The only songs that are worthy of going back and listening to are ones that came out before the album. The rest is pretty bad

As a fan of Maroon 5, I can’t shy away from the truth of the matter. If you chronologically examine each M5 record, from their earliest release (Jane) to this new record, it progressively strays from the sound of the previous records (as most music does; this is normal). But If you’re asking when Maroon 5 lost their signature sound, I’d have to say their fifth record “V”, but that’s even a stretch, as some will say that “Overexposed” was their last great record. Since “V”, Maroon 5 have lost their sound that we all fell in love with. The singles since that record have all been radio pop/hip pop style, and are severely lacking originality, and for those of us who loved M5’s earlier work, releases such as Red Pill Blues and this new record lack originality and soul. I really wanted to love this record, and although there are two semi-redeeming songs (ft. blackbear & Stevie Nicks), the record left me disappointed and wanting something different.

Really? These guys are thirsting for relevance so bad that they bought features from dead rappers? Disgusting. Neither Juice WRLD or Nipsey Hussle would support this trash. Let me guess, Pop Smoke is going to be on the super deluxe version that comes out when this flops. I bet there is a DJ Screw remix album in the works too. 🙄

Never disappointed by Maroon 5. I like the fact there music evolves!

Maroon 5 hasn't had a geniuninely good album in years. I stopped liking them when they went the straightup radio pop route. Adam is quoted on this album's page saying the band wannted to try new things and push themselves, but nothing about this album is new for Maroon 5... they've sounded like this the last 10 years.

You can trace the decline of music in the 21st century with Maroon 5's career. First ablum is lean, hungry pop rock, second album is slick and polished pop rock, third album is a perfection of that form, fourth album is half programming/half music, fifth album is all programming and littered with the "Feat." parenthetical, sixth album doubles down on the lack of live instrumentation and lazy programming, etc. The more famous Adam Levine got, the less musical the band became. Maroon 5 is the epitome of the band who everyone is justified in saying "I liked their older stuff. What happened to them?"

I want one like V...

Been waiting on their next album for what feels like forever! People STILL complain about them not sounding like they did on SAJ. Do I miss that era? Yes, absolutely. But the fact is, this is how they’ve sounded since 2012, it’s time to let it go. They updated their sound, and it works for them. The album is great, exactly what I expected. Good vibes for the summertime.

Been a long time between albums..... I am huge M5 fan, live in Vegas & saw them every NYE from their first concert @ Mandalay Bay in 2012 till 2019!!!! Had negative first response to Red Pill Blues, but it turned into one of my favorite albums. Jordi is the same. More I listen, more I love it. “Lost” is on constant repeat, think it will be their next big hit. Stevie Nicks was awesome, unexpected surprise!!!! If you are one of the hater reviewers, find another group to listen to. M5 will keep making their true fans happy💟💟💟💟☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️

Remember their debut album? There were thumping guitars, rocking drums and a nice edge when you combined the instruments with Levine's voice. Now the band barely exists as it's all autprogramming and just sounds like rock for people who love to stare at their navel. Adam Levine must be the music indsutry's most sacred prostitute as he will do anyting to sell records. This is such dreck!

I love Maroon 5 and I miss Adam Levine being on the Voice. With that being said, this is an awesome album.

Their albums just keep getting worse and worse. Songs About Jane is there one and only good album. Then they turned to garbage pop.

People can say whatever they want. Honestly this is not bad. This new hip-hop sound mixed with their regular pop one actually fits pretty well. You can definitely vibe to it.

Let me kindly just say this right now because I can sense that there will be a whole bunch of mixed emotions about this album, and that’s ok, but hear me out. I’m a HUGE Maroon 5 fan, have been since I listened to their first album; and thanks to Adam’s beautiful voice, this band can pretty much pull off any type of music.. and yes this album may be a bummer to some, but I feel like it’s good to be different.. each song is beautiful in its own way and to be honest, if you really listen and enjoy each song, you can still tell it’s Maroon 5. No, it doesn’t sound the same like the pop/rock band we heard with 2002’s This Love, but this new album fits with the new year and again, it’s original because no one else but Maroon 5 has created it. I find it beautiful that they named it after their manager’s passing it shows they have a big heart. I love this album. It’s catchy, it’s fun, it’s depth gives you feels, and it’s so wonderful to see this band come out with yet another album of great music! 🙏🏽💕

I am really confused why people are so down on Maroon 5. They are great at a certain style and seem to be fine doing it, or they would change it..right? This album is great for what it is. If you do t like this style then move along…maybe try some other music?

Downloaded the album for the wife. And not a big Maroon 5 fan. But I have to say this album is pretty solid. Really solid album from someone that doesn’t ordinarily listen to Maroon 5.

It's not Songs About Jane...but Songs About Jane was 20 years ago, so of course it's not Songs About Jane. No human artist will be making the same art after 20 years. YOU are very different from 20 years ago, assuming you were even alive then. YOU wouldn't enjoy being forced to copy/paste the exact same art from 2 decades ago, so don't expect them to. Soullessly mimicking your own music from another generation just to please SOME people would REALLY be "selling out". JORDI is the music they want to make in 2021 when not forced. What they DO have here are some nice pop tunes that people with an open mind might enjoy. My faves beyond the singles are "One Light" and the breezy sunny day vibe "Seasons".

As in wow this is terrible. This album could have came out 5 years ago and sounded the same. A few obvious radio hits, but these guys are swimming in the shallow end of the pool these days.

Yeah this album is even more unbareable than the last, alot of disposable songs, beautiful mistakes and lost are the only tolerable songs and even then they all have the basic drum beat, weird keyboard sounds and affects and auto tune splashed everywhere along with every other song having a cover artist because apparently the band can’t make music themselves… 2/10 maybe even 1… disappointing coming from a band who i grew up with..

I love Maroon 5. Songs About Jane to V were great albums. The last two have been disappointing.

I’ve listened to maroon 5 for a long time, and I absolutely love there stuff, after switching up there style on red pill blues, and hearing some of the snippets from tiktok and Instagram, I’m very excited and have high hopes for this album, maroon 5 has never disappointed me and I absolutely love you guys!
