I respect Eminem as a white rapper because he doesn't even try to be gangsta. Even though he's from the hood in Detroit, he doesn't mention it at all. But here you have Paul Wall, trying to be a g as evidenced on the album cover. This is not something a respectable person would buy.

ill put it plain and simple right here...i like every song on this cd. I dont care if hes white, sold out, raps about the same stuff mike jones and slim thug do (although hes waaay more talented than mike jones in almost every facet of rap and ahead of slim thug as well), or anything else. The real point is that i enjoyed listening to all these songs so if you want songs you're going to like, buy it. If it really matters to you that he make a political statement or raps about something new and original, miss out.

It has a few of good songs, but the range of lyrics is too wide spread from his childhood and his emotional life to smoking weed and picking up girls for one night

I love this album sooo much lol! I just love the lyrics, the beats, his flow and style... Paul Wall is just as good as Eminem in my opinion and he really deserves more credit, but at least he proved his skills by making this album go platinum lol :) Lyrics 8.5/10 Flow 9.5/10 Hooks/Catchiness 7/10 Beats 10/10 Overall I give it a 10/10

I'm A Playa: Three 6 Mafia's production is refreshing and a great entrance for Paul Wall. 3.5/5 They Don't Know: Great production, Paul Wall's description of Houston is nicely done with Bun B. Mike Jones doesn't appear on this one like the video. 4.5/5 Ridin Dirty: Organ grooved "Ridin Dirty" is smooth and one to just ride to. Trey Songz has a great hook. 3.5/5 State To State: Freeway has a decent hook and verse on this uptempo banger. 3/5 So Many Diamonds: Khao's smooth and ride worthy production is fitting, as T.I. makes a smooth hook and verse. Solid track. 3.5/5 Smooth Operator: Production sounded similar to another track (can't remember), anyway it's smooth and decent. 3/5 Sittin Sidewayz: Synths along with a chopped and screwed hook make this banger successful. Big Pokey has a decent verse, and adds a different flavor to the track. 4/5 Internet Going Nutz: Decent beat, Paul describes all the hotties he finds on the web, nicely crafted. 3.5/5 Trill: Menacing production, Bun B and B.G. join along for this tough ode to being Trill. 3/5 Sippin Tha Barre: Mr. Lee's production is excellent and the hook is fitting, organs are smooth and Paul Wall does a nice job as well. 4/5 Drive Slow: Kanye's production is perfect to roll to, good hook. Great track, also on Late Registration. 4/5 March N Step: Skipper. 2.5/5 Got Plex: Swishahouse artists Cootabang and Archie Lee appear, skipper. 2.5/5 Girl: Great sped up sample of the Chi-Lites "Oh Girl", Paul Wall's lyrics is are good too. 5/5 Big Ballin: Banger that is good. Hot track. 4/5 Sip N Get High: Aqualeo has decent verse but the hook is annoying. Skipper. 2/5 Just Paul Wall: Reflective track that has a great beat by Grid Iron. Really likeable track here. 4/5 Paul Wall's debut is a big party filled with tracks that have some good production. "I'm A Playa" was a great start, "They Don't Know" let's you know what H-Town's all about. "So Many Diamonds", "Ridin Dirty", "Smooth Operator" are all smoothly done, "Sippin Tha Barre" is the feel good track. "Girl" is a great sped up sample and "Just Paul Wall" is the heart warming description of his past. Good debut, H-Towners will love it and some other hip hop heads. Rating 7 out of 10

Paul Wall rolls into the hip-hop world with his first big album "The Peoples Champ". This album deliver s a bunch of really cool songs and beats with a lot of other rappers that have already proven themselves. With songs like Girl, Sittin Sidewayz, They Don't Know, Drive Slow & Trill, its a must have for rap fans lookin for somthin' new!

Paul Wall does not posses the greatness of Eminem, BIG, or 2Pac. But give him some credit, folks. He's decent. Better than Chamillionaire, Kanye West, or Yung Joc. He's got a good career ahead of him for the most part.

Look I understand Sittin' Sidewayz was pretty popular and it did become somewhat of a mainstream hit. That said, I actually liked that song, I hate mainstream music, mainstream hip hop especially. But the production on Sittin Sidewayz was very good the lyrics were B- lyrics but still solid enough to hang with the beat. You listen to the rest of this album and it is utterly annoying trash, Hip Hop was already terrible in 2005, but there weren't enough people out there trying to put good music out there (I mean big labels especially). But I will always remember sittin sidewayz being 17 and still digging it today. Oh well, long live the villain.

i just read the lyrics to this album. there is absolutely NO DEPTH! every single song is about drinking smoking getting girls and selling drugs. the one song that even tries to go deeper is the one called "Just Paul Wall." AND HE'S NOT HUMBLE! in the song "just paul wall" he says he's the greatest right in the chorus!!

This is the best album Paul Wall has made up to date. Yes this is way better than Chick Magnet and Get Money Stay True. This is actually the first entire album I ever bought off iTunes. It wasn't nothing to get all excited about it was a couple of songs I could ride to.

I use to listen to rap and this guy, but not anymore! Rap has way too many profanities, and way too much sex, violent and drug talk. That is why I switched to hard rock, heavy metal, pop and country. these genre's of music have less to none of this and it surely doesn't talk about getting rich, hustling, or the "streets". If you buy this genre of music, you have just wasted your money! It is no longer in style for most people including myself!

Dude, that song sounds likes it's drilled-n-chopped in the regular album. I like the screwed-n-chopped version of it because it was meant to be a slow song and plus it sounds more better that way. Oh well, at least Paul Wall's got a good flow in that song. 4 points.
