I give it a 6/10 rating. It's clear the attempt here was to make sort of like a sequel album to "Music of the Spheres", considering all the similar musical aesthetics and instrumentation decisions that were made, for example the same robot voice intro on both albums and the overall space/nebulous/pad-heavy theme from track to track. As a whole though, just feels it could've been so much better. A missed opportunity. Many of the tracks on "Moon Music" actually makes me feel like I'm listening to discarded B-side tracks from MOTS...because they're really such similar recordings. Honestly, there are maybe 2 or 3 tracks I sorta mildly enjoy at most on the album, but the rest I'm sorry to say is forgettable. Not to mention all the gratuitous low-effort LA-LA-LAs on multiple tracks. I mean, there's a lot! I think that last "hidden track" recording music-wise is beautiful! I love the instrumentation, the melody, the mix, the arrangement. It's amazing. However, the vocals ruin it conclusively for me to the point of cringing. It would have been soooo much better with actual substantial lyrics, but instead all we get is literally nothing but "LA-LA-LAs" throughout the entire song, start to finish. I really wanted to like it, being a big fan of CP for the last 20 years, but after listening to "Moon Music" a couple times, I have determined...its kind of a big let down. I feel like the previous album "Music of the Spheres" is an absolute masterpiece compared to this one.

If you've ever been shopping in a mall store and thought to yourself, "Gee, I kind of like this house music but wish it had better lyrics," Coldplay's Moon Music delivers that. I also think Chris Martin answers the question of what kind of music a grown-up Linus van Pelt would make. Do with that what you will, but I like this album very much.

I wish Man in The Moon was on the album, but that and A Wave 👋 are worth the price alone! Amazing production, great new energy

I love hearing both parts as one whole album. Beautiful theme running through it.

CP keeps doing it. This time a joyful, spiritual, overtly musical offering. I'm loving it.

Karate Kid and Man in the Moon are instant classics!

I was very excited about this album, but Coldplay’s songs are not like the old times anymore. Paradise and Something Just Like You are very upbeat. Unlike WE PRAY, which sounds more like rap than pop, the old music used to be satisfying, sometimes slow like Fix You, but none of the music are as good as the other music Coldplay has written over the years.

Their sound has evolved into something I’m not a fan of unfortunately

I feel ripped off buying Moon Music and the a day latter Moon Music (Full Moon Edition) comes out. I don’t know who’s responsible for doing this so the buck stops a the top. Coldplay that is a COLD shot! Just release all choices at once.

I have listened to Adventure Of A Lifetime, A Sky Full Of Stars, Viva La Vida, and pretty much all of those songs that blew up with popularity. But this album had moon music, the first song, that was FULL of NOTHING, like a FULL MOON. And that song was a copy from my own voice right now, not making a single noise, So that was an elimination. And the rest of the album was about the rating of my review, EXCEPT song 3, we pray; that was the next song of the NEXT ALBUM.

I love this album so much!

I preordered the first version on iTunes, and received it October 4th. The more I listened to Moon Music, the more I loved it, and ultimately wanted a continuation of it. Unbeknownst to me, this version was slated to come out. Bought it. Got the continuation I was seeking. I LOVE IT. Moon Music and certainly, Full Moon are sooooooo much better than Music of the Spheres! Thank you, ColdPlay 🙂

This album is a masterpiece. The band is killing it, the songs are amazing. This could be their best efforts when their full body of work is judged in the future.

Coldplay really had the chance Parachutes through Viva to really be one of the greatest of all time. They settled for becoming bubble-gum pop artists instead ):

Remember when this band was fresh with a definite edge to their sound. I no longer recognize them and it seems they have lost their talent with this inferior sounding dance pop geared for 10 year olds . Sorry guys, I bought all of your early albums but you have morphed into something most adults don’t want to hear. Plastic pop nonsense.
