us fell in love with him because of his sound, and now that sound is gone. I hate these last few albums not because they weren't "good" but because they weren't "John". He was so good at being himself...I'm just confused now. I guess I'm glad I still have all of his old albums to listen to... I've gone to all of his concerts here in Dallas but i'm not following him on this new road. I miss him and his original amazing music.
I like it. It’s mellow and meaningful - just what I look for in a John Mayer album.
Another superb music from an amazing artist. He never ceases to create beautiful songs. The subtle country twist is fresh and totally captivating .
Great album! Keep it up John!
I bought this from Itunes and 8 out 11 downloaded into my itunes even though it says purchased. THEN...I gifted my friend the album thinking maybe it was my computer that caused the problem. When he downloaded it only 4 of the 11 songs downloaded! What's up!?????? The weird part...is all of the songs show up on my iphone. Just not my library on my computer. Seriously amazing cd though.
Mature, haunting left me feeling melencholy for the way it was, but glad to be where I am today. John Mayer is a true musical artist, one of a kind. This album has made me a John Mayer fan for life.
These are the best songs i ever heard from him. Love them.
It's okay...don't really like the country thing going on
I'm obsessed with this song! amazing!
i like this album is because katy is in it and hes dating her
This album seems to take its roots back to Born and Raised. For fans that enjoyed his last album it's a another installment. It seems rushed though. But overall good. RATING: B+
Well I wanted to wait a while and digest this album completely before writing a review and I'm glad I did. Like all great albums, this one takes a few listens to really appreciate. I was disappointed at first because of the twangy sound change. I thought Room for Square was absolutely fabulous. But I quickly got used to the change in style and really found most cuts on Paradise Valley to be pretty awesome. I really love Waitin on the Day and Dear Marie. His lyrics and music still provide some clever twists and provoke some thoughts of past and present experiences. Thanks John! Looking forward toward your full recovery and hope you'll be able hit those highs again someday soon!
This is a nice album. Every artist goes through different phases in music, this one I like. It's nice to have a variety from one artist. Nice job John!

From hearing Paper Doll, Dear Marie, Wildfire and Waitin' on the Day (both recorded and live), I can say this is some of John's best music yet. His passion for life, love and music spills out in every song. This CD is bound to be an epic one! -Andrea
he's the best of all
I've heard two of the tracks, "Paper Doll" and "Wildfire", and all I can say is: WOW. John, being my favorite musician ever, never ceases to amaze me with his new aesthetics and exuberant music on every record he brings out. Can't wait to hear the rest! Long live, JM.
Fantastic so far
From the sounds of "Paper Doll" and "Dear Marie" this album will be a good different for many mayer fans!
"REPEAT"
He's the best and will always be : )
I just adore this record! Especially "Dear Marie" and "Who You Love". Katy Perry did very well. I'm excited to own this record.
MAYER IS BACK
Took me back to the wonder years of yore ! A must have for folks who have an ear and heart for soulful music.
Absolute delight so far. Still mid way thru the album. Already want to hit 'replay' across most of them. Thx Mayer!
It's A Great Pleasure & It Gives So Happiness Tø Get All Your Tracks And Albums John Mayer .
This is a must have album. Awesome Rock Songs with amazing guitar.
Waited long for this. Mayer is definitely back with a bang.
OMG! JCM's song writing skill and music is a total killer.JCM's best album.
Such a happy song, really awaiting the album release.
You really have to check-out review for purchasing mayer's songs cmon ! his all songs are great and this album is Gonna be Legendary ! i betcha
All ❤️ ❤️❤️
Heard the preview yesterday and it is just amazing. It's great that John is in that zone where his music sounds so effortless , simple and effective. Amazing song writing and tunes. Preordered it ! #Mayerisback
Changing genres huh? I Love paradise valley! We want another album like Continuum!
A man who out shines himself everytime! Truly a legend ! Just want to see him live ! One of my fav artist since childhood ! And this album is perfect !
Will relax your senses & refresh you mind...

Amazing as per usual. Proud to call you my hero. 💕
He needs to stick to the bluesy stuff, there are people out there making much better Americana music than this. I found this bland and uninteresting in comparison to previous offerings. If I wanted americana I would be listening the The Civil Wars!
Keep on keeping on Mr Mayer - glad you're still exploring your musicality and writing stuff that's interesting.
GO BACK TO YOUR BLUESY WAYS JOHN! Stick to the formula of Continuum! Nearly nothing of yours has been as good since then. I miss the bluesy, slightly rocky, slightly pop-like music you used to do, why change if it works?! I won't fully judge until I've heard all the record but i'm really not looking forward that much!
So gutted they have pushed the release date back, literally cannot wait for it any more!!!
A lot of people give him hate, I think he's cool, and he writes a good song.
Absolute perfection, a true master of music
his older stuff is so much better, not a fan of this new country phase with the harmonica….
Sorry, I nodded off. Did I miss anything interesting?
Good music come's from the heart and that is what john is all about! Yes he has changed his style very slightly in some songs but he shouldn't make music just to coupe with peoples needs he makes music because he loves it and that is why his songs are just so great! well done john another superb album!
Such a great album in so many ways! Perfect for that evening out in the garden, perfect to relax to, perfect to drive along to, the lyrics are meaningful and his voice in extremely smoothing. Best £8.99 I've spent!
For all those crying that its not Continuum go listen to that album. I like the fact that he's going on his own musical journey not influenced by genre and not aiming to be pigeon holed . I like this album it's awesome great songs well written a little county-ish but its all good lots of bluesy undertones and nice well crafted melodies. Buy it your money is safe if you enjoy quality music.
I reckon some people get so caught up trying to be all 'critic-al', or mired in trying to compare new albums to their favourite LP from an artist's back catalogue they forget that, sometimes, all you need to do is sit back and enjoying soaking up some beautiful music. What a gorgeous assortment of true musicianship. Mayer's done it again.
Don't change a thing! Excellent songcraft & musicianship throughout. For those who were looking for the blues, can't you hear it? Wood and trees come to mind.
So glad to hear John back to good health and recording again. This album is one of his beat yet, elements of country blues and rock all in one. The Katy Perry collaboration is a true highlight.
Just streamed the entire album and I'm going to listen again. And again. And again. It's seriously that good. Mayer's direction musically is always going to take different paths, and ill keep following them. Truly brilliant stuff here.
It isn't necessarily the sounds John Mayer creates, for me it's about the journey he takes you on. Whether that's blues, folk, country, pop, rock and any other pigeon hole he doesn't deserve to be put in, his music and his continued exploration of it is about growing up and being placed in all these different situations. I for one do try to remain unbiased, and don't love everything, but I respect it and the admire the majority. I've streamed this at every moment ive had spare, and like Continuum and fleeting moments in between (Walt Grace, Assassin, Face to Call Home), it strikes a familiar place in my heart and reminds me how beautiful and haphazard life can be. I for one, think Paradise Valley is exactly that.
Everything John Mayer Releases is genius. Another incredible album full of beautiful melodies and lyrics. As one of my all time favourite artists, due to his consistently excellent talent, i'm always excited for a new release and this just proves why he's regarded as such a great musician. Although not my favourite of his releases (that's still Continuum), as far as i'm concerned he never disappoints, no matter what genre or new direction he's headed in. Some immediate favourites are: Wildfire, Dear Marie, Paper Doll, Who You Love, I Will Be Found, Wildfire (Pt.2) and On The Way Home. However i consider the album in it's entirity, another JM masterpiece. So whether a fan from the beginning or new, you should appreciate this release.
Perfection. That is all.
First off, you can't compare any album Mr. Mayer has wrote in the past to any other of his. They're all different in both direction and genre, you might as well compare chocolate to marmite in terms of what tastes better at breakfast. From the sounds of Waiting on the Day, Paper Doll and Wildfire. It all sounds original and so chilled, I could listen to just those three tracks all day - the whole album I reckon will be fantastic! Makes for a change which is what we need from the rubbish filled radios!
This is a little disappointing, and I was looking forward to the new album, but this just misses the mark tbh and seems to be far to 'country' for me, at least on a preview listen of all the tracks.
So many of the user reviews moan about John Mayers not playing 'blues music' anymore, how his albums don't sound like 'Continuum' anymore. These are most likely the same people who would have complained about Dylan going electric or the Beatles going psychedelic. Artists mature and grow and the John Mayer of 'Paradise Valley' is much more subtle and composed than 'Continuum.' And though he may not be Dylan or Lennon/McCartney, this is a really great, smooth listen. Check it out :)
It's nice to finally listen to the complete album from start to finish. It's also nice not to be faced with the choice of a supposed deluxe version. This album has all the ingredients that we now expect from mayer. His underplaying of guitar simply hides what are the inevitable live versions. Yes he continues to embrace and evolve his sound and you have got to love him for that. Onwards and upwards and I for one can't wait to see this album given the live treament.
The tone and warmth that you hear off this album makes you want to replay it over and over again. Amazing!
I discovered JM through House M.D. when they played Gravity. Never looked back since. The first two albums were good introductions, with glimpses like Split Screen Sadness, Neon and Bigger Than My Body. Continuum was when he set himself apart and though not everybody has liked the direction into Pop (BS) and then 'Country'ish (B&R), I've loved it. Bring on PV, which is not B&Rv2.0 but the next step in the progression. Wildfire, Waiting on the Day, Paper Doll and Dear Marie are my favourites so far. I LOVE it when an artist makes turns and heads down different directions and I'm loving John's journey. Always a clever twist on a lyric and a killer hook or riff when required. I just love this guy and can't wait for the 19th (streaming never feels the same).
Very creative song writing, not over produced with some great instrumental aspects giving depth and colour. Very much looking forward to the whole album.
This man embodies musical appreciation and expression and has a great knack for channeling joy and feeling through his music. His melodies and hooks are first class- I cannot wait to revel in his sound at Wembley in October #totallegend
This is a stunningly brilliant album that will do wonders for country music in the UK! I'm... In...Love!!!
SUCH a great album! I hadn't heard any of John's music before this album and I absolutely love it! This album flows so well in its entirety. 'Who You love' is a very emotive passionate duet with Katy Perry and the highlight for me! (Being the KatyCat that I am!). But 'I Will Be Found' is equally astounding. Superb work! You have a new fan here in England! Keep up the hard work! Rest assured - the album is Pre-ordered! 👍
WOW!
Listening go Paper Doll and Wildfire is creating huge excitement for me. Long awaited for this album and I truly cannot wait!
Great way to start a Monday morning! John back at it again.
I admit I'm a late convert to Mr Mayer's work, but, so glad I've gotten to know him. This is a truly beautiful album. I'm a fan.
Oh dear, where has the Angry Young Man of so many great blues and rock performances on Where The Light Is, As If and Try gone? Born and Raised was a real disappointment and this continues on that same middle of the road AoR zzzzzzzzzzz. We saw him at Hyde Park with Clapton a couple of years back and then again in London when he last toured. BRILLIANT. But this album and his last have put us right off spending money on someone that has completely lost his mojo. COME ON JOHN WAKE UP!!!!!!
I Will Be Found is the clear highlight of this album. One of best songs in my opinion.
Listening to the 24 hour stream of the album.. everything is perfect. The atmosphere created by each and every song could not be better. Album Pre-ordered. Can already tell this is going to be one of my most played albums.
A different type of approach to what he has in his mind but hey the guy can only write what he's feeling. Am glad he's happy. And as always he always has a way to tocuh what you are actually thinking about. Great Job and Great Music.
Incredible. Call Me The Breeze cover was great. Lost At Sea and Who You Love are the real standouts on this one. Wildfire and Paper Doll are a nice change of pace. Enjoy.
Mayer has comeback with a great album. I was worried that paradise valley would simply be 'born and raised 2' but that's not the case. Though the two albums are definitely similar, paradise valley is certainly shows that mayer is continuing to experiment. I know that's this isn't like continuum mayer that everyone keeps yearning for, but I think that paradise valley will like continuum express John Mayers true genius as musician. I listened to this at the tender age of 18 and this album will remain with me forever. Dear Marie has got me wondering, who the Marie is in my life?
