YAAAYYYY ! MY MIND IS TOTALLY BLOWN(:
I had been anticipating this album's release for what seemed like forever, and it's finally here! I downloaded it as soon as it was released, and it has exceeded my expectations by a long shot. Pendulum started out as a unique drum-and-bass band from Australia, whose music incorporated lots of different genres into a single album, while maintaining a D&B face. Hold Your Colour was, and will continue to be, a magnificent album. With In Silico, they tried to combine rock into the mix alongside D&B, which in my opinion didn't flow so well - although it's still a good album. Anyways, with their release of Immersion, the drizzled a great bit of that awesome electronic genre in place of rock, to the extent that this album is actually classified as electronic. So you've got a few different genres all with a D&B/electronic/techno/dance/rock base. Every one of these songs are just amazing. And of course, with the deluxe version, for a mere five dollars extra, you get two The Island remixes, and three music videos. The Watercolour music video is very interesting, with some awesome effects and overall professional filmography. The video for Witchcraft doesn't make any sense to me, but it's very dark and cool and I love it. Finally, the music video for The Island is...awesome. After about a minute, you find it predictable; however at the end you're left pondering the meaning of it all. DEFINITELY buy this album. You will NOT be disappointed!!!
aka Mr Not Impressed below here. Claiming this album has "repetitive rythym" lets me and everyone else here know that you do not know what Drum N Bass is. DnB is SUPPOSE to have that same rythym. Just like how the reggeaton genre has their exact same beat every song. Do your research before you open your trap u call a mouth.
For those of us who remember the killer beats that Pendulum put out as a fledgling strictly drum and bass trio, the expansion of their repertoire has been a bitter pill to swallow. In Silico was generally disasterous with a few shining gems in my opinion. Immersion on the other hand has swung the pendulum (pun intended) back in the direction from whence they came. Some of the stuff on here really takes you for a ride, while a few tracks still feel a little too mass-appeal for my tastes. Overall a MUCH better album than In Silico, and a much broader album than Hold Your Colour, but it still doesn't hold a candle to the first time I heard Vault drop for the first time on Radio 1.
this album combines like three or four of my favorite types of music
This is finally on here! Great CD!!!!! The best are Both the islands and encoder but buy the whole cd!!!!!!!
This is like the crack of music!! So AMAZING!!
I work out to this album EVERYDAY!!! This album is so creative its ridiculous! I absolutely love Pendulum and am surprised everyone doesn't get it like I do. It's high energy, awesome chord transitions, with killer vocals and stomping drums. Great job on this one. If you're thinking about getting this album- do it!
I first discovered this band while listening to an Internet radio station called Radar Radio! It Is an awesome station based in Australia that focuses on new and unsigned music from Australia and around the world. Be on the lookout for another newer band from Australia whom will be releasing their first full LP at the end of February. The band is called Art vs. Science. These guys and Pendulum are poised to dominate the music scene here in the United States and quite possibly all around the world! I want to give a big "THANK YOU" to Australia for being the home to such incredible talent!
i was at a linkin park concert and pendulum opened for them. they r amazing live!
i saw them in concert and they where so good
I can't agree more with all the other positive reviews on iTunes! One of my favorite things about Pendulum is their ability to absorb multiple genres and blend them into their own brand of music. Unlike other bands that might stick to the formula for every song on an album, Pendulum is always changing and keeps things interesting. I've been listening to this album repeatedly since early last year and still find new and different things that I enjoy about it. For new fans that start with this album, don't be suprised that each of their previous albums are slightly different and lean a bit more to the electronic side - they're also definitely worth buying and are amazingly creative albums that show off how talented (and brave, considering how many consumers are quick to label bands "sell-outs" these days) this band is to be able to morph and evolve to create the music they want to create. Although I have seen their DJ set, I'm looking foward to their upcoming concert more than many I've seen in a while. It's nice to see Immersion on iTunes U.S., although it took a while. Congrats to Pendulum!
This album is amazing, electronica at its best. i can't imagine my life without this right now. the island is certainly my favorite. it totally blew me away. i just thank God 4 stuff like this, it's like a divine hand that reaches into the sleeping soul and wakes it up. Pendulum rocks.
Where have these guys been all my life
I keep listening to the previews and I have to just buy this album already! All of the songs I've heard are fantastic, and the previews sound so enticing. Even if you aren't familiar with this band, it's so worth it to own their music. They're amazing. My ultimate goal is to see them live in concert because the videos are fantastic. Basically every aspect of this band is incredible so I encourage others to buy it!
Ive always been a fan of Pendulum and this album was epic! Enough said, this is going to be an able i will be listening to for a while! Great jobs. IF you don't listen to them i comande you to start listening now =) <3
This is the first time I've heard this group and they are SSSIIIICCCCKKKKK!!! I am now a follower
Although it may be only one song, but Pendulum has produced some really, really good DnB. Set Me On Fire has a nasty drop, and if you like DnB, I suggest that be the only song you buy. Otherwise, there are some good songs (Self vs. Self) but I think The Island is much too poppy.
I have been waiting for months for this album to come out and it was well worth the wait these songs are just awesome! The island is probably my fav song
I first heard Pendulum perform for Linkin Park and decided to purchase their album. The top few tracks are absolutely awesome and I love driving while playing them. I'm afraid I'm going to end up getting a speeding ticket because of them! This album definitely brings me to another world.
:) yet another great album :D
Have been addicted to this since i bought it best album for electronic music in my library for sure! Can't wait for the next one from them
It took them such a long time to release this!!!
Honestly, I'm actually purchasing this album rather than borrowing from a friend, because I RESPECT Rob Swire.
Pendulum was one of those groups that I found a few songs that I liked, but was never really in love with their music. This album is quickly changing my mind. I simply love how Pendulum is crossing genres and including musical influences from styles beyond electronic. I especially enjoyed listening the duet with In Flames, "Self Vs. Self" The combination of the powerful, double-bass metal drums with the electronic drums, the dueling guitars alongside Pendullum's synthesized lines, and the contrasting vocals make the song a true aural treat. I know they're opening for Linkin Park at the moment, but I believe Pendulum should be the ones headlining after this solid album. Well done, gents. You've made a fan of me.
Fantastic album. Never heard someone mix Drum n Bass with rock so well. Every song is amazing.
I have been waiting for such a long time for this!
The album you have been looking for. Every single song is exceptionally great. Some take longer to grow on you but you will find yourself loving each equally as much. The hardest hitters are of course "Witchcraft" and "Watercolour". Enjoy!!! Green T
Sooo good... Always rocking sick beats!
That may seem like a big statement but i'm kinda known for how much i UNDERSTATE things. This album gives you everything from baby making music to a relaxed trance tune, with many great features of other great artists. Pendulum are able to get anyones heart beating and blood boiling, Pendulum is who you listen to before winning that national sports game, before paintballing or even just riding in your car. Often you can get bored to music from listening too it too much (thats a big issue for me) i got this album in may (the UK release date) and am yet to find any of their music boring in any way shape or form. One issue iv found with pendulum though, they NEED to come and do a US tour!!! they go all over Europe but never America! All American pendulum fans need to persuade them to do a US tour! Overall this music is mind blowing and i often find myself half naked when i listen to Salt In The Wounds. No other music can do what Immersion does.
I would give this OVER 9000if I could
I enjoy listening to Pendulum every day. Watercolour and Witchcraft are great singles that reflect the overall quality of this album. For those that care, the album resembles 'Hold Your Colour' in terms of sound. You get great value for what you pay with the delux version. I'm happy this album is finally here on the US iTunes and I can't wait to see these guys live next month in Denver!
I heard this album months ago when it first came out and I'm so excited that it's on iTunes now! I love Pendulum, and all that they do. There were as little as three songs I didn't like on this album, yet the rest I can't get out of my head. Great album! :)
Ive been listening tothis amazing albulmnonstop since june 2010, i eventually couldnt wait for the itunes release after already downloading the songs in an "ehh" quality so i just purchased the albulm on ebay. amazing quality. itunes isnt the only music store in the world for those who says it was worth the long wait to finally hear it. i never had to wait for this albulm and got it the second it heard it was released. the amazingness of this albulm goes wihtout saying but it shouldnt have taken this long apple. i couldnt wait so i didn't, and it was damn well worth not waiting to get it early, and thus you lost a customer, but pendulum never did.. happy listening to thoses who finally get to enjoy this masterpiece *dont buy individual songs, buy the whole albulm. it was designed to flow from one song to the next in a seemless transistion and in many songs does it perfectly only if they are listened together like they should. Official physical UK albulm FTW!
Ive never heard of Pendulum before this and one listen i love it! Must buy album!
This Is an AMAZING album!! I LOVE there Music now and I Look Forward to buying their older albums!! I Am Stunned!! There Is Probably Only Like 1 or Two Complaints I Have and That Is That "Self vs. Self" Is Disappointing because I Really don't like the screaming but the music in that song are really cool and "Comprachicos" Is a Really Cool Song But It Is Only 2 Minutes Long. So That Is My Oppinion. GO PENDULUM!!
Pendulum is awesome!!!
this album is amazing!(:
Best album I have herd. I just know them for a while and love their music
My friend was the first to introduce me to this band, and told me to get their latest album. I downloaded this the day it came out, and i was speachless. THis album is absolutally amazing. The music is unique and not what i'd normally listen to, but i got hooked the moment i hit play.
OK OK the combination of pendulum and In Flames is insane!!! Who knew that was comming! This album is amazing!! I cant wait to see them on the thousand suns tour on Feb. 10th!
Rarely does a group release a follow up album that surpasses the former when the former was a masterpiece in itself. Pendulum has done it twice in a row. In Silico was a triumphant answer to Hold Your Colour and in all ways, Immersion is an even better successor to In Silico. Pendulum is about heart thumping in-your-face lyrical adrenaline shots. The electro, rock, drum 'n bass and dub step influences are accentuated in each track's crescendo style that explodes in a climax of chest shaking beats, mind numbing synths and voice hoarsing lyrics. Not to mention the production and talent additions of In Flames and Prodigy's Liam Howlett. Forget about the neighborhood. They'll hear you even with the windows rolled up. I can't imagine a better album than Immersion and I can't wait for Pendulum to trump it in their next one.
I bought it in England last summer and its finally out in the US! I think its their best album yet. Can't wait to see them on Feb. 25!
Yet another great album.
Finally it made it to the US!! I actually ordered the CD and i was amazed. The aqua theme is abundant in the music and every song is amazing. The Island in particular is cool yet parties hardy. Great Music. Great Band. Greatest Album, definitely worth the extra money.
It's got everything; energy, dubstep, power chords & vocals, breakbeats.... and it's all too glossy & overproduced. It's the kind of soft & soothing music toddlers like to hear on the kids channel on XM or in a teen disney movie. This is exactly how I expected the future of American music to sound on a space ship rave where everyone wears jumpsuits - and I'm still disappointed by it.
I love Pendulum and this album does not dissappoint! This album is bumpin~~~~> :)
@ OneskinnyDJ this isn't even American music, they are from Australia and have moved to the UK, i suggest you know what your listening to before you criticize. If you don't like this kind of music so be it, just leave it alone. Even if you don't like it you could make a more serious arguement against it. That being said, this is one of my favorite albums ever. It is absolutely amazing, I only wonder why it came out so late. The UK got is last summer, and so did I.
I didn't want to stay up for this album on Tuesday, but I did. And I don't regret it! Simply Amazing!!
Song # 13... Self vs Self is Epic!!!! Thank You In Flames!!!!!!
