‘Bouquet’ gave us the sweet fragrance of ‘Roses,’ but not any other outstanding hits. However, ‘Collage’ makes a bigger impact to the pop scene. ‘Setting Fires’ was one of my favourite songs during summer 2016/17, with memorable vocal hook. And while ‘All We Know’ featured Emily Warren and the classic synth sound of The Chainsmokers, the two big powerhouses have to be ‘Closer’ (feat. Halsey) and ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ (feat. Daya). ‘Closer’ may be the classic Chainsmokers template (start slow, add drumbeat, repeat lyrics, drop EDM or synth instrumental hook) but there’s no denying how successful this song is. The electronic vocal effect/EDM style is the modern movement in this moment of time and the duo nail this with class. And once they create this number #1 banger, they push the boundaries of pop by playing more to their strengths - hard EDM. Musically provocative, it creates the perfect backdrop to a raunchy nightclub, particularly in the hook. However, Daya’s vocals are satisfying and almost raw if it wasn’t for the musical effect. The only criticism with the EP is the song ‘Inside Out’ which isn’t all that interesting. This EP is a Chainsmokers essential if you look to stock up on some of the duo’s hits.

Why do like half of the reviewers dislike it. Closer & Don't let me down are GREAT-10/10 Setting fires is very good, but a little annoying in certain parts. -9.5/10 All we know is a little creepy, which is fine by me and annoying in certain parts. Vocals are fine but need strengthening. -9/10 Inside out is somewhat slow, which isn't terrible, but gets better then gets annoying later. -8.5/10 So, I'm not trying to violate your opinion, but I really dislike that the haters are taking over. 😡

I love the Chainsmokers! Their music is amazing and of course very catchy. "Closer" and "Don't Let Me Down" are both 2016 hits, but I feel them both as recent! LISTEN AND SEE!

i'm so confused as to why "closer" became a hit? nothing against halsey, she's a talented artist but i felt like lyric wise and production wise, this song could've been better. all the other songs sound the same, except "don't let me down" which i love. honestly, the two stars go to that one song with days. i hope chainsmokers works harder next time...

Considering how popular this duo has become, I don't see how in any way shape or form this EP positively contributes to the progression of pop music or EDM. Very remedial, very lazy. I think Esquire were spot-on when they dubbed The Chainsmokers as the Nickleback of EDM.

In my opinion, I only like Don't Let Me Down because daya is in it, but the rest is just very disappointing especially Closer. I don't understand Closer because all it's talking about is Rovers and how someone can't afford and biting tattoos like WTH.
