These guys are so much fun. Listen: for those of you awash in hateful confusion, there is a MASSIVE difference between being shaped by classic bands of influence, tributes, and outright plagiarism. This is a group of wonderfully talented musicians who have made a classic sound their own. Successful tribute bands are remarkably talented musicians who don’t perform original music. Plagiarists are rip-off artists. Bands who are influenced by the canon of classic work are ORIGINAL artists who utilize previous genius as a stepping stone from which to bring their own artistic message to the world. Eddie Van Halen didn’t rip-off Beethoven when he tapped out Eruption. He brought his own vision to historic brilliance. I love the interviews these guys give. They appear wonderfully immune to the negativity out there. I for one will throw as much money in support of this kind of talent as I can. I just bought a t-shirt too. Ha!! This stuff is just sonically wonderful. It makes me feel good to listen these guys. Stop hating, start rocking.
Their first release had a few awesome songs, the second one, even less. This one, not a single song does a thing for me. Over the top vocal mastering (way too much studio, he's better than that), good solid band, okay’ish melodies (at best).
Great music. Terrible vocals.
Everyone told me this band was gonna bring in a new era of hard rock and I wasnt entirely sold. I thought they had to the potential to get there, but they still just didnt really have their own sound. This album took me from that opinion to a full blown believer. To me this is the album where they established their real sound, and I’m 100% on board with it. This is an instant classic and something I’ll be showing my children one day alongside some of the greats they’re paying homage to. 10/10 cant wait to see where they go from here.
The more times you listen the deeper you fall. Simply beautiful put together. Thank you for giving me a sound to get carried away into.
Yes! This is what music needed. Fun rock n roll. The boys came back and still had the LZ Emulator in tow, but kept it running at turtle. I heard bits of 90's rock, Pearl Jam ten drum sounds, Ed Kowalczyk-esuqe voceals on stardust chords, I heard Heart, Rush and you know what. That is a great thing. But the main thing about this album is, its not any of those other bands. It's pure GVF. The song structure, the lyrics, the fancy guitar work, the heavy pounding on the kit, the tinkle of heavenly keys, diversity in song styles, PERFECT opening and closing tracks...it's all here. J does bang out the screams, and i admit it is an acquired taste, but like key lime pie in natural born killers, im mick' eating it up. my fave is...trip the light fantastic
Hop in your car! Roll the windows down! Crank up the stereo! And drive!
I like the voice
These 4 guys are so talented. Josh has a powerful yet beautiful voice. Jake you are the best guitar player in the industry. Sam I love to listen to your playing all the keys. Danny….wow!!! Top of the drum world!! Best album in years👏👏👏👏
I LOVE this band!!! The instruments, the vocals, the lyrics, this is REAL music. Something I haven’t heard much in this modern age. Keep it up🙌
It has been a while since a song stopped me in my tracks. I haven’t heard the whole album yet, but when I “heat above” I immediately fell in love. So much power and talent !
Beautifully crafted sonic journey, make this one part of your library. The influences from the past have been refined into their own voice, absolutely fantastic.
To tha no no no. Seriously, no.
Masterful album. Their soul is in their craftsmanship as muscians, and in that place is where it fully resides. There is still something to figure out with GVF. They havn't unfolded into their blossom yet, they are in that process. And it is TOUGH to deeply love them if you had that pure authentic dose of LZ growing up. (The similarity is seriously undeniable, and yes, PITCHFORK hit them hard) ... but For GVF, at this stage, their music doesn't come from their soul as much as their soul is a manifestation of THIS KIND of music. They are like a dedicated fantasy rock-philharmonic band of brothers. Interesting future sailing ahead in their Caravel, and I'm on board to see where it goes.
All I have to say is chefs kiss pure perfection
I stopped listening to anything new just because it seemed so canned and artificial. No real talent needed. I found these guys watching TikTok approx 3 weeks ago. I have since downloaded every album and it’s all I listen to. I’m absolutely in love. I just wish I could go back in time and listen to Age of Machine or Age of Man for the first time again. Blown away, a sound that gave me goosebumps.
Just a cheap imitation of Rush and Zeppelin
yes this album is god go listen 🙈🤪
this is the perfect follow up to their last album and the songs are ready to be played on tour (hint hint)
I haven’t stopped listening to it since it came out! Love it!
If I wanted Led Zeppelin I would go buy Led Zeppelin. This is atrocious.
Greta Van Fleet is bringing a mixture of classic rock and modern rock to the world. This band is just phenomenal from the vocals to the guitar, everything blends together nicely.
Please fix your sound. The drums sound flat and the mix buries the guitars at times. GVF has huge potential to be a super star band. I love their passion and energy and great songs, just please fix the sound.
A big improvement over the last album. Not a bad song on here.
As a whole this album is better than the first two. It is a more mature sound, though lacking some of the roof raising licks and hooks in the other albums. To me the song writing and overall sound is enjoyable from start to finish.
this album is so beautiful i don’t think there’s a word for it. maybe fantasmagorical. it’s helped me find my own voice, expand my perspectives on many things including music, and inspired me to learn guitar. GVF’s songs will change the world. one love 💛
Loved it just as good or better than other albums
This is the best rock band in the world right now, with apologies to the forever on hiatus Black Country Communion. Forget the Zep comparisons. With close to 70 years of rock recordings, everything reminds one of something. Just enjoy!
Love GVF and their sound. This is easily their greasiest album and that’s saying something because their previous albums were phenomenal.
These guys are bringing rock n roll back!
This bad is straight trash, go steal some other band’s identity and try to pull it off 50 years later, not the best band in history! They are the biggest losers ever!
These guys are amazing. No one can tell me otherwise.
… was listening to whoever told them to sound less “on the nose” Zeppelin after that debut EP, because that recording is still played to death on my devices, it’s so well performed. After that, the lead vocalist noticeably left behind a lot of the subtle inflection and moodiness that made him such a great doppelgänger to Plant. I get it, be original, but when your band can emulate a giant like Zeppelin that well, in an age where everything is AutoTuned, techno garbage, to turn into a screeching lunatic because of the critics is just tragic. There’s nothing exceptional about any of the follow ups to the EP. Their best work is bringing the Zeppelin sound into the 2020s. They caught lightning in a bother once, they can do it again if they stop trying so hard to be “original”. They don’t need to reinvent the wheel, just update the frame of the car.
These guys are awesome they keep getting better and better with every song
I hear a little Triumph in them too. Not complaining, it’s a compliment.
All I can say is I’ve not heard a band like this ( they rock)
.
This has to be the best modern rock album I have ever listened to. The vocals, guitar, drumming. Everything is perfect. The whole vibe of the album is amazing. Every album they have topped their previous. Only a sample of what is to come from this band. If you love classic rock you will love this album
you cant skip any song on this album, all their songs are so good. caravel, built by nations, age of machine, heat above, etc. and don’t forget THE WEIGHT OF DREAMS!!
This album is the perfect combination of what was best in classic rock and the creativity of modern rock. Up and down the lineup, it’s great song writing and shows this band at its current peak
This album is a masterpiece. All I gotta say
What a great album! From the opening note of 'Heat Above' and build to resolution on the same, you know that this is the good stuff. The whole album just continues to build and deliver from there. Seriously, there is not a bad song on this one. It is all together GVF mixed with a clear homage to Led Zepplin on several tracks. Don't think that they are just trying to mimic Zepplin. They are carving their own musical legacy and this album is probably their finest work to date. Did I say there isn't a bad song in the mix? Well, let me say it again. I can listen to this one on repeat and be happy. Is there a favorite? Wow, hard to say. 'Tears of Rain' is beautifully deep. 'Age of Machine' is just epic. Pick any song and it shines in it's own way. Go ahead and hit the buy button...
Excellent step in the direction they want to go. Some do sound more Zeppelin but I fail to see how thats bad. I would like to hear some more blues in their next album. Amazon work from a band still extremely early in their careers
(That’s all)
Hands down the best album I’ve ever heard. No skips at all!
What an album. Best of Greta so far and best I’ve heard in a while. Rock on!
Incredible
This is my favorite album by any artist I’ve known. I knew it would be good but omg this was 100000x better than I thought!!! People say they are mocking Led Zeppelin but all they are doing is taking Josh’s beautiful voice and turning it into something more beautiful. They are no longer trying to be like Led Zeppelin.
I kept hearing about this band, so I gave a listen. Uh, no thank you. Music is solid enough, though unsure about the frequent comparison to Led Zeppelin, LZ were far superior musicians. What I can’t really can’t get past is Josh Kiszka’s vocals. Far too shrill. FAR to shrill. Finally get into the music, then the ice pick in the ear screech of that voice.
Everything about this band is amazing ! Bringing back rock and can’t wait for more albums !!

Thought it was pretty great. One minor comment I’d make is that there are a couple specific songs like Heat Above and Light My Love that I did particularly enjoy, but to the point that they overshadowed most of the other songs, which made the rest of the album a little less memorable. Really though that’s a personal gripe. I like albums to be consistent or ramp up. At the end of the day I’m here for their sound, and I think it might be the best here that it’s ever been. I love Josh’s screams but hearing him stray more into falsetto territory is fresh. Overall I’d probably give it more like a 3.5/5, but this one hits a little personally for me so I’ll round up. Definitely check it out.
These young guys will be a major rock band in the near future. This album is one cornerstone in their journey and they have lot of room to grow and evolve. Good job for the third album. I feel they need additional guitarist, jack is taking too much burden over his shoulders.
Love this collection of songs. New music using classic rock and roll with bluesy roots. It reminds me of all the classic rock n roll sounds that I loved as youth. I can’t wait to see where these young guys go in the future. Keep it up boys rock and roll for ever. Thanks.
Personally “My way soon” is worth the cost of the whole album, that song is rockin, happy and classic all at the same time. The rest of the albums almost sounds identical. I love the fact that the classic rock sound is being brought back by these guys, but I find this underwhelming, I look forward to their next works! Keep it up guys.
The lyrics and vocal melodies aren’t as memorable this time around though.
Absolute master piece
I think this could be best album so for, well that’s my opinion.
This is a Masterpiece. Saw them as they Opened for the Foo Fighters a few Summers ago in July at RBC Bluesfest here in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and I wished they had enough music out to have Foo Fighters open for them 😀. At first I though this was Robert Plant’s new Band and he was the Lead Singer and when I found out that wasn’t the case, I was blown away at how much they sounded like the new Led Zeppelin, lol 😂. This Album is one of the Best New Albums of 2021 I have heard so far 😍. Greta Van Fleet knows how to Rock and Roll 😀
The first two albums are much better. This just seems too forced. Most bands either evolve or change up their sound....this, in my opinion, was a little regression.
For those wondering if it’s a good album. It’s amazing. If you’re prone to getting lost in your thoughts in illusive day dreams then this is the album for you. Spanning around 65 minutes this album takes you on a journey with themes consisting of war, the threat of destruction, nature, and biblical references. Now a quick word to the one star people You guys are the ones who disliked their past sound and now you are wishing it was back?? Artists grow, and they absolutely have. You act like having old influences is a bad thing while you sit at home wishing for music from the past decades. In a lot of you peoples eyes you just won’t let them win. It’s fine it’s your opinion. However, no one is sitting you down and forcing you to listen. Peace love unity & equality
10/10
Suddenly these guys decide that they are some some sort of progressive rock band...I would rather listen to chalk screeching on a blackboard than listen to the lead singer....they lost the fun and became posers...
The best band around atm. I m 50 and this brings back memories of what was good music. Keep it up.
I love this band and from the few songs available, it sounds like it’s going to be a great album. Pre-ordered my copy already and very happy with the songs included with the pre order!
Stumbled upon this band on Youtube. Blew my mind. Reminiscent of some of the best bands of the 70s, but not a rip off. These guys have their own sound and voice. There is a lot of depth and spirituality to the music. Sometimes is shares a quest for love, peace, unity, healing. Other times it's just fun. It's very life-giving and inspiring. Thank you Greta Van Fleet!
Love what I am hearing so far, good ol' rock and roll. Big fan of Greta Van Fleet!!!!
This band is releasing consistently awesome music. My Way, Soon is proof that they’re really starting to develop their sound, and Age of Machine is a mystical, musical journey. I look forward to the full release of this album.
I’ve been a big fan of this band for a hot minute, and I’ve enjoyed their albums in the past! So far Age of Man and My Way, Soon have been mediocre, but I hope the album will contain many bangers!
These guys are great! Clearly the old heads are sour, but I never got to experience this in the “70’s” so as a 90’s kid, I LOVE IT!
Where are my ear plugs !
There's been much talk about Greta Van Fleet and comparisons with other bands from years gone by. Sometimes the comments and comparisons mask the talent and pure joy of the musicianship and the music. I love Van Fleet's previous releases but can honestly say this is my favourite. Every song brings its own enjoyment but Tears of Rain, Built by Nations, Broken Bells stand out. A must for listeners that crave for rock music.
These guys are just talent in every way. GVF are living in 1970 & 2070 with their sound - nobody can match them...

‘The Weight of Dreams’ is the “Stairway” for today. Vocals throughout the album are unique and stunning at times, guitarmanship first class. Remember who they are favourably compared with, and enjoy….
Having had a sound bite of first two released tracks I have to say this sounds much less like other famous bands and is all the better for that. If the other tracks are as good I’ll definitely be going to see GVF next time they visit the UK.
For those that ever wondered what perfection sounded like get some decent headphones and put this on and in just over an hour you’ll know.
Absolutely love the first two tracks. Most anticipated album of the year without doubt
I bought this in good faith having really enjoyed their last albums. Some of the tracks are technically good and well done, but not what I’d call ‘kick you in the teeth rock and roll’ that makes you want to turn the volume up and rock out. Their previous work is better.
This is a brilliant album. I first picked up on Greta Van Fleet on YouTube and started following them. I don’t buy many albums these days as there are a lot of artists out there that either sound like each other or are one hit wonders. I listened to a couple of tracks on Apple and was immediately hooked on Greta Van Fleet. They are original, musicianship is excellent as are the vocals. They are not the norm and all the better for it. They have a unique sound which lead me to buy this album and I’m grateful for it. Thanks Greta Van Fleet, and keep on rockin’
Overall this is an excellent album considering all the quite modern bands who generally have one or two decent tracks and the rest is rubbish. GVF are a unique rock band not really like Led Zep but seam to be going places. I’m nearly 70 and I have a very large album collection and this album is without doubt an interesting addition. My family once had an expensive restaurant in the Barbican Plymouth called ‘the Lamplighter’. One evening Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones tuned up on their way to Cornwall. I was very excited. There were four people sitting at a table nearby and I will never forget what they said - ‘who the hell are they’. I replied ‘they are the one and only Gods of Rock and the own their own plane!’. RP, JP and JPJ were well spoken and very polite. I later rushed home and bought my Led Zep albums which they signed.
