Chris Daughtry was widely picked as the likely winner of his Idol season but his fourth place was probably a blessing, it has given him far greater freedom as an artist than any first place finish would have. His talents as a songwriter are the real star of this debut record, future Idol talents take note: the audience warms to an artist who shows depth and a willingness to take control of their own destiny. While the album suffers from a slight bout of sameness (not helped by Daughtry's rather mono-tonal voice) its solidness cannot be denied - the singles It's Not Over and Home are standouts as is the powerful All These Lives. Once Chris learns to stop taking everything so seriously (really, calling a band after yourself, using capitals to spell your name?) he will be truly great artist.

Very good album Best songs would be 1)Crashed (But the best one I think is the acoustic version. It definatly is 1 of the best songs on the album but it can only be purchased through the single) 2)Feels Like Tonight 3)It's Not Over In That Order

a very impressive debut from an ex idol... the standout tracks include: It's not over, Used to, Home, Crashed, Over you, and Gone

After being a huge fan of Chris from his American Idol appearance I was very glad when he formed a band and put out a record. Far from being disappointed this album has surpassed my expectations in both the quality of songs and Chris's voice. It's brilliant.

Whoever doesn't like Daughtry has no taste for real music. They are probably the trashy fake people who like overplayed crap like the Black Eyed Peas!!! Keep it up Chris this is amazing!

It takes a lot tobmake a great rock album. Veriety, emotion, and just plain skill. Very rarly does a groups debut album have all of this. But daughtry has as the old saying goes hit head of the nail. My apologies if I didn't get that saying right but that's my over all review. Can't stop listening to it.

This album is awesome! I'm obsessed with it. I listen to it a million times and never get tired of it. Daughtry has done good! It's totally worth the money. I wish I could rate this 1 million stars! Also buy Leave This Town if you like this album - Daughtry does not disappoint! Daughtry rocks!!

If there was ever a made for radio CD , this is it. I bought the album because of the $8 price and the buzz generated by Daughtry. I like the 80's-90's rock but took a chance on this one. Every song sounds the same, there is little originality or creativity on this album. I deleted all but 4 songs from my mp-3 player.

Daughtry is an amazing artist && I just LOVE his voice! He has && definitely will go very far :D

Keep up the good work like this, Daughtry! I can see myself listening to this for a long time. I know it has almost been 4 years since its release but this ENTIRE album is GREAT. Every single one of these songs are hits! I bought this album on itunes so I knew I would have it in great sound quality! :-)

This is one of his best albums with home and the other. One I suggest getting is September great song

I've enjoyed this song for a little over a year now on the CD available from my local library, but this is the first time I've considered searching for it on iTunes and I was very happy to find it there to purchase. It has a great rhythm with a soft tone in the right places, rising in pitch and volume as it should and without becoming grating on the ears. I recommand Crashed to anyone who enjoys rock, soft rock, or maybe pop music.

Definitely the best thing to come from American Idol. Sorry to those that think this music is boring. Saw him in concert and he and the band put on an amazing show. My only complaint is the inability to buy the track "Sorry" by itself since I have already purchsed both the standard and deluxe CDs. I wish iTunes would enable the purchase of the track by itself so I don't have to spend another $10 for the one song

An amazing cd! Why Taylor Hicks won that season of american idol over Daughtry ill never understand! So many great songs with a great beat.

I was expecting Daughtry to have more songs like "What I Want"...but it just hasn't been the case in the last three albums. Why??? The ballads are great, but the other cuts are so-so and bands like Nickelback do it better. Maybe he should just hire Slash full time to play guitar for him, lol.
