Never has there been a better album by anyone
One of the best albums of all time.
Great album, but disappointed with the quality. Could have been better.
The best of the best albums:D
Beyond perfection.
This is by far one of the greatest albums ever written amd no matter how old it is the songs will always be great
One of the finest albums ever written and produced. Go Your Own way is amazing - written when Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks split and yet they still sang this together. The whole album flows. This album tells a story, as such, this type of album will go away. Today's music of buying one song at a time will make album story telling a thing of the past. Sad........
When times go bad, and times go rough lay me in the tall grass with this masterpiece :) 5 of the most talented musicians and one of the most amazing albums of all time. Anyone and everyone can relate to at least one Rumours song. And this band; they are my life <3
Amazing album! SNL recently did I Don't Want To know
One of the best albums ever created!
I had Rumors on 8-track in my 1968 Camaro! That's dating me but I wore that thing out and the speakers in my car!! I have it on CD and my iPhone now. I saw them in 1976 and they are still one of the best rock bands of all time!
I
Easily one of the greatest albums of all time. And that's coming from a guy who mostly listens to Aerosmith, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Van Halen, harder stuff. Buy it.
Just one of the BEST ever!!!!!
The rare album where the drama behind the scenes translated into genius on the record. This one pulsates with raw emotion start to finish. A microcasm of a relationship beginning to end (but not in order) ,Such is Life #HAF
I can listen to this all day! It's just amazing... 70's music never gets old!
Fleetwood Mac is the only band I have ever experienced that has conquered different stylistic changes flawlessly. This album deserves its title as one of the best selling albums of all time. The writing is exceptional, the harmony is exquisite, and the story is fascinating.
Best album I have ever heard.
Incredible album
One of the best albums and bands off all time, if not THE best band and album of all time! This record is ageless- defiantly my favorite.
This album is great from top to bottom. So great fleetwood Mac could never even come close to matching the success of this album. If you don't have this in your collection you don't know what your missing.
this is the best album of all time. all the songs on this album are amazing. I'm 14 and i can honestly say this is one of my favorite albums.
I've never gravitated to a specific group or performer. I have a huge library of film scores which I primarily use in work. But this album is one I've always had since the 1970's, whether vinyl, 8-track, casette or download. It's just that good, really.
I don't usually write reviews. Like, ever. But I am obsessed with this album and band. I grew up listening to this, and always loved it, but only recently I have fallen truly in love. The emotional trauma and work that must have gone into this album as they were all divorcing and breaking up produced some of the most emotionally-charged music I've ever heard. The lyrics and songwriting is mystical, meaningful, and beautiful. Stevie Nick's throaty, strong, sexy voice is possibly the best thing I've ever heard. Lindsey Buckingham is so talented with the guitar. And of course, much love for Christine McVie/ Perfect, Mick Fleetwood, and John McVie. Thank you all so much for making this music. On a side note, I am a teen and no, we do not all listen to terrible pop music.
Track 3 and 9 are my favorites
AMAZING GO FLEETWOOD MAC
Perfectly classic. What all records aspire to be.
Even though I didn't grow up in the '70s, this definitely deserved the Grammy for Best Album. It is what makes Fleetwood Mac an awesome band. There is not a bad song on here, and each one tells a story. Go Your Own Way, Dreams, Don't Stop, You Make Loving Fun, The Chain, and Gold Dust Woman are the best tracks. In fact, it's most of their biggest hits. Along with other great songs like Songbird, Second Hand News, and Never Going Back Again, this album is just flawless. It is Fleetwood Mac's best and should be passed down from generation to generation. Even though Glee pretty much butchered these classics, it has given others a chance to discover the originals. Thanks for making this great music, guys. You rock!
True then, true today , and true in the future. That defines a classic!
Awesome album!! One of the best ever made! Every music fan should own a copy of this amazing album!!! Buy it!!!!
Just…just ….so Just ….well!!!!! Perfect!
From the period of one word albums, either first efforts or, as in this case, a "certain direction" (per the band), something unique happened that I just appreciate more over time. Someone once asked me if that wasn't the album from "like 20 years ago?" to which I thought, well, yes, "the" or "an" album from late 70s / early 80s with very talented musicians playing so joyfully together. By over time, i mean appreciating the talent and way in which it's so symbiotically applied so the tasty guitar licks come sparsely but subtly you might not notice, and it feels like a live take (per the 2013 documentary on LA's "Studio City" and its 1 of 4 in the world Neve console). To add the memories from that part of my life brings it back, and holds more in store for a mixture of emotions and insights that come from real life over time. One example, besides the classical relationships and human condition archetypes, not to diminish that, is the space each member leaves for the others. And the bass player, quite tall, was a guest starter for our rowing team in Marina del Rey, with his height and position, clearly seen by all, added a palatable sense spice to our already superbly motivated Varsity Eight shell. Just one of those moments that makes it more personable. Wish we'd all had more time to meet and speak, but the essence is, there's not a song on the album that isn't ingrained for me, and I'd think for others that enjoy fine musicianship, live feeling, and meaningful songs.
Best concert in birmingham 1978 omg
Who can top these guys?
Lindsey Buckingham's magnum opus...this is truly a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, and still stands alone in its genre. Their amazing live albums and other covers continue the legend of this greatness. Thanks 'Mac and please keep your art flowing.
I wore the vinyl album out from listening to everyday when I was a teenager!!!!
Great album, almost makes me feels like I'm back in high school again. ;)
It just is. Never get tired of this
This one is still good, though. I Don't Want to Know is a CLASSIC.
Quite simply, the best album in the history of rock and roll. It still stands but must be listened to in the original track order. A masterpiece.
One of if not the best albums ever recorded. No fillers; every song is fabulous.
My mother used to play this album constantly when I was growing up. Brings some of the greatest memories that will never happen again. Stevie Nicks is a Queen.
I just love Fleetwood Mac and this is by far my favorite album. It's just perfection.
Rumours was, is and always will be the greatest album of all time regardless of musical genre or individual taste. When taken into consideration the break-ups and divorces that the band was dealing with before and during the making of this album (not to mention the substance abuse) it is amazing to think what they were able to accomplish. The songwriting, production and vocal harmonies are absolutely briliant. Rumours is made even greater by the fact that their previous album, the first with Stevie & Lindsey, was a smash hit also. How many times have we seen bands or artists struggle to follow up a smash album with something even close in terms of quality or success. Yet the Mac comes back and blows their previous recording out of the water with Rumours. I'll stop rambling and leave you with this..Tusk, in and of itself was a pretty solid album, but when released as the album that followed Rumours it was considered a failure.
Back when vinyl was the format of choice I would usually track one or both sides of a record each time I chose to listen to a record. After tracking the record a few times I would develop a “sonic” memory of the songs and the order they are tracked in. Years later buying the digital version of the album that “sonic” memory from 1977 comes rushing back and my brain excites with the knowledge of what song is to play next on the record. “Rumors” means 1977 which means high school senior year. There was good and bad at that time of my life but music was the glue that held everything together. Don’t hesitate to buy this record (with all of the tracks) if you are missing any part of it. When the music police come to visit you, not owning this record could mean bad mo-jo for you!
I met my first wife listening to a 8-track of Rumours she had in her car. I was so impress with the sound and music, that we listen to the whole tape holding hands.
An all time greaaaaat album, and one of the best shows I've seen live. Buckingham is a beast guitar player who is highly underrated!!!!!
Their music Is and always will be the greatest !!!!
Hotel California deserved best album of the year
One of THE best rock albums of All Times. Not many people understand why I have an obsession with a 70s band when I was born in 96. It's all in the lyrics. As Christine McVie once said "the music revolves around the lyrics, not vice versa." And those words ring true, for so many albums but especially this one. This album alone has helped me get through many many tough times in my life that other music just couldn't do, and for that, I will forever be greatful. <3
