I've loved Taj and Ry for about 52 years now. Two great musicians and preservers of great American and World music back together for the first time since 1966. Although, they've shared some stages in between. Then there's Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee - two of the greatest blues originators - and how fitting it is that Taj and Ry chose to pay tribute to them in this simple but eloquent collection

Mighty fine. In his understated way, Cooder is in the pantheon of great guitar players. It's not how fast you play or how loud. For him the song is always the boss and he plays to suit the song. Taj's gritty vocals are his trademark. The boys are a perfect fit and they should do it again. Sooner this time.

Great to hear the "Rising Sons together again after 60 years ,Taj Mahal being olderof the two, sounding a little diminished ( only by his high standards) but being pulled along by the ever - ebullient Cooder.Wonderful stuff played as a tribute to Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, Ry shows the full range of his slide guitar on "Pawn Shop Blues" while both attack from the outset on "My Baby Done Changed the Lock".Recommended.
