Penguinicity - question...i heard a rumor that "head" and "munky" from korn worked on this soundtrack. is that true?
ElementalMusic - Incredible! The music in 300 really brought the movie to life.
goodnicknamesweretaken - Great MusicI always believe that music has a great impact on a movie. The same is so with 300 as it would be with any other. While not all the tracks were as intense as I personally believe they should have been, it's still an amazing soundtrack and adds to a great movie.
No name !!!! - OneI only like one of them and that is fever dream yah I don't like the other ones
OurDecember024 - What an album! This album has a wide range of music styles from fast paced battle numbers to slow yet haunting vocal peices which allows each song on its own to captivate you. The range from the erie vocals to intense guitar give lasting entertainment. Hope you enjoy the album as much i do!
300lover - FANTASTIC!!The music in this album is truly great and really connects to the scenes in the movie. I only wish that I could purchase the movie on itunes. It is unavailable on my computer.
likeiwouldtellu - Great score but why the hell can't we get the actual movie?I love 300 one of the best movies ever but can anyone tell me why the movie isn't up on itunes?
Nuclear Pancakes! - Nice try.300's score belongs in the category of "what happened?" Where did this score go wrong? Easy. The bond between Zack Snyder and Tyler Bates was too strong for the director to realize that his collaborator has a varied scope in film music, and it's so minimal, in fact, that Bates had to practically steal music from Elliot Goldenthal's work on Titus -- used in the tracks Returns a King, Come and Get Them, No Mercy, Xerxes' Final Offer and Remember Us (and it's quite funny that they now added the "based upon themes by Elliot Goldenthal" after said tracks to avoid any plagaristic lawsuits that could've been filed).
To say that Bates's work here is merely atmospheric and nothing else would be harsh, but that's what it is. Styles and tones developed by others that seem fitting for the film, yet only indicated profoundly how unoriginal Bates's music is and how his limitations will hold him back in the years to come. Definitely skip 300.
RoobToob - YesGreta movie great music. Whens the movie gonna be available?
McComposer - Ah yes, the industry does have a bright future indeed. . . .. . .that is, if worthless trash like the score for 300 continues to earn praise as a true original soundtrack. Catch the sarcasm? That's only becuase the music for 300 deserves nothing more than all-out ridicule and sarcasm.
Where to begin? Maybe with the fact that approximately twenty to thirty minutes of this album is actually worthy of a listen by a film score fan. If you're a hard rock enthusiast, then you are encouraged to endorse Tyler Bates by purchasing anger-inducing tracks like "The Hot Gates" and "Fever Dream" which, when looked at from the level of a film score, is nothing more than hard rock garbage. If you're a hard rock/metal enthusiast, then you might actually enjoy these portions of the "score", but for film score fans, the approximately twenty to thirty minutes of calmer, instrumential material is what you'll want to concentrate on (at least, twenty to thirty minutes is what it seemed like when watching the movie itself, an all-out collection of rubbish). Throughout this score, Bates ressurects electric guitars and pounding rock drums to give the idea that the movie it accompanies is set in the common era, and these moments contain the type of music that should send your cat skittering out of the room with an offended air about it.
Despite the fact that the hard rock portions of the score are easily the more unlistenable portions of the score, anyone who has heard the scores to a recent epic film (most notably Elliot Goldenthal's "Titus", Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard's "Gladiator", and Gabriel Yared's gorgeous rejected score for Troy) will find plenty of material to be thoroughly outraged at. iTunes fortunately had the respect to observe the fact that in the second, fourth, fourteenth, fifteenth, twenty-first, and twenty-fifth tracks, Bates literally copies Elliot Goldenthal's Titus note for note. On top of that, there are numerous references to a shocking number of other epic-historical film scores. There are flashes of Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard's dynamic score for Gladiator and the outstanding rejected score for Troy by Gabriel Yared.
I could continue all day about the numerous similarities that occur between these scores, and the fact that this is a score that seems to thrive on plagiarism and hard rock rubbish, but I would only be repeating myself, just in different examples. So let me at least warn you: approach 300 with extreme caution. Listen to the samples, listen to Gladiator, Titus, and, if you ever can, Gabriel Yared rejected Troy score, then decide if this is something that you want to waste your money on. If I could give 300 zero stars, I would do so in an instant.
cheesehead1493 - ummm amazingTo really get the full experience of this album u just cant buy a couple songs u have to just get the whole thing, trust me listening to them all back to back is amazing

Tyl1521 - click yes for movieWE NEED AND WANT THE MOVIE 300 PLEASE GIVE IT TO US CLICK YES IF YOU AGREE!!!!!
XykoBunny - BrutalThe movie is brutal and amzing but part of the brutality and epicness is due to the music. Message to the Queen always makes me teary eyed.
SiliconRiot - An amazing musical score....Modern, but it works...and it has all the brutality of the film.
"The Hot Gates" and "To Victory (for Sparta Remix)" are hands down serious crack kick'n action.
thiswillberecorded - Quieter tracksGood album. Two distinct cases of plagiarism (Titus ST, by the way, it spectacular, go listen), been mentioned already. I absolutely -love- 'Cursed by Beauty' and 'Message For The Queen', because they are soft, rich, and rythmic. Very emotional. If you're looking for that insanely awesome female solo vocal that's always in the still, epic scenes, it's in both 'Goodbye My Love' and 'Message For The Queen'.
hanselsohot - Epic Beyond DesriptionThis is one of the most epic soundtracks I've ever heard. Really good stuff, not the normal epic movie genre, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Bleeds emotion and adrenaline. Gold stars for Returns A King, Fever Dream, The Hot Gates, Remember Us, and To Victory.
ZEAL0T69 - Glorious!!!!!!Totally epic and favorite soundtrack of all time. Hot Gates and Returns a king are my personal facorites
Fool Man 35 - THREE HUNDRED IS AWESOMeITS THE BEST MOIVE EVER
Joenoma23 - Greatest Movie Everthe movie was great. Just listening 2 these songs makes me rember the awsome battle scenes
Spartan15 - Great movie and soundtrack!!The movie is just flat out asum. The fighting is amazing and the visual effects are spectacular. The soundtrack has alot of goods song on it like Fever Dream. There is one song in the movie that is not on there. It is called Lux aeterna from Requiem of a Dream. This version is an orchestra version. If you want the version from the movie. This version is called Requiem for a Tower Movement 4.
slave23d - Powerful stuffIf you saw the movie..you know the "vibe". Exotic sounds mixed with powerful hits. Great background music for working..or just relaxing. Think Gladiator with an edge.
Oh and to the "not original" comment. If you bought the album you'd see that it says that it's not all Tylers on the cover art.
But hey..if it good...it's good!
AFGLD - Great Score - except it's a ripoffThere are some wonderful tracks, but the sad reality is, it's note for a rip off of Eliott Goldenthall's Titus in two of the tracks. For a composer who showed such promise, this is very disappointing.
Elann - Fassbender fanboy reporting in!I love this movie! One of the best action films around with a beautiful and gritty visual art style and flair. How can you not like Michael Fassbender and Gerard Butler?!
morgan6196 - just awesome!Love it. I also love the artist Tyler bates.
Paul Books - I want the movie!I was looking at the movie selection once and saw 300 but my friends had already seen it, so we didn't rent it. Then I went to look for it again a few weeks later and it was gone! What the heck! Why did they get rid of it and keep the stupid soundtrack!
chop97 - Damn...Extremely well fitted soundtrack for one of the greatest action movies EVAR!!! Who cares if Tyler derived a song from Titus, good taste prevailed.
madmax - PlagiarismFilm composers, often working on tight dealines, frequently resort to being "inspired" by the works of others. Many a film composer has written a piece which mimics Holst's "Mars" from "The Planets" without being an outright copy. When scoring "300" Tyler Bates wasn't "inspired", instead, he resorted to lifting entire passages from the work of others - most notably Elliot Goldenthal's score for the film "Titus". These selections were not, as one reviewer suggests, licensed at the time of production. Tyler Bates submitted his score for "300" as an original work. It was only after the release of "300" and its soundtrack that listeners recognized the Goldenthal compositions. It was only then that Goldenthal received the credit (and monetary compensation) he is due and Bates was exposed as a plagiarist. Instead of downloading the score to "300" I suggest you download the score to "Titus", Vangelis' score from "Troy", Hans Zimmer's score from "Black Hawk Down" or any of the other scores Bates plagiarized.
Don't support plagiarism - don't download this album.
PK deFranko - OH YAThis is by far the best movie soundtrack ever made in the history of all stuff. I still need to watch the movie though. :P
K.E.D - WHY????iTunes needs to put "To Victory" REMIX on as JUST A SONG!!! I dont want to sell out $12 for one song, even though I have been searching for that song FOREVER!(its the songs at the end of the Vantage Point trailer) click YES if u agree!
farva1 - Soundtrack Score... Great.... Now where is the actual movie? This is a fantastic score. The music fits the movies so well. It is very moving and really helps get you in the mind set of the movie. With that said...
Why would iTunes put the soundtrack up as available to purchase... But, then not make the movie available online at the iTunes Store? The movie is hands down one of the best action movies to date. I don't think that anyone would ever say otherwise. You know for a fact that if you put the movie 300 up on iTunes for available purchase you would sell the pants off of it!! So why not do it? PLEASE!!!!! PLEASE!!!!
Vander Meulen - Great for Working OutThe faster paced and intense songs have a good beat to them that's great to work out to. I bought this album primarily for the purpose of getting some workout songs and I was not disappointed. Few things pump me up more than the images from 300 that these songs bring to mind.
shadesofgray782 - great movie, great music'nuff said
Revoltof2010 - Good...but ripped from TitusDon't get me wrong, i love a great score, and most of the 300 Soundtrack is exactly that; however that doesn't change the fact that the tracks "Returns a King" and "Remember Us" are all but torn straight from the Titus Soundtrack by Elliot Goldenthal. The difference between Tyler Bates' "Returns a King" and Goldenthal's "Victorious Titus" is a matter of lyrics. The Notes and rattling brass noises are identical. "Remember Us" is the mirror image of the last four minutes of "Finale" from Titus. While Bates' score is 5 star quality, I'm docking him two stars for pirating two of his best tracks from a better artist.
scoremad - This album is fraudMany of the themes used in this movie are derived from/stolen from other movie scores.
It's absolutely true. For example, "remember us" (300) is identical to "philimelogram" from Elliot Goldenthal's "Titus" and "Returns a King" is the same as "Victorious Titus" from that same movie. you can listen here on iTunes to be sure.
This is a real issue, Warner Bros. actually had to give a public apology which said, quote:
"A number of the music cues for the score of 300 were, without our knowledge or participation, derived from music composed by Academy Award winning composer Elliot Goldenthal for the motion picture Titus. Warner Bros. Pictures has great respect for Elliot, our longtime collaborator, and is pleased to have amicably resolved this matter."
While plagarism is a dissapointment, allow me to also say that the movie 300 was EPIC, and Tyler Bates could have stolen some much worse music than he did. Even though this album may be derivative, the music is full of fantastically brutal energy.
so, conclusively, you should go check out "TITUS," even if you get this album.
nonyabuizzness - Marching BandThis would be a GREAT Marching Band Show!!! The powerfulness of the music would be perfect for a powerful marchign band.
PWalshe - GET THE MOVIE ON ITUNES300 SHUD BE ON ITUNES IF U AGREE CLICK YES

Kqus C: - THIS... IS...SPARTA!
R. Kisser - Get it!!Loved the movie...love the soundtrack. It is the kind of music that stirs the blood (if you know what I mean). Great to listen to when having a nightcap :)
LesPaulForever454 - Good, not greatThis review is to "WHY, TYLER, WHY". You said that"Returns a king" and "Victorious Titus" from the movie "Titus" were exactly the same. I listened to both of them for a while, and they are quite similar, but not exactly. In "Victorious Titus", they use a lot more trills with the strings. Although they are in that same minor key, and the drum patterns are quite similar, there are still a few differences. Don't be too upset with Tyler Bates. I hope this soundtrack did not make you quit liking is work completely. :]
Overall, i thought this was very good work even though some songs on here were very slow and forgettable. There is great blends of instruments throughout the soundtrack.
Tselmecki - AwesomeThe movie was cool and the music.
Little Mrs Lovely - You just lost moneyTo Victory(Philip Steir's Sacrifice for Sparta Remix)

Shanice458 - AWESOMEGreat songs!!!
NocturneAngel - Rocking Tunes of Sparta!Wow! I never saw the movie but from what I hear it's amazing. These songs are intense with rock'n'roll headbanging fights. "Fever Dream" is my favorite because of its rock ballad!
toxicsknmn - very good scoreI love the album but I hate the fact that my favorite song I can't even download: "To Victory (Remix)"...
I have a question though... if I click on the 'purchase album' button, does that give me the 'album only' tracks? I'm only asking because I bought the album in a store... but if I buy the whole thing on here, I want to know if I get the exclusive track...
