After Hours is the fourth studio album by Canadian singer The Weeknd, released on March 20, 2020, via XO and Republic Records. Thematically, the album explores loneliness, self-loathing and escapism. The standard edition of After Hours has no features, but the remixes edition contains guest appearances from Chromatics and Lil Uzi Vert. The album was supported by four singles: "Heartless", "Blinding Lights", "In Yours Eyes" and "Save Yours Tears". The title track was released as a promotional single. In March 2020, After Hours broke the record for the most global pre-adds in Apple Music history, with over 1.02 million users. The album received generally positive reviews; some critics named it the Weeknd's best work. It debuted atop the Billboard 200, marking the Weeknd's fourth number-one album in the US, and stayed atop the chart for four consecutive weeks. After Hours also reached the top spot in 20 other countries, including his native Canada and the United Kingdom. As of December 2022, the album is certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

As a Fan of The Weeknds early work, such as House of Balloons and the entire Trilogy, it is safe to say he lived up to my expectations. He has this thing with consistency and has a deep understanding of his style and knows his audience. Each song is crafted to perfection and has had deep consideration- rather than pumping out hits after hits, he creates one whole masterpiece with an underlying message and theme. As I like to say, After Hours is like if HOB and My Dear Melancholy has a love child. Definitely a contender for the Grammys

However, in this album, many of the wounded to me as if I knew them already and I could predict his melody. It is by no means subpar and I understand the 80s influence, but I know Abel has some more classics coming.

This is a tough one. For something to listen throughYour headphones or speakers at home The Weeknd is and always has been great. Seeing him live however, he loses all his mystery, lacks stage presence and his vocals are nothing close to the quality on the album. Not to mention it’s mostly backing vocals which he isn’t great at hiding. If you’re just in it for something to listen to, great, but if you judge from actual talent, this guy is actually just a whole lot of Hollywood fakery with the edgy image.
