- Goose-pimple stuff...

Billy's best work, dare I say it, since Gish...not the raging that the Pumpkins fans grew up with in the 90s, but a classic stirring of the soul to the extent that only Billy is capable...

- Great

Instant classic...... Nicole is such a great bass player!

- Billy Prolific

Corgan gets better with age. Love this album.

- .

Why isnt the album Zeitgeist on itunes anymore?

- Masterpiece

From the opening track on this is simply a rock epic masterpiece.

- Color me surprised...

After the horrendous Zeitgeist I had written off that my favorite had indeed broke up in 2000 and this was just Billy Corgan’s mediocre solo project under a familiar brand, but Oeania is, well…really good! The songwriting feels genuine, the overall soundscapes are immersive and exciting, and it (regardless of how many involved) actually sounds like a band. I add this review now, because I’m so disappointed with Monuments for an Elegy after an album like Oceania. Guess what Billy, us kids still love rock n’ roll so do the album you want to make.

- Fantastic Sound and Writing

Great new material. This album is one of their best. Keep Rockin

- A Revolution from the grunge of the 90's

I have been listening to SP since I was a baby. That's not me exaggerating. I own every album and this one by far is my favorite

- lives up to the name

Yes, Billy may have a new cast of characters; however, this is the best pumpkins release in years. This rivals siamese and mellon collie and is much better than anything put out in the last ten years. There may be new names in the credits but this lives up to the pumpkins name. Well done.

- Good vibrations

Listening to Yod He Vau He Om followed by Panopticon, It feels like the entire Earth reverberates with this vibration and sends it off into the universe. Like a giant speaker exclaiming, “This is a taste of the beauty the Earth has to offer you!” We humans have our issues, but we are still masters of our circumstance. And Billy has touched on some higher levels of consciousness in some of his music. I am grateful to have it in my life.

- Wow

The Celestials and Violet Ray deliver quite the punch. Stumbled onto these gems whilst reminiscing about the Pumpkins glory days.

- The iTunes

Great album. But there’s a reason why I’ll only buy the CDs (instead of the stuff from the iTunes downloads the) from the now on. The. Because the iTunes the sometimes the calls this group The Smashing Pumpkins the and other times sometimes the calls them Smashing Pumpkins. So Smashing Pumpkins songs the and the albums will never the be organized correctly in your the iTunes library because of this the. Plus also, Amazon autorip when you the buy an album from any well known group you get a digital the copy and the CD often for the less. The. And if you get the CD, it sounds better.

- AWSOME......!!!!

They Smashed it.....AN AWSOME ALBUM.....!!!! MUSIC AT IT'S BEST FELLAS.

- There's a sun that shines again

It took a little warming up to, but I'll admit that this is one of my favorite works from the Pumpkins period. Panopticon and Glissandra are by and far the diamonds on this album of rubys, emeralds and sapphires for me. The only issue I have with this album that has plagued the Pumpkins since their first split is the lack of emotion in Billy's voice; some of the songs sound rather deadpan vocally, but all in all, a great album from a band that hasn't changed, but rather, evolved. Five stars.

- Some of his best work!

This is some of SP's best work.

- 21st century sound

It’s a well recorded album and the songs are solid with the right amount of catchiness depth and edge. The vocals at some points leave a bit to be desired and it feels like there is a conscious choice on Corgan’s part to be more direct and less mysterious about his feelings. This is very much a positive album which begs the question is this a “happy” album? In my mind Butch Vig was able to get the best vocals out of Corgan by blending them more with the sound of the band in the early days. That being said I will always be even more curious to see where he goes from here.

- Triumph!!

Classic SP, but fresh!!

- Violet Haunting

Great album full of energy, Violet Rays, my love is winter are killers song big win here, thanks billy.

- A Far Cry from Melancholy... or Adore

The early 90's were a time when alternative rock ruled the airwaves. Arguably, few bands was more well-known in this genre at this time as Smashing Pumpkins. Unfortunately, Billy & crew seem unable to truly shed the trappings of their past alternative glory to explore unique territory. Of course, they did try this for a period of time on soundtracks (Batman & Robin and Lost Highway) and the spectacular (yet low-selling) Adore. Though under-appreciated at the time, Adore is the one album in which the Pumpkins seemed to forgo concerns regarding popularity and explored a darker and more timeless form of musical expression. People are always resistant to change however and the album failed to sell as the record company & the Pumpkins had hoped. As a result, we have less than stellar efforts such as Oceana. Violet Rays is an outstanding track, but the others are reminiscent of that sappy, dreadful light alternative sound. Even though Bullet with Butterfly Wings & Zero were mainstays on rock radio back in the day, these standout tracks also had that darker edge demonstrated on Adore and the aforementioned soundtracks. Some may disagree, but Smashing Pumpkins are at their best when they are darker / more melancholy.

- Awesome but where is Zeitgeist

Zeitgeist was on here a few months ago where the heck is the album now?

- Simply amazing

Pure talent as always

- Overlooked Masterpiece

I remember buying this album almost on a whim in 2012. At the time Billy was getting a ton of grief for keeping the SP name going under almost a solo project at the time of this release. Upon hitting play I was mesmerized. After a few listens, I came to the almost incredulous conclusion that this may be SP’s best album (or at least Top 3). I remember reading a review not long after that on a major music site had the same verdict. Sadly, SP’s in the spotlight was long over and this album didn’t really make any waves (and was followed up by the comparatively mediocre Monuments to an Elegy). It’s an overlooked gem that I HIGHLY recommend anyone purchasing in iTunes or checking on Apple Music.

- Incredible album, must have for your collection

This album is AMAZING, beautiful, psychedelic, hypnotic and just plain ROCKS. The inclusion of Jeff “Shredder” Schroeder (guitarist)is, in my opinion, one of the best additions to the Pumpkins ever. He is a master of the guitar in his own right, playing with WPC just elevates the music to another level. Highly recommend.

- Best Album since SD

This album is awesome. Corgan knows exactly how to convey what he wants in majestical ways. A true musician.

- Solid New Album!

Give it a shot.. Best Since Siamese Dream

- There's a Sun that Shines...

A much improved effort from Billy Corgan and company over the inconsistent Teargarden project and the meandering Zeitgeist. Highlights include Violet Rays, My Love is Winter, and the Chimera. A haunting look at going further into life alone.

- Just rediscovered this album.

Due to life changes I lost track in tastes of music as years became tragedies in "alt rock". So coming back to a band that came out the other side of that mess with all living members is a statement to them as people. This album is a ray of sunshine in the Smash Punk library. This is like A grade beach music and it's meanigful as well as very heart felt. Barvo Corgan, my man. You made it this far!

- Can't get enough of this album.

I've listened to SP since the mid-90s and this is one of their best pieces of work. I had to buy it after listening to it on Spotify countless times.

- Underrated

This album is very underrated in their discography. IMHO it’s one of their best albums. Corgan branches out into a sort of celestial imagination which shows his powerful range. Chamberlain is actually not on drums in this album but it’s hard to tell because his replacement is absolutely stellar. Every song on this album is worthwhile and Oceania is probably the best of them all. Very refreshing album from a band that never stops reinventing itself.

Oceania Wiki

Oceania (UK: OH-s(h)ee-AH-nee-ə, -AY-, US: OH-shee-A(H)N-ee-ə) is a geographical region including Australasia, Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia. Spanning the Eastern and Western hemispheres, at the centre of the water hemisphere, Oceania is estimated to have a land area of about 9,000,000 square kilometres (3,500,000 sq mi) and a population of around 46.3 million as of 2024. Oceania is the smallest continent in land area and the second-least populated after Antarctica. Oceania has a diverse mix of economies from the highly developed and globally competitive financial markets of Australia, French Polynesia, Hawaii, New Caledonia, and New Zealand, which rank high in quality of life and Human Development Index, to the much less developed economies of Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Western New Guinea. The largest and most populous country in Oceania is Australia, and the largest city is Sydney. Puncak Jaya in Indonesia is the highest peak in Oceania at 4,884 m (16,024 ft). The first settlers of Australia, New Guinea, and the large islands just to the east arrived more than 60,000 years ago. Oceania was first explored by Europeans from the 16th century onward. Portuguese explorers, between 1512 and 1526, reached the Tanimbar Islands, some of the Caroline Islands and west New Guinea. Spanish and Dutch explorers followed, then British and French. On his first voyage in the 18th century, James Cook, who later arrived at the highly developed Hawaiian Islands, went to Tahiti and followed the east coast of Australia for the first time. The arrival of European settlers in subsequent centuries resulted in a significant alteration in the social and political landscape of Oceania. The Pacific theatre saw major action during the First and Second World Wars. The rock art of Aboriginal Australians is the longest continuously practiced artistic tradition in the world. Most Oceanian countries are parliamentary democracies, with tourism serving as a large source of income for the Pacific island nations.
