Here’s how it went.. Saw they had an album in the new release section. I’ve heard the name, never actually heard them. Decided to play a single sample, jaw dropped 5 seconds in. Purchased album, played song I sampled first (it was initially a random selection). Eyes watered, sent the song to my dad, he was floored also.

Every song seemingly sounds the same. Nothing stands out. Nothing rocks. Just a lot of slow paced whaling a screeching vocals. I know they can do better.

You can really see the improvement they have made this on this album, from the Josh’s haunting voice to Jake’s catchy riffs. The album is like a beautiful story enriched in metaphors that explores philosophical matters. While a lot the songs are longer, they never feel like they’re dragging.

Pre-ordered this album back when they first released the first song. I was blown away by it, and excited to hear the rest. So happy to have this album as my new ear worm. Totally worth the wait.

I purchased the tie dye vinyl from the bands website, and the digital format via iTunes. The vinyl sounds 10x better. The few reviews I've read online seemed as though the listener was a bit confused; drawn in (can't stop listening), drawn out (fingers in ears), and this seemed to be focused on Josh's vocal range. I listened to the digital copy at home on the same speakers that I listened to the vinyl on, and the vinyl is so much more enjoyable. There is so much depth and energy and the vocals translate brilliantly through the vinyl. The digital format just doesn't cut it, and seems over bearing at times. With that said, after the listening to side A of the vinyl I texted a friend and said this was hands down one of the best introductions to an album in a very long time! You wil enjoy this tremendous effort by Greta Van Fleet, but you'll enjoy even more on vinyl. I'll save the digital copy for my car.

Can’t stop listening to it!

Second coming of Zep isn't really that bad is it? The main difference is that this guy drumming is no Bonzo. Good tunes.

Forget the comparisons..just enjoy what is a great album that further cements this talented band as a premier rock act.

I really dig this album. The deeper lyrics combined with the better production and song writing makes this their most exciting album. It’s not as good as their first ep/album but better than Athems. This is a really fun album. Kudos to Josh and the boys. Great work!

Amazing voice great tunes

I highly recommend this album of great rock from a great band of talented musicians and song writers. I loved their first offerings and this new album exceeds my expectations in every way... musically, lyrically and sound quality. It is a must buy and must listen to album - best of 2021 for sure...

This album builds a unique sound with complex arrangements. Songs have a original sound and rises GVF to higher stardom. If anyone misses Zeppelin, Rush, or Yes, get all GVF albums. You will be glad you did. GVF rocks, motherf@ckers!

Such an amazing album

Sorry, I cannot get into the vibe of this band. No doubt they are talented musicians but I wish they would find their swim lane; their 21st century sound, rather than coming across like a tribute band to the grand sounds of the 70’s.

With every album, Greta Van Fleet further develops their own sound and style. The name comes with a lot of expectations, but just listen to the album for yourself. It is a great piece of music from beginning to end. And don’t sleep on “trip the light fantastic”, one of my favorite tracks. Buy it nerd.

You know it’s good but they dialed it way back the first couple albums were very upbeat happy dance around songs you can jump to just fun this one is way more chilling like they got stoned and wrote it not a bad thing just different and not something I can put on repeat I gave it a listen and just a couple songs I went back too but on a high note least there talented enough to not just redo what made them money good job guys

Being born in the late 90’s, I’ve never really experienced the energy around a great new rock n roll album until now. I’ve been following GVF since the released their first EP, and have loved every second of it. Keep up the good work fellas!

Instrumentally & the songwriting aspects are truly breathtaking. Not too many artists that write and play instruments to an entire album anymore. So glad to see these men keeping their values and beliefs. Very different and refreshing!

When I first saw this group on SNL they looked scary af. I don’t see their talent. The lead singer? I thought it was a deranged woman. They’re gross. I don’t like them, their music, and they’re offering nothing to the music scene in originality. Piss of GVF!

Can we stop with the comparisons. And let’s be real. Greta Van Fleet isn’t reinventing the wheel. What they are doing is paying homage to the great artists that came before them and keeping their classic sound alive for today’s Rock n Roll enthusiasts. If you can’t appreciate this album then go listen to something else and stop your complaining.

Been a fan of their music since 2017 and they just keep getting better and better! This album is a MASTERPIECE. The instruments are heavy and Josh's voice is pure and clear! Definitely a powerful album. So proud of Greta Van Fleet!

rock and roll lives on

I like the hard rock attitude but they are still trying to sound like something they are not and when they finally let go of that they might be able to form an original sound. Also the lead singer shrieks on every track. Maybe we can get to hear his actual singing voice some day?

This is a right direction moving forward to improvement. It's not great given the overwhelming use of long songs but couple of great songs with powerful lyrics make up for its flaws. Even stronger than its predecessor album and stepping out of their comfort zone from being less of Led Zeppelin. This makes have faith for Greta continuing their path as they improve their sound and try new things while still keeping a nice throwback to 70s rock.

Fabulous song! I love the vibe. Good music from a fresh perspective. I love this song!! This band is a real rock band! Yes, they have some serious fascination with the Led Zeppelin sound, so what? Like another review said, everyone is influenced by someone. Come on, stop hating and be glad someone is putting out some serious rock music once again!! I love it!

Great album front to back. Concepts lyrics sound are all great. This record feels like rock from the 70s evolved into the future.
