saxguy14 - Awesome!!This is such a good album! I love all the songs but particularly Fidelity, Better, Samson and On The Radio, but I think Hotel Song, Apres Moi and Field below are also good. I like the music is somewhat strange but interesting. I love it!!!
gdnz - querky single album averageGreat querky single("Fidelity")-put it on your ipod (maybe along with Carla Bruni)-these days if it makes it (as it has ) onto"Greys Anatomy" it's got to have something going for it but as the previous reviewer suggests the artist is far from the hype surrounding her at present and the album is only average but worth a listen to make up your own mind
music.fan - An excellent album.Regina Spektor's album isn't exactly mainstream and although Fidelity is very popular, the rest of the album is somewhat dissimiar (with the exception of On the Radio). However the album is excellent and she mixes classical piano elements really well into her songs. The bonus songs are the ones that she generally plays in her lives shows and are an entertaining addition to the Bonus track version.
Fidelity, Better, Samson, Hotel Song and On the Radio are probably the best songs on the album and for those that like this kind of music, it really is a good album.
Keith Finnerty - Nicei like this cd but my favourite song by her isn't on there, which is the call. it was on prince caspien the movie and i think it's her best song
Jack-be-Nim - Natasha Bedingfield?Sorry but I have to disagree with the TV Ads being trashed at the moment, claiming the "most talented female artist around". I'm not saying she is bad, but I don't feel it is a must buy album, or deserves to have Fidelity as the No 1 on iTunes at the moment.
HerrWagener - Fascinating mix of genius and craftmanshipThis album is one that sits comfortably in the gap between albums that are unpolished diamonds, and those that are over produced fluff. There are moments of raw talent: Apres Moi and That Time in particular, the polished and radio friendly Fidelity and On The Radio, and then the strokes of production genius found in Edit and 20 Years of Snow.
There is both a subtlety and a depth to the lyrics and arrangement that is very hard to find. However some of the content is raw, and as a result can be a little hard to take for those used to the MTV blandness of a song either being clean or explicit. Drug use and disillusionment are both present in the range of emotions and themes covered. As a result, this album is not for everybody, but if you give it time to grow on you, you will not regret it.
A real gem.
